Gnolls are a race of anthro hyenas. They first originated in Dungeons and Dragons and have since appeared in other fantasy settings such as Warcraft and Pathfinder. They are often portrayed as a savage, tribal species with digitigrade feet, but either or both of these aspects are not always the case.
