An emotion, expressing bad-temperedness or sulkiness but without overt hostility. Jeez, someone needs to lighten up...
A character who is grumpy is being moody and having somewhat of a bad temper. They're not completely angry, nor are they sad, but they're definitely not happy.

Not to be confused with the Disney character or Grumpy Cat.
