Description
Idols in Japan are a type of entertainer who are trained for the stage and marketed based on their cuteness and attractiveness. Idols are typically singers, but usually have other skills as well such as dancing, acting and modeling. They are most recognizable by their elaborate costumes that they perform in on stage.
K-Pop idols are directly modeled after the Japanese idol industry, and thus are also included in this tag.
