Description

A marker in the shape of a cross, placed to either (1) mark a gravesite, or (2) in memory of the deceased, but not necessarily at the place of burial.

Many tombstones contain crosses. Use memorial cross when the entire marker is in the shape of a cross. Use tombstone when the marker features a cross, but only as one part of its overall design.
