Description
Root beer is a (usually) non-alcoholic beverage traditionally brewed from the sassafras, vanilla, wintergreen, sarsparilla, or licorice roots (or a combination thereof), although some modern brands such as Mug or Barq's are entirely artificially flavored. It is similar to the beverage sarsaparilla, and in fact some recipes use sarsaparilla as the base.
