Skiddo is inspired by a goat, or more likely by its horns, the bharal It is also inspired by a two-wheeled vehicle: it can be driven and its horns are reminiscent of bicycle handlebars The leaves growing from its body are inspired by the Greek myth of Pan the half-man, half-goat god of nature.

Thanks to its photosynthesizing leaves, this Pokémon doesn't need to be fed as long as it can use the energy of the sun. It is docile by nature, and is believed to be one of the first Pokémon domesticated by humans. The anime also shows that Skiddo's milk can be used to make dairy products.
In Pokémon X and Y, Skiddo can be used as a Poké Ride
