If the teacher and student are engaged in sexual activities, that is unprofessional behavior. In real life, teachers are forbidden from having romantic or sexual relationships with their students due to such relationships compromising their objectivity as an evaluator. Teachers can also abuse their position to bribe or coerce a student with the promise of good grades. In fiction, though, some people find that hot.
A teacher/student relationship can can be a form of hierarchy play, as though teachers are usually ordinary people in the context of society as a whole, they are high-ranking within the context of a school's social order.
