Description
Thorns are the sharp growths that usually appear on stems of a plant such as roses, that are designed to inflict damage on attackers / predators to protect the flower. They are designed to be a deterrent.
Thorns can be adapted onto other objects for the purpose of protection, for example tentacles as shown here: thumb #883586
