Description

Zootopia (also known as Zootropolis in several European countries, Zoomania in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Zootopie in France) is a Disney media franchise that started in 2016 with the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Zootopia. It takes place in a walled city of anthropomorphic animals divided into different neighborhoods that reflect different climates. The protagonists are Judy Hopps, an optimistic rabbit from a rural town called Bunnyburrow who becomes the first rabbit police officer of the Zootopia Police Department, and Nick Wilde, a smooth-talking red fox who lived in the city his whole life and is introduced as a con artist. Together, they solve cases involving conspiracies, corruption, and the relations of different species.
Along with other related media, the franchise also includes a streaming miniseries of shorts, Zootopia+, released on Disney+ in 2022, and a 2025 sequel film, Zootopia 2.
