Cats of Tottenham is a lo-fi web series by Ellie Bradford and Will Stuart. It follows four women—Susan, Emily, Karen, and Jane—who all live in a tiny house share in Tottenham (North London, UK). However, they’ve been turned into gross cats by a scammer online. Their mission? TO CHANGE THE WORLD by fighting evil, etc.—billionaires!

HOWEVER, they realise they need money to pay rent and buy food, so all their time gets eaten up working at the Asda supermarket on Tottenham High Rd!

A little about the show: Cats of Tottenham is an artwork disguised as a sitcom. It follows four women who are scammed online by a man who offers them a strange spell: the chance to become a man, an animal, or a baby. They choose to become grotesque, unconvincing cats chaotic and a little tragic. Their choice is partly absurd, partly a way of “reversing evolution” to replace men with a new species. Each cat embodies a different aspect of myself: power-hungry, hopeless, impulsive, or quietly depressed. Like any sitcom, nothing really changes.

The project began when I was burnt out, broke, and living in a damp Tottenham flat, working a minimum-wage care job after being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I needed an escape, so I built one using whatever was available: broken dolls, chewing-gum prosthetics, makeshift sets, and the cheapest gear I could afford. The result was deliberately chaotic feminist but messy, emotional, loud, and illogical.
