This is owned by Explosm Entertainment, but I drew and animated everything here! This is an animatic, not the final animation, but if you're interested in how it turned out, click here to watch Cooking For The Boss on YouTube!

Way back in 2018 I was working with Mike Salcedo on a short that was initially called Dinner With The Boss, and it was a hilarious script. The visual gag ideas that Mike and the directors and I were coming up with were really dark but really funny. And in fact, it necessitated so many new backgrounds and assets (like props and the animals and their different poses) that it got shoved deep into the backburner because it was going over budget.

Not the first time for that to happen to a short that I worked on- it happens. It happened to Basebird, this, a Bas Rutten parody called Kick Nicholson (which I've been told is creeping toward getting made, but it's been many years and I'm not holding my breath.) And recently it happened to a giant robot short that I was thrilled to work on. Now, the animatic for the giant robot short can be viewed on Explosm's Patreon. I'm sure Kick Nicholson is there too, and Basebird eventually got released. But when Cooking for the Boss finally had the funding to be produced, I was thrilled. The gags still land, they did a great job, everything came out great. Check it out!
