It goes without saying that I gathered copious amounts of reference in order to create this animation. If I was ever given the chance to helm a Mickey Mouse project I would make damn sure he stayed true to the ideals of his original creators.

With that said, I just wanted to make some high quality expert fan art of my favorite version of Mickey Mouse. I think the white face black pupils is the most iconic but I understand why they had to give him eye whites with pupils and that reason being it allows for better expressions. Sonic is actually still dealing with this problem due to his motorcycle helmet style eye whites and seemingly singular eyeball that cover most of his head. Sega seems to have forgotten how to stylize Sonic so that his crazy head and eye size don't give people nightmares. Sonic should stay as far away from reality as possible. His design is built purely from artistic cheats that are crucial to his appeal. However, the Sonic movie did a decent job fixing it by giving him 2 distinct eyeballs but I digress, this isn't about Sonic this is about Mickey Mouse.

Apparently people don't like Mickey Mouse anymore because he's a lame boring corporate mascot. Well that happened because Mickey Mouse became too important. He used to be a trouble maker and a rambunctious little fella but they ripped that out of him and gave those traits to Donald to protect Mickey's image and after Disney did that Donald started to outpace Mickey in popularity because people can relate to a bad luck duck that almost says **** whenever he's pissed off. Mickey was turned into a milquetoast shade of his former self sadly. They did try to evolve Mickey with the Paul Rudish shorts but I feel even if they match the contemporary style of the time that style is not Mickey nor is it Disney nor is it timeless. And yet they're pretty good shorts either way! However, I personally don't think Mickey nor Goofy nor any of the cast are suited well to SpongeBob style gross out humor.

Anyway, again, I could've kept ranting about the state of Mickey Mouse forever but instead I tried to do something positive with my rage and this is what that rage birthed. Please enjoy!
