VOODOO VIDS EPISODE 4: IN BRUCE WE TRUST Episode 4 is upon us and I hope you enjoy it! I'm aware that many people may not have seen the original Evil Dead movie. And you don't need to have seen it to have some fun in this episode, but there are a lot of references here that are connected to the Evil Dead series. If you want some more context before watching, maybe check out the last edition of the Spooky Zine. ABOUT THE SPOOKY ZINEThe spooky zine is a once a month mini mag that explores some more of the local lore and connects with the episodes and world of voodoo vids in a way that's external to the animation. They are a bit of fun, but also can contain wider context for viewers that want to have some additional context. Or maybe you just want to read more about what's happening in the wider universe. A LOVE LETTER TO EVIL DEADThis episode is a love letter to Evil Dead and nods to the horror classic in certain ways I hope you would find nostalgic and at the same time, perhaps encourage some new people to seek out The Evil dead movies if you haven't seen them. You have to have a passion for old school splatter gore horror. But it's got a great blend of gore and comic styled over the top supernatural elements that are sure to delight, and Bruce Campbell is just brilliant as Ash Williams. I'm super excited to learn that there are rumors Bruce may even return to the movies in some capacity. I know currently Bruce is battling cancer, which is awful news, but as he said himself, "Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch".I along with many fans are wishing him a good battle and hope he gets well soon! I'd love to see him on the big screen in Evil Dead again! Beyond this point there will be episode 4 spoilers so return to read the rest after you've seen the episode. BEHIND THE SCENES OF EPISODE 4This episode took a lot longer to make than the others, I hope that shows and also thank you for your patience. The script went through a few re writes and last minute changes that extended the runtime. Having every character in a single episode comes with more challenges, making sure to give each of them a good scene. But I think it was worth it as if you like any character in particular they are all present in this one. THAT ICONIC INTROIf you are familiar with Evil Dead you will have noticed I did my best to pay homage to the opener from Evil Dead 2 that explains the Necronomicon's origins. Making that was so much fun, animating the front cover of the book, combining it with some stock footage of an ocean that I tinted red, and for the "ink effect" on the page reveals I used some simple track mattes of real ink drop footage to do that. I love how it turned out.I also did the narration in the intro, I rearranged elements of the original script to work better with the set up for this parody. My goal was to allow people who've never heard of, or watched Evil dead to get up to speed as quickly as possible with the idea that "this book is bad news" TECHNICAL STUFFOne of the biggest challenges is creating new environments and props. Something you see on screen for a few seconds in a few shots has had to be created from scratch. Some times I over engineer stuff too and I probably could've made the chainsaw without an actually animated chain... but because I did, It allowed me to get some cool camera angles of it in action. Same can be said for the shotgun that Franklin is using. it is based of the same model they used in Evil Dead 2, the original film Ash used a single barreled Winchester, but the sequel it was a 12 guage double barrel Stevens model, and later in the 3rd movie it was a double barrel Stoeger Coach Gun, which is lovingly referred to now as "The Boomstick"Ash famously saws the barrel off in Evil Dead 2. Of course I needed a forest. Not any easy set to build but I made it easy by cutting a lot of corners, the whole forest set is just a simple plane with a particle system placing tree images randomly across the surface.I made it within an hour and the lighting is doing most of the heavy lifting. which is again fairly simple. I like my renders to not take AGES. Most of the animation scenes take about 4-5 seconds per frame. So the forest was as basic as it needed to be. Paul's date cutaway was another external set that required a suburban feel to it. so I modeled some simple houses and kept camera angles to a minimum and focused only on what I needed. it was a very short scene so keeping the set small was important... but I could probably use it again in future should the need arise.Voodoo Vids itself as a set is the biggest and most detailed because I wanted a space where I can point the camera pretty much anywhere and have a great shot. A lot of time was spent on that, but it still needs work and more will come to the set eventually. Another huge time save has been using multiple cameras within the same scene and swapping between them. traditionally I would've worked on one scene per camera shot, but using Blenders camera marker system I can have multiple cameras that I can cut to whenever I need. so I can animate the whole scene in one blend file. This also makes it easier to alter small parts or fix things in post easier without having to dig through a load of different scene files. MUFFINMuffin the Dog was referenced in the Spooky Zine and fun fact, he is voiced by our own dog Podrick. Recording his various noises is fun. To get his taco crunching sounds we used a Poppadom, he very much enjoys working with us when there's food involved. The next two episodes will probably be a little shorter again too not keep the gaps too long between them. AND for the finale there's going to be another great addition to the page that you can all experience and join in. more on that soon.We may even see some more new characters too!! FINAL NOTEThank you all for watching and a special thanks to Bruce Campbell and Director Sam Raimi for making a bonkers horror franchise that inspires fans and creators still to this day.As for Voodoo Vids please share it if you can, tell people about It! Your support is greatly appreciated with every like, vote, comment. It will be available on youtube next week, right now they remain as Newgrounds exclusives at launch. If you want to know anything else about production or things I've not mentioned here, then please ask. more than happy to answer any questions.See you in the next one! and look out for the next edition of the Spooky Zine for some more info soon!

this is an april video i made last year about a stupid version of my character trying to find hair, i made a sequel that i like so i'm uploading this for context i expect this to be blammed and if it does that'll be really funny 😭 edit: how tf did this a 3.2 😭

Henry's Quest for Hair

A laugh track suddenly appears in David's life...

Here is sort of a "pseudo-sequel" to the "Identification" episode I made last year (I only call it that since they're structured similarly lol). Fun fact: I actually wanted to have this animation play without any music to mimic real sitcoms, but it felt way too "empty" without it, so I decided to still add music lol. Enjoy! I hope you guys enjoyed this animation, i had a lot of fun with it, the story is just a basic sequel and all of my voices are still rough around the edges (I sadly don't have the space or range to improve so, bummer :\) But i still think it's good. This was my first time animating in a lineless style so it took a little bit before i got fully use to it, but i think that this is probably my best looking episode alongside the "claymation" one, expect to see those styles to appear in more episodes! I'm also gonna do a couple of one-off stylistically experimental animations, like i was thinking of making a simple and goofy TF2 "crossover" called "Team Fortress Groove" where it's a blend of 2D & 3D where the 2D characters have 3D shadows and interact with all the characters and objects! I did make a test animation in that type of style so i'm confident that i can pull off something like that, i got a lot of ambitious ideas for this season so stick around. Thanks for watching & cya folks!

This has been a big, big creative endeavor for years since I stopped animating, and I will be very grateful for any attention it receives. It may be a significant departure for anyone who knows me for silly animations, but I hope people can find joy in it. It's a duology, so the current plan is to expect the sequel sometime in the next year or two.

The sequel to Seaside Denied and Metropolis Mayhem is here!

After many years and several huge setbacks, we proudly present Casino Calamity! To think this project started development all the way back in late 2013, but fate proved most unkind to us, until now: January 2026. Okay, so this is the unfinished Halloween-themed sequel to a shitpost "indie pilot" I did called Dogs Who Think. I had the idea about a week before Halloween and thought that if I drew really fast and sloppy, I could get it done by the 31st. However, even at my fastest and sloppiest, this was the most I could manage. I had most of the episode figured out in my head; it would have probably come to about 11 minutes long. Even in this unfinished state, a lot of people said it was really funny, which makes me feel good. Frankly, it also pisses me off. Why the fuck can't I just do this all the time? It feels like my brain is only good at episode plotting if it's for a semi-ironic project like this one. Seriously, I had the entirety of this Halloween special figured out, but I can't get the pilot plot to the cartoon series I've had in my head for years down. I think I just end up babying serious ideas too much, which means stuff like this is able to thrive more than anything else I could make cause I'm not precious about these characters or their world. As funny as it sounds, this unfinished half-shitpost and it's positive reception really inspires me to want to do more animatics for my more serious ideas, still caring to make a good final product but not handling everything with kiddy gloves, so to speak. Anyway watch the dogs bye

The 2nd movie in the Jackey's Revenge series!

Jackey is back at it again, this time he has issues with his older brother over sleep time and play time. [Author's notice]This 1 took a bit longer than usual as production began back in late-2025, and had been mothballed and cancelled one or twice, but I did manage to come around to finally finishing it after a couple sleepless nights of fighting with laziness. But here it is, the de-gachafied version of the 2nd film of the Jackey's Revenge series, Jackey's Revenge Part II! Now re-created using the same shitty art skills I had used for both the Scooterman series and the 1st Jackey's Revenge film! I originally intended to publish it in late-2025 but a lot happened so it ended up bleeding into this year, but better finished than being indefinitely cancelled right? Enjoy the remade sequel! The game unfortunately didn't release in winter 2025 so this is the least I can do.

Alright for those of you who don't know, about a year ago I revealed a release window for my game Spert Balls 2 which was winter 2025. Obviously that didn't happen so to make up for it I decided to release an actual teaser trailer for the game. It might not be much but it's the least I can do. Spert Balls 2 is an episodic 2D action shooter game which is a sequel to a game that I made in 2023 (https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/881512) and if you just clicked on the link and played it yourself, chances are you've realised that it was bad, short and rushed out. Don't worry, I can guarantee you that Spert Balls 2 will be a hundred, if not, thousand times better than the first one and will feel like an actual video game worth playing. The gameplay will be heavily inspired by a lot of old school games for example DOOM, Metal Gear Solid, Half Life and some flash games I grew up playing. Right now I'm only working on Chapter 1 and if it does well, then I'll work on the whole game. For now I can't promise you with a release date since I don't want to end up delaying it again and life is becoming more difficult right now since I'm slowly approching adulthood, but don't worry, as soon as I know the release date, you'll know too. Coheed and Cambria - One Last Miracle

Music by Armin Jusuframić, performed 2025, https://arminjmusic.com/Thank you so much for this fantastic dark ambient reinterpretation! The original version of this comic-animatic was drafted around 2010. Dead Space was the game that motivated me to buy my first proper gaming computer back in the 2010s.Back then, during a gaming party with some friends, one of them introduced us to Dead Space which he played in his Xbox 360. I was Blown away. I was unaware of the advancements in horror gaming and loved the immersive environment and creature designs. So I started saving for both a custom gaming computer from a small PC building business(a Rig which would also serve me for art and design) and a physical copy at an Office Depot (I didn't know of Steam until the sequel came out). While I was setting apart the money to buy my gaming rig, thanks to the immense hype and anticipation I started drawing the original version of this comic. This scenario was drawn thanks to the lore that my friend who owned the game at the time, told us while he was playing, and I also listened to the lullaby posted here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpYz4EQVo1w&list=RDbpYz4EQVo1w&start_radio=1, Something to note is that, prior to drafting the original version I didn't see the marketing trailer, I didn't watch other gameplays or youtube videos, I didn't check the Wikia, and the character references for drawing were scarce on the internet. As you see that version was left incomplete. I was lacking some art skills, and the figures and books from the game were not very available in my country until much, much later. I got my PC and my game and forgot about it for a long while. I picked up this fan art piece, after many years as it was a fun exercise in graphic narrative, and now I learned a bit of extra skills to properly finish comics. For the storytelling, I took inspiration from the Lullaby and used the lyrics as symbolisms to narrate the sequence within these pages. This is the tought process and break-down of the panels you see: Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star (glowing eyes)How I wonder what you are (a lifeform, a necromorph)Up above the world so high (necromorph falls from the ceiling)Like a diamond in the sky (Necromorph's glowing eye+ The Miner looking up)When the blazing sun is gone, (Sun=Miner's life)When the nothing shines upon, (Darkness=Miner's death)Then you show your little light (Little light=Infector's Proboscis, sign of reincarnation/life, tunnel of light while dying or near death)Twinkle, twinkle, all the night. (All the night=Time Passing, transformation ongoing, preparing to return to life as a new form) Then the traveler in the dark, (Isaac)Thanks you for your little spark, (living monster=uncleared area )He could not see which way to go, (path unexplored, exit level is near)If you did not twinkle so. (if Isaac didn't find a living Necromorph) When the blazing sun is gone, (Marker blocks sunlight)When the nothing shines upon, (Darkness=Marker is the source of the nightmare)Though I know not what you are, (the necromorph looming behind)Twinkle, twinkle, little star. (necromorph glowing eyes, little star= a lifeform) I haven't checked newest sources or lore expansion to see if what I "saw" in the lyrics was accurate to the story's representation XD. But still, wanted to finish this. Thanks so much for watching! I hope to get/play the reboot and buy its artbook soon!

This is the 4th finished clip from my upcoming film "Steamboat Willing", a 46 minute sequel to Steamboat Willie in which Mickey gets shipwrecked on a mysterious island. The film is currently raising funds on Indiegogo and there's 3 days left: https://www.indiegogo.com/en/projects/billystevenson/steamboat-willing Also the audio is temporary, I'm currently raising funds specifically to pay voice actors.
