Mario goes for a dip in Jolly Roger Bay, haha! LOL!

IMPORTANTYou can access the 4K video version by clicking "video" or the Flash version by clicking "flash" under the format section. The Flash version is ~25 MB, so loading may take some time. <img src="https://uploads.ungrounded.net/tmp/img/527000/iu_527981_4226168.webp" width="563" height="386" alt="iu_527981_4226168.webp" data-smart-scale="563,386"> v0.1 — First release, AS3v1.0 — Switched to ActionScript 2v1.1 — Added preloader and credits PRE-PRODUCTIONMatterBoar came up with the idea of Mario face down in the water having drowned at Jolly Roger Bay. It was in-between recording our SpongeBob reaction and our Thomas the Tank Engine reaction for his channel. Given I’m working on commissions for MatterBoar, <a href="https://themaskedmonocole.newgrounds.com" rel="nofollow">@themaskedmonocole</a>, and a Persona 5 animation for my channel (as well as editing videos, making music, and working a day job), I decided that I would attempt to get this project finished in one day. That way, this project wouldn’t cut into others too badly. I started at around 2 p.m. on the 15th. The music was already made. It is entirely coincidental that I had created a cover of Dire, Dire Docks that could be used in this animation, but I’m happy I made it! Saves me the hypothetical trouble of having to worry and make it now. It didn’t get that much attention when I first posted it despite me being very happy with the way it turned out, so I’m glad this is an opportunity for me to organically reintroduce it to more people. Originally, I was going to go for a 4:3 aspect ratio to match the aspect ratio of the Nintendo 64. But, I felt that a wider canvas would be more dramatic and added to the comedy of Mario fucking drowning. So I went with 2:1. PRODUCTIONI skipped storyboarding and went straight to working on the background art. (The timelapse of the background art is <a href="https://ko-fi.com/adesyndicate" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">available on Ko-fi</a> for members only!) I went into it hoping to improve on the color palette of Jolly Roger Bay. The colors in Super Mario 64 in general are very muddy, in my opinion, and I wanted to make it more colorful and vibrant. However, I’m not confident in my digital painting skills and struggled all throughout the process. The background was supposed to have a lot more setpieces from Jolly Roger Bay, but I couldn’t make it work. So I settled for just the lake, mountains, and clouds in the sky. When paired with Dire, Dire Docks, the point gets across that this is supposed to be that level from the game. POST-PRODUCTIONThe textbox rotation transition at the end took a fair amount of time to fiddle with to get even remotely close to the game. I could have done it in Flash a lot easier, but that would have ultimately complicated things, I felt. In the end, it looks okay! I completed this about 5 hours after starting. Dire, Dire Docks (mario is freaking dead)

A promo for an animated fantasy series I'm creating!

Pommel n' Ax is an animated fantasy series I have been planning for quite a long time. It features Pommel and her partner Ax, both Mercenaries trying to find new work (likely in the fields of monster slaying or adventuring) in the country of Melodia, travelling from far away for new opportunities. The series will feature 5-7 minute long episodes, fully voice acted and animated. As heroic fantasy, it will follow the protagonists as they meet new allies and get into crazy battles with monsters! The whole thing is heavily inspired by Dungeons and Dragons, so that kind of feeling is what I want to evoke, and I hope it comes through! The series is mostly written out and planned, and my workflow makes things fairly easy when I get into my stride. But, to afford the various aspects (Extra art, music, voice acting) I need initial funding, help from YOU! If you're interested in supporting this project and seeing it get created, please check out my patreon!
Until December 31st, if you join the Patreon, you'll get a special FOUNDER role in the associated Discord Server so everyone knows you got in on this fantasy adventure before it was cool! Neato! <a href="https://www.patreon.com/modstin" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.patreon.com/modstin</a> If you want to keep up with the progress of the series but don't necessarily want to help fund it, I urge you to follow my Twitter (<a href="https://modstin.newgrounds.com" rel="nofollow">@Modstin</a>) and subscribe to this youtube channel!
Another way to help is to share this video, the more visible it is, the more people might want to get in on it!

A horror-comedy stop-motion tale of a man and his ax.

A horror/comedy detailing the adventures of a man and his ax. Made for the <a href="http://www.bricksinmotion.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">http://www.bricksinmotion.com</a> contest "BRAWL 2013."
(Brickfilm Rapidly All Week Long.) It's not perfect by any means, but I'm still proud of it. And it was sure fun to make.

Pommel n' Ax is an animated fantasy seres, taking two mercenaries off the boat into a world of down to earth adventures, slaying monsters, and hopefully treasure! Edbutt begins to explain his feelings for Bella, but her cold heart is to hard for him to bear. Although her hardly beating heart is cold and dense, it's not nearly as dense as the blade of Abraham Lincoln's (FAG SLAYER) ax head.
