Conquer the Foe To all those whose truth has been silenced or forgotten.— RKS _______FOREWORD:Conquer the Foe is Roadkill Studios first ever short film. It is a hand-drawn anti-incidentalist film which pays homage to classic point-and-click Flash game culture. The film began development in March 2025, and was composed, illustrated, edited, written, and published by one amateur artist. All music and artwork was created by me, although some characters and visual elements are deliberate homages to, adaptations of, or parodies of works that influenced the film. At the centre of the film is the film theory principle of anti-incidentalism. The notion that every visible character in a film must have a defined history and identity, irrespective of whether that history is immediately apparent to the viewer. The film is therefore intended to be experienced not merely as a graphic chase scene, but as insight into fragments of a larger world beyond what the viewer sees on screen. The need for a film like this is to fulfil the duty of laying the groundwork for a comprehensive anti-incidentalist narrative long term. In some respect, the "art" of anti-incidentalism is to attempt to prepare for questions that will be asked in the future. The film was created both as an exploration of this principle and as a personal homage to the visual and artistic style of 2010s Flash games. Conquer the Foe is the first major release under Roadkill Studios, and it represents the start of a wider body of work that the studio will continue to develop over time. _______ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:Hundreds of hours were dedicated to the completion of this short film. Although entirely created by one individual, we must thank the developers whose artistic influences enabled this film to be made in the first place. We thank Chriss Martin, Yan Lepage, Mario Boutin, Jo Fortier and Josee Godbout for Desolation: The Stages of Anxiety. Their work on this project is noted for the prominent grim-minimalist art style and inspiration for many character designs in the film. Stage 1 was constructed as a tribute to Desolation.Credit: <a href="https://www.kongregate.com/en/games/webcypher?page=7" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.kongregate.com/en/games/webcypher?page=7</a> We thank Hyptosis for The Sagittarian and for his excellent hand-drawn style, which inspired the horde/chase elements of the film and several character designs, particularly in Stage 2.Credit: <a href="https://hyptosis.newgrounds.com/">https://hyptosis.newgrounds.com/</a> We thank Mateusz Skutnik for Submachine, and for over 20 years of consistent artistic output and contribution to the point-and-click genre, the influence of which cannot go unnoticed for this film.Credit: <a href="https://www.mateuszskutnik.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.mateuszskutnik.com/</a> We thank Patrick Majewski for Monster Basement and its sequel. These games established an artistic vision that largely inspired Stage 2. We also thank Patrick Majewski for permission to include The Mud Vile from Monster Basement as part of this film.Credit: <a href="https://godlimations.newgrounds.com/">https://godlimations.newgrounds.com/</a> We thank Igor Stravinsky for The Rite of Spring. A composition that completely redefined modern music and paved the way for many of the film soundtracks released in the last century. From the creator:To my mentors from the conservatory — whose names have been omitted for privacy — I thank you for your knowledge and expertise in which you shared with great generosity. The role of mentor should not be undervalued, for the role they play in forming a trainee's professional (and sometimes personal) life can be profound. Their contributions both directly and indirectly have helped shape the vision of this film and will define all future Roadkill Studios productions. I remain indebted to them for their dedication, patience, and time they commit to providing guidance and mentorship. _______Stage Descriptions:<ul><li>Prelude - The point in time before any disturbance. The prelude is the calm before the storm.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 1 - The first stage is the experience of a sudden distressing event; this stage is the realisation that something has gone horribly wrong as panic sets in.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 2 - This is the stage where panic is quickly replaced by a state of blunt, numbing dissociation.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 3 - Stage three is where the density of consciousness reaches its breaking point. Sanity is erased following a flash of light, and the incomprehensible suddenly becomes known.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 4 - Consciousness returns hours later; the embers of the previous stages continue to burn as comprehension slowly reconsolidates. Episodes of delirium continue, with flashes of mnemonic rupture followed by further disorientation. The acute event is over but effects fluctuate over several hours.</li></ul> Support Roadkill Studios on Ko-Fi: <a href="https://ko-fi.com/roadkillstudiosofficial" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://ko-fi.com/roadkillstudiosofficial</a> NOTICE: This film contains disturbing, graphic, and mature material. Nevada turns into a hellish landscape plagued by demons and destruction.

Following the events that occurred during Madness Combat 10 and 11, Nevada has been compromised by hundreds of improbability events that have made reality itself completely unstable. During that period, massive energy readings originating from the most remote places of the Other Side began to appear. In the depths of Purgatory, far away from Nevada, in places beyond the Machine, a reality that had remained hidden all this time beneath Nevada begins to emerge: a new, deeper Hell, even more chaotic than Purgatory itself, where all the remnants of the improbability and madness that occurred in Nevada had been accumulating, until it finally escaped toward the surface. In a small AAHW base, a massive energy leak originating from that deep Hell emerges. Everything depends solely on an ATP soldier, who will have to make his way through an entire Hell if he wants to survive and alert his fellow agents of the events about to take place. Madness Nevada's Hell started as a small animation idea that over time became something more ambitious, and there are plans to make more episodes about this universe, with new characters, a completely different Madness Combat world, an entirely new and elaborate story and narrative, and above all, lots of demons, violence, madness, and heavy Cheshcore-Metal.

After dying, a cat must get used to the peculiarities of existing without a body.

The Amazing Story of the Phantom Cat is an animated short that I wrote, animated, and scored between December 2022 and April 2023. It was my first experience making a 2D animated short, so it was a cascade of challenges that turned into countless learning experiences.I made the animation using Krita. Hours and hours of drawing, erasing, and drawing all over again. I had already composed the music long before, but I arranged it specifically for this short, trying to understand the logic of timing and repetition in animation, using LMMS.I was lucky enough to have some great ghostly friends—José Haidar, Marcelo Cáceres, Agustina Conti, and Daniela Barrionuevo—lend their voices to the narration and characters.I hope you enjoy The Amazing Story of the Phantom Cat! Beyond the joy of bringing this project to life, this short film allowed me to connect with incredible people from the world of animation, mainly through its participation in film festivals. In October 2023, The Amazing Story of the Phantom Cat was screened at FAN – Festival Audiovisual de Neuquén (Argentina), as part of the Official Selection of National Animated Shorts. In December 2023, it was also part of the Official Selection of Animated Shorts at AnimaVerso Festival, held in Florianópolis (Brazil). In January 2024, it was screened in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia) as part of EDO 2024, and in May of the same year, it was screened at Anima Latina in Buenos Aires, Argentina.I never imagined the cat would get to visit so many places. Crazy Frog: Beyond the Music Icon

This is a short-project that I have made in college.

This is a passion project, that I've really want to show and make. The project is called KApocalypse. Made by myself. It's about an apocalyptic world between two characters, that were exploring together in this lost and quiet environment while surviving horrors beyond from monsters, creatures, to post-apocalyptic beings. It may be dangerous but sometimes it's rather normal. The concept, is short but I'm still practicing some of the best efforts for me to be able making this show come to life. Please give me some feedback for this short animation for anyone who are interested.Something positive or maybe negative. OC Animation of Thing Mimic Cover with Geminore Staticus (or Sir Gemini II)

Starting to get motivated again to make animations, starting with a little animation meme on Thing (Mimic edition) but with my OC, Geminore Staticus (or Sir Gemini II). Who is Geminore Staticus (Sir Gemini II)? Geminore is VHS Horror entity inspired by SMG4’s “Mr. Puzzles”, where I thought of making a vhs tv like character, with the inspiration of course being Analog Horror!Story: Geminore was made by an old pig by the name of Pablo Pigsworth as an advanced AI assistant to show the future technology of assistance from robots, but Geminore starts to become self-aware, wondering if this is his only purpose, or can he unlock his true potential. This makes him go rogue, making his owner “unrecognizable” and running away from home, later being captured by cult members worshipping their god known as “Bete Noire”.As a sacrifice, they use Geminore to feed the black beast, but this makes Geminore gain unspeakable powers beyond his own comprehension, and above anyone else, proceeding to slaughter the whole cult. With this new abilities Geminore (Telekinesis, Technokinesis, etc), he realizes from this moment forward, he’s unlocked his full potential, and that’s creating Tormented Entertainment! Giving him the idea to control the world he lives in, and turn it into a horror show, with survivors, and monsters under his control! This was originally a story for Puggy and his friends, but was later reformed into a story for an idea I have for a piggy fan game called “PIGGY: TORMENTERTAINMENT” a CHOICE-DRIVEN game inspired TellTale franchises. Pretty much about it, again I had a period of time where I didn’t have motivation to animate content no more, but now i do again, and I’m also currently working on the RETURN for AsdfMovie 15 (PuggyPugsonYT Edition!), along with a few animation remakes from like 2020/2021, anddd two original animations, one completely new, and another I’ve worked on before and talked about A LOT then got cancelled for my demotivation! For now, hope ya enjoy this small animation meme I made on Sir Gemini II (He’s named after Gemini Home Entertainment btw) #Animation #AnimationMeme #AnimationMemes #AnimationVideo #AnimationVideos #Vhs #VhsHorror #OC #OriginalCharacter #OriginalCharacterAnimation

I am so pissed off beyond belief, a Hacker took over Crispy Toast's Discord Account, then Deleted it and the Server I was spending a lot of my time coming up with the concepts for the Stories I had planned for my AU Series. I'm honestly not in a Good Place Mentally right now, knowing that all your work online can go away in a Near-Instant just because of one or more Malicious Oxygen Stealing Non-Human people who only contribute to showing the worst of us as a Species.

Back of Beyond

A paper sailor finds a certain ingredient for soup for his unwell parents.

This is an animated short which was originally uploaded to YouTube in October of 2025. I made it in uni for a project to experiment with rotoscoping animation, hence the rotoscoped elements of the short. The short focuses on a paper sailor who finds a box of crayons which bring colour back to his unwell parents who live in the local pier. Ending music. Calypso Beach Walk - Doug Maxwell

PRISM-IZED

It's that time of the year where hunters of all shapes and sizes look out for the biggest prize in the Cryptid Hunting Season. Reina, her right-wing man and a trusty horse, could only mean a mix of trouble, adventure, and a fat chunk of compensation. Where are they going with a cheap axe, a loaded backpack and a old horse? This question alone answers itself in many ways beyond explanation.

I'm aware that many people may not have seen the original Evil Dead movie. And you don't need to have seen it to have some fun in this episode, but there are a lot of references here that are connected to the Evil Dead series. If you want some more context before watching, maybe check out the last edition of the <a href="https://voodoovids.newgrounds.com/news/post/1619729">Spooky Zine</a>. ABOUT THE SPOOKY ZINEThe spooky zine is a once a month mini mag that explores some more of the local lore and connects with the episodes and world of voodoo vids in a way that's external to the animation. They are a bit of fun, but also can contain wider context for viewers that want to have some additional context. Or maybe you just want to read more about what's happening in the wider universe. A LOVE LETTER TO EVIL DEADThis episode is a love letter to Evil Dead and nods to the horror classic in certain ways I hope you would find nostalgic and at the same time, perhaps encourage some new people to seek out The Evil dead movies if you haven't seen them. You have to have a passion for old school splatter gore horror. But it's got a great blend of gore and comic styled over the top supernatural elements that are sure to delight, and Bruce Campbell is just brilliant as Ash Williams. I'm super excited to learn that there are rumors Bruce may even return to the movies in some capacity. I know currently Bruce is battling cancer, which is awful news, but as he said himself, "Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch".I along with many fans are wishing him a good battle and hope he gets well soon! I'd love to see him on the big screen in Evil Dead again! Beyond this point there will be episode 4 spoilers so return to read the rest after you've seen the episode. <img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586325_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586325_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,317"> BEHIND THE SCENES OF EPISODE 4This episode took a lot longer to make than the others, I hope that shows and also thank you for your patience. The script went through a few re writes and last minute changes that extended the runtime. Having every character in a single episode comes with more challenges, making sure to give each of them a good scene. But I think it was worth it as if you like any character in particular they are all present in this one. THAT ICONIC INTROIf you are familiar with Evil Dead you will have noticed I did my best to pay homage to the opener from Evil Dead 2 that explains the Necronomicon's origins. Making that was so much fun, animating the front cover of the book, combining it with some stock footage of an ocean that I tinted red, and for the "ink effect" on the page reveals I used some simple track mattes of real ink drop footage to do that. I love how it turned out.I also did the narration in the intro, I rearranged elements of the original script to work better with the set up for this parody. My goal was to allow people who've never heard of, or watched Evil dead to get up to speed as quickly as possible with the idea that "this book is bad news" TECHNICAL STUFFOne of the biggest challenges is creating new environments and props. Something you see on screen for a few seconds in a few shots has had to be created from scratch. Some times I over engineer stuff too and I probably could've made the chainsaw without an actually animated chain... but because I did, It allowed me to get some cool camera angles of it in action.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586351_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586351_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,317"> Same can be said for the shotgun that Franklin is using. it is based of the same model they used in Evil Dead 2, the original film Ash used a single barreled Winchester, but the sequel it was a 12 guage double barrel Stevens model, and later in the 3rd movie it was a double barrel Stoeger Coach Gun, which is lovingly referred to now as "The Boomstick"Ash famously saws the barrel off in Evil Dead 2. Of course I needed a forest. Not any easy set to build but I made it easy by cutting a lot of corners, the whole forest set is just a simple plane with a particle system placing tree images randomly across the surface.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586349_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586349_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,495">I made it within an hour and the lighting is doing most of the heavy lifting. which is again fairly simple. I like my renders to not take AGES. Most of the animation scenes take about 4-5 seconds per frame. So the forest was as basic as it needed to be. Paul's date cutaway was another external set that required a suburban feel to it. so I modeled some simple houses and kept camera angles to a minimum and focused only on what I needed. it was a very short scene so keeping the set small was important... but I could probably use it again in future should the need arise.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586352_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586352_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,295">Voodoo Vids itself as a set is the biggest and most detailed because I wanted a space where I can point the camera pretty much anywhere and have a great shot. A lot of time was spent on that, but it still needs work and more will come to the set eventually. Another huge time save has been using multiple cameras within the same scene and swapping between them. traditionally I would've worked on one scene per camera shot, but using Blenders camera marker system I can have multiple cameras that I can cut to whenever I need. so I can animate the whole scene in one blend file. This also makes it easier to alter small parts or fix things in post easier without having to dig through a load of different scene files. MUFFINMuffin the Dog was referenced in the <a href="https://voodoovids.newgrounds.com/news/post/1619729">Spooky Zine</a> and fun fact, he is voiced by our own dog Podrick. Recording his various noises is fun. To get his taco crunching sounds we used a Poppadom, he very much enjoys working with us when there's food involved.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586356_28415006.jpg" alt="iu_1586356_28415006.jpg" data-smart-scale="764,764">The next two episodes will probably be a little shorter again too not keep the gaps too long between them. AND for the finale there's going to be another great addition to the page that you can all experience and join in. more on that soon.We may even see some more new characters too!! FINAL NOTEThank you all for watching and a special thanks to Bruce Campbell and Director Sam Raimi for making a bonkers horror franchise that inspires fans and creators still to this day.As for Voodoo Vids please share it if you can, tell people about It! Your support is greatly appreciated with every like, vote, comment. It will be available on youtube next week, right now they remain as Newgrounds exclusives at launch. If you want to know anything else about production or things I've not mentioned here, then please ask. more than happy to answer any questions.See you in the next one! and look out for the next edition of the Spooky Zine for some more info soon!
