Whaddup, it's been a minute. I already wrote my thoughts on the longer break down in the recent patreon post I made, so I'll only talk about the animation itself here. I really fucking struggled with this one! (evidently) This is definitely one of the more challenging animations I've done so far despite technically being so simple (conceptually). One big issue I had is that I want to be able to trust my own roughs, so I've started putting extra time into them - which raised the bar for what I'm happy with as early as the roughs stage now, which in turn means I spend like 4 times the amount of time on the whole thing that I usually would've.I also tried out some tricks to raise the fidelity of the shading by doing the full blockout cel shading frame by frame, then erasing it in certain spots to give a softer look. I'm quite happy with how it turned out overall, definitely worth the effort. More coming soon as before, hopefully without a 2 month gap this time. Peace-Burst

Peer through the glory hole in your stall, and you'll find something amazing.

Whaddup y'all unless you've been following my main twitter, you might not know that I recently made a nsfw alt. I've been posting some sketches there and have recently started giving animation a shot. So far I've made three loops, the first two of which I didn't think were good enough to post here. This third one is the result of 4 days of more or less just animating for 12+ hours. I think my roommate thinks I'm trouble now and my cat's started jumping directly into my face to get my attention, but I think it was all worth it. While I forgot to paint the bottom girl's pussy, I'm so fucking happy with how the shading turned out, especially considering I've never had much practice with cel-shading. I'm likely going to continue down the road with animation for a while, I'm currently planning a short non-loop animation, but I'm gonna be so honest, CSP is making my life hell in some cases. I won't get into it, but if you're looking to animate use literally any other software. That being said, while I (surprisingly) quite enjoy sitting around for 10 hours a day and just drawing the same thing over and over again, my finances won't magically improve from it, so I'm planning to start a patreon fow WIPs and sketchy shorts, as well as early releases. When that time comes around, I'll have something for y'all to announce it. Until then, I'll probably post some of the recent art I've made when I get around to it. Peace-Burst

Heya! Salty here <3 So i've tried TvPaint today, i installed it yesterday and i must say it's amazingly cool, the fact that u can reposition a cel in whatever position u want thanks to the light table is amazing.I thought that maybe doing what Toniko Pantoja suggested was a good idea (making effect animation as a begginer) so i made a little explosion, everything hand drawn hehe. I hope u like it, i had a lot of fun <3

TrouserToons - The Mouse

Around 1974, going into 75, a little known upcoming director made a test animation for a project that ultimately went unproduced. Just recently, cels from the test have resurfaced, and sold at private auctions. And after about 2 weeks of waiting, the test animation itself has been processed, and re-recorded to be put online... Lost media theatrics aside, this is a test animation I've been working on, since the beginning of June. Took me a little over 2 months to complete because of all the detail I put into each frame. This animation is also up on my YouTube. (link in bio) And for those wondering, the animation is meant to be reminiscent of films like Heavy Metal, Rock and Rule, and just about every Ralph Bakshi movie. Basically, trippy animated films from the 70s and 80s that have gained their own cult followings, years later. Sadly, this was not done with actual Cels. I try my hardest to make it look like it was, via observing old animation, and of course practicing with this project. Also of course adding simple title cards that some test animation years ago would have. I wanna give a massive thank you to one of my friends who voiced Willy, who would prefer to stay anonymous, and of course GameCubeDude for voicing Depp. His channels here:https://www.youtube.com/@GCDstreamshttps://www.youtube.com/@GameCubeDude100 Really hope you enjoyed this short and sweet test I made. If you could, please share this around. I would love to see these characters be part of something REALLY huge one day. Also, I will soon be opening art commission for those who are interested. Not sure when, just yet, but hopefully before September begins. Thank you all for watching. Follow me on Twitter/X(link in bio) and NewGrounds if you aren't already. I plan to be more active on here in the future.

A small little goofy thing I came up with with no real reason other than to show I’m also an animator that attempts to mimic the old style that is no longer here. This is just a taste, a peak, of what’s to come. I will also clarify that this was made for the toony purpose (inflation used to be a goofy gag you know) so don’t be too weird about it. A little character showcase of Vera Swiftpaw, a curvy gun bun mercenary

I've been thinking of getting back into game dev. It's still very much in the super early stages but I've been brainstorming some ideas and I want to go with something reminiscent of the old cel-shaded Dreamcast/PS2 games. For the first character, I've designed Vera Swiftpaw, a curvy gun bun mercenary. I've made a little run cycle and idle animation to show her off in the video above. After the previous Pikmin Bit, I still wanted to hit the Thursday deadline. I just wanted to see if I could do two Bits within a week, albeit two very brief ones. This is definitely my largest amount of frames drawn within one shot. In total, I did 54 individual drawings. Now to sell each individual cel used, since this was def a found fotage of a pikmin pilot from 19993. You know, I'm happy that the Puffy Blowhog's corpse can be collected since Pikmin 3. TAKE THAT YA DUMB BALLOON. The boards for this particular Bit were done in a delirious night I had thinking of the time some dude was chatting me up about Political Figure #366910 when I was trying to work. Like, my friend, pleaaaase get more interesting if you wanna talk to a cute cartoonist....Oh, is this a Wendy's? Ah, kay, see ya later. The background here was heavily influenced by the style of Cow & Chicken. A simple gradient didn't feel full enough, so I added the spiral thing some episodes had. I think I'll do more spirals for the backgrounds of future Pikmin Bits, it feels creepy, and Pikmin is creepy.

This project was made specifically to go back to claymation. Specifically I wanted to do a claymation with texturing (I used a piece of foam from a hard drive box to create the hexagons in the lizard man's tale). My hot take on animation with dialogue is that I generally am not a game of lipsync. Older Zagreb style animation, even with dialogue, didn't always have lipsync and lipsync wasn't always assumed in animation. I am a huge fan of lipsync focused jokes; when people take the time to make the lipsync funny with ridiculous mouth shapes and weird inbetweens. Outside of that style, I prefer the anime convention of just getting the lipsync on screen and focusing on the poses to sell the comedy. I also developed a style of greenscreening stopmotion that my fellow pro-animators think is an error so I'll clarify: the black lines around the characters are purposeful to evoke cel shading. I made a film about hamsters in stop motion that other animators thought I was greenscreening badly cus I added back in a neon glow affect after greenscreening. Since then I have made that effect more subtle in my work. I also love how digital this background is in contrast to the claymation. This was an early photoshop style trend that has faded and I wanted to bring it back with this work. Anyway it's a film about pee pee. Music licensed by storyblocks and cannot be used by anyone but me. I did the voice. There is also a garage band loop used I believe. Nutty's Running Exercise (Cel Animation)

Okay, this... was another one of my animation class projects done with After Effects, in no particular order. It's a really short one, but there's a bit of a backstory to this one. To sum it up, we had to take a bunch of PNGs and JPGs to turn them into an animated collage. I was kinda stumped on this one. I knew the prompt, being that it had to be a recreation of a key memory or something, but I wasn't sure what to do with this one until the last few weeks before it was due, so I rushed it a bit. They suggested to make it based off what what I enjoy, special memories, or things that I identify with. So, I just went by those suggestions. Here, I've pretty much recreated what it felt like rediscovering JSRF on the XBOX after sleeping on it until late 2019. It kinda became my comfort game to carry me through the 2020's.I was debating on whether or not to use Vail as Street Rat again for this project, (especially since i was already working on a similar thing prior to this class), but since I was running out of time, I just kinda went with it.Here, I kinda did it in the style of ATHF, where I took segmented 2D animations I did in Flash, borrowed a bunch of pictures from the web and slapped a cel shader on them through After Effects to match the art style I was going for.I was running out of time, so the 2D animation was a bit janky initially. But I did go back to smooth out the rough edges. (even if i chose the worst possible time to actively work on it again, i literally started working on this the week before my semester started up to now) This was up in the college's art gallery for a month or two, back in May. (i even added a paraphrased disclaimer like in the game so nobody thinks i'm promoting criminal activity lmao) But I didn't go the first day it showed up. I wasn't very proud of it at first since I was kind of just throwing it together at the last minute, I felt somewhat obligated to submit it to the gallery by my professor (I didn't have to, but she did say there was extra credit involved, and she was genuinely excited to see it up), I felt like it needed a bit more work, and it was only 15 seconds long, really, like about the same length as a TV bumper. So I never got to hear what people thought outside of class. But please, let me know what you think! I'd appreciate the feedback! 9-28-22 edit: DANG!! i didn't expect it to blow up this much and even get a front page feature, thank you so much for the feedback, i appreciate it!! Shrek and Donkey go on a shrekcellent adventure full of onions.

If you can't understand what the video is saying, my apologies. English subtitles are available on the YouTube upload: https://youtu.be/TSpVYQVMw7g Well, here it is. After a month of writing, storyboarding, animating, and editing, my submission for Shrekfest 2022 is finally complete. Once I saw the hilarious fake A.I. generated script of Shrek by the great Keaton Patti in a book he published, I just knew I had to make an epic video based on it. Unlike the submission I made last year, I was able to retain most of my original vision in this final product. This is probably the most advanced animation project I've ever worked on. I finally 2D animated a walk cycle for the first time with Shrek, and perfected my cel shaded CG approach with Donkey and the Gingerbread Man. I did end up having to cut some corners as the deadline approached, such as animating Rumpelstiltskin as an unedited PNG, but I still believe this video represents the peak of my animation skills so far. To stick with the A.I. generated theme, I used a lot of different websites, such as uberduck.ai for the voices of all the characters, makesweet.com for the opening animation, tokkingheads.com for the deepfaked image of the magic mirror, and DALL-E Mini for the backgrounds and certain images such as the realistic Shrek closeup and the dragon donkey. You can find the latter on this website: https://huggingface.co/spaces/dalle-mini/dalle-mini As for the music, I used four tracks from the YouTube audio library, as well as two excerpts from Shrek but the ENTIRE MOVIE is converted to MIDI, which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcehaxidJZk For more information on Shrekfest visit: https://www.the3gi.com/shrekfest.html
