Three friends try to capture and eat the last cow in the world.

HERBIVORES is a short indepedent animation created by Cut the Mustard Animation, a 2D animation studio from Norwich, UK. Created in 48-hours, the film was pitched, written and created in one weekend, a yearly tradition for the team. The film follows three down-and-outs (affectionally called 'hair', 'hat' and 'bald') in a dystopian future where meat consumtion is illegal. After hearing that Wagyu, the last cow in the world, is coming to the UK, they hatch a plan to eat her. The film is written and directed by Liam Gilbey, and animated by Liam, Amy Howard, Eleanor Linder and Finley Geen, among other peers, friends and family who came down to say hi, help out and contribute something to add to the film. The film is animated in TVPaint and Adobe After Effects, with sounds sourced from Freesound or recoreded on-site. Jake Taylor created the original music. We're huge advocates for indie animation, so this is our way to break away from corperate projects and make something wacky for people to enjoy.

[Letter from the External Species Diplomacy] To Successor Nick...Here is the response to your inquiry regarding "The Dietary Habits of Orcs." As you are aware, Orcs primarily consume meat.Their appetite often cannot be satisfied with livestock like cows and pigs, nor even with monstrous beasts. It seems that if something has legs, they will try to eat it—perhaps with the exception of tables... or maybe not. Recently, we have discovered that they consider green insects, often found in dark, shadowy forests, to be a delicacy.Yes, those very bugs you sometimes spot in the gloom of dense woods. Four legs may not have been enough for them—can you imagine deciding to eat such creatures?Their boldness (or, more aptly, their foolishness) astonished our research team. Their savage and crude dietary habits, as you are well aware, also include humans. As you well know, multiple incidents involving Orcs are reported each year. “Know your enemy and know yourself, and you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles.” We appreciate your curiosity and dedication to understanding the ecology of your adversaries. - External Species Diplomacy Dept. Tricky Cow Trailer

The 12th Cyanide & Happiness Animatic short I've worked on!

This is owned by Explosm Entertainment, but I drew and animated everything here! This is an animatic, not the final animation, but if you're interested in how it turned out, click here to watch The Farmer on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BazPeSZpIo This one was extremely fun to pose out and act out, and it was really fun to do non-dialogue voice acting to emote out the actions in the script. I really want to do more stuff like this because it was a cool exercise in acting for both sides of what I do. I was super stoked to design cute lil cows, and as much as I botched the hell outta their hooves, they translated well in final. I practically traced a facial expression that Dave McElfatrick doodles on a sticky-note for the disgusted and disturbed cow backing away, and I held onto that sticky note on my desk for years. I believe Mike Salcedo edited The Farmer's lusty facial expression before he ducks back into his house. Temp music used was a love-letter to talented musicians I grew up listening to, it was Dream Theater's "Misunderstood", a piano cover of "Misunderstood", and then it turned into Andy Timmons' "Farmer Sez"...if you've never heard Andy Timmons before, the guy is a guitar-shredding god, and this particular song was a fun little deviation of what he usually does and I recommend checking his stuff out. Directed by Mike Salcedo
Screenplay by Michael Rousselet
Story by Michael Rousselet, Dave McElfatrick, Joel Watson, Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker I'm the voice of The Farmer.
