Conquer the Foe To all those whose truth has been silenced or forgotten.— RKS _______FOREWORD:Conquer the Foe is Roadkill Studios first ever short film. It is a hand-drawn anti-incidentalist film which pays homage to classic point-and-click Flash game culture. The film began development in March 2025, and was composed, illustrated, edited, written, and published by one amateur artist. All music and artwork was created by me, although some characters and visual elements are deliberate homages to, adaptations of, or parodies of works that influenced the film. At the centre of the film is the film theory principle of anti-incidentalism. The notion that every visible character in a film must have a defined history and identity, irrespective of whether that history is immediately apparent to the viewer. The film is therefore intended to be experienced not merely as a graphic chase scene, but as insight into fragments of a larger world beyond what the viewer sees on screen. The need for a film like this is to fulfil the duty of laying the groundwork for a comprehensive anti-incidentalist narrative long term. In some respect, the "art" of anti-incidentalism is to attempt to prepare for questions that will be asked in the future. The film was created both as an exploration of this principle and as a personal homage to the visual and artistic style of 2010s Flash games. Conquer the Foe is the first major release under Roadkill Studios, and it represents the start of a wider body of work that the studio will continue to develop over time. _______ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:Hundreds of hours were dedicated to the completion of this short film. Although entirely created by one individual, we must thank the developers whose artistic influences enabled this film to be made in the first place. We thank Chriss Martin, Yan Lepage, Mario Boutin, Jo Fortier and Josee Godbout for Desolation: The Stages of Anxiety. Their work on this project is noted for the prominent grim-minimalist art style and inspiration for many character designs in the film. Stage 1 was constructed as a tribute to Desolation.Credit: https://www.kongregate.com/en/games/webcypher?page=7 We thank Hyptosis for The Sagittarian and for his excellent hand-drawn style, which inspired the horde/chase elements of the film and several character designs, particularly in Stage 2.Credit: https://hyptosis.newgrounds.com/ We thank Mateusz Skutnik for Submachine, and for over 20 years of consistent artistic output and contribution to the point-and-click genre, the influence of which cannot go unnoticed for this film.Credit: https://www.mateuszskutnik.com/ We thank Patrick Majewski for Monster Basement and its sequel. We also thank Patrick Majewski for permission to include The Mud Vile from Monster Basement as part of this film.Credit: https://godlimations.newgrounds.com/ We thank Igor Stravinsky for The Rite of Spring. A composition that completely redefined modern music and paved the way for many of the film soundtracks released in the last century. From the creator:To my mentors from the conservatory — whose names have been omitted for privacy — I thank you for your knowledge and expertise in which you shared with great generosity. The role of mentor should not be undervalued, for the role they play in forming a trainee's professional (and sometimes personal) life can be profound. Their contributions both directly and indirectly have helped shape the vision of this film and will define all future Roadkill Studios productions. I remain indebted to them for their dedication, patience, and time they commit to providing guidance and mentorship. _______Stage Descriptions:

Prelude - The point in time before any disturbance. The prelude is the calm before the storm.

Stage 1 - The first stage is the experience of a sudden distressing event; this stage is the realisation that something has gone horribly wrong as panic sets in.

Stage 2 - This is the stage where panic is quickly replaced by a state of blunt, numbing dissociation.

Stage 3 - Stage three is where the density of consciousness reaches its breaking point. Sanity is erased following a flash of light, and the incomprehensible suddenly becomes known.

Stage 4 - Consciousness returns hours later; the embers of the previous stages continue to burn as comprehension slowly reconsolidates. Episodes of delirium continue, with flashes of mnemonic rupture followed by further disorientation. The acute event is over but effects fluctuate over several hours.

Support Roadkill Studios on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/roadkillstudiosofficial NOTICE: This film contains disturbing, graphic, and mature material. In the bustling present day of December 2026, Chris Chan was living his best life in the spotlight. His hit 90s-style sitcom, "Chris Chan: Electric Dreams", penned by the legendary Chuck Lorre of Mike & Molly fame, was topping the charts. Better than any throwback show, it turned Chris's quirky world into laugh-out-loud gold: episodes full of Sonichu zapping trolls, awkward dates, and family moments that hit right in teh feels. Fame had finally arrived. Billboards, fan meetups, custom merch. He even won a snap election to become mayor of Ruckersville, Virginia in a landslide! His first executive order was to rename the town CWCville for real, obviously. Chris was on top of the world! As a kid, Chris had a rough start. His dang ol' dad, Bob, was a gruff handyman type, always tinkering and dropping wisdom like, "Life's full of splinters, son...watch where you step." And his mom, Barbara? To Chris, she was the most beautiful, stunning, gorgeous woman alive, an angel in human form who sewed his favorite shirts and cheered his wild ideas. Through bullies, Sega ruining the color of Sonics arms, and so, so, so many girls who were NOT boyfriend free, his parents guided him toward this moment of triumph. But one ordinary afternoon at the local Starbees, everything shifted. Sipping a Dubai Chocolate Bar Matcha Latte (Available at select Starbucks near you!), Chris spotted a familiar crew of dirty trolls in the corner: the OneyPlays gang. Cory Spazkid doodling hot ladies on a heavily used napkin, Chris (Not Chris Chan. A different Chris with an epic Youtube channel) cracking up, Lyle rizzing up some baddies, and Tomar casually munching on a delicious tree star as always, green and crunchy. "OMG, it's Chris Chan" Cory whispered. They waved him over awkwardly. Chris beamed, spilling latte while attempting to wave back. His Iconic Red stripped shirt was covered in the sticky goodness. This was it. His lowest moment. Then, his phone buzzed: breaking news. Electric Dreams canceled. Ratings crashed, critics slammed it as "too much," Chuck Lorre publicly un-alived. Fans flipped to a better show like Smiling Friends overnight. Chris froze, medallion dropping into the puddle of coffee. The cafe fell somber, fame evaporating like steam from a forgotten cup. Back home in his cluttered room, surrounded by faded dreams, Chris crumbled. Dad long gone, Mom too frail, loneliness hit hard. But a soft zap glowed from his medallion. Sonichu appeared, holographic and loyal. "C'mon buddy, let's run away to some other dimension, together." Chris hugged his old friend tight, tears falling. Fame's peak had led to the deepest valley, but in the quiet tragedy, that spark of imagination endured. The end. I think the disclaimer for the video explains everything in detail, plus I uploaded a video to YouTube where I explained the situation in detail, but it's in Russian and I don't know how to enable auto-dubbing 😅(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZVNV8obv54)In short, this was my first job for which I was supposed to be paid, and as the buyer said, "I'll pay, but only if I can enable monetization on YouTube," after which he disappeared, leaving me emotionally burned out and penniless. After this story, I wanted to get a job at a decent animation studio, but they either told me to go to hell or sent my resume to spam. The situation with indie studios was no better: I was given test assignments, and I wrote back literally day or even an hour befor to clarify certain questions, and they told me they'd simply forgotten about me and hired someone else. And someone else says it's easy to break into the animation industry...😩 #animation #poppy_playtime #cartoon #horror #sad_story #carecatura #la_historia_triste #мультик #попи_плэётайм #анимация #хоррор #грустная_история #музыка #music #musica

Music video for my recent release, "Forgotten Island"!

I realized that I can actually post my music videos here on Newgrounds, as well as on my YouTube channel! If it means that just a few more people might see it, it's worth trying ;) Some lore about my recent track, Forgotten Island: Last year, my grandfather invited me to remake/remix one of his old, never officially-released tracks – and of course, I couldn't say no to that :) He sent me a track called Zapomenutý ostrov (Forgotten Island in Czech), originally created way back in 1986. I was immediately inspired to turn it into a modern, synthwave-ish aesthetic while still honoring its original vibe. It wasn't an easy task, but I poured a lot of love into it and I hope you'll enjoy it. This video was made in Blender; however, I tried to work with EEVEE for the first time, which allowed me to create more scenes while keeping the render times down. Then I finished it in After Effects.

If you like my work, definitely check out some of my other stuff!

Stream the track here: https://tr.ee/S1nsIFN2Y_

ISRC: CZYSY2600001

Postcards from far-off destinations; Greetings From the Dead End.

“GFDE” is a looping animated sequence of landscapes from the fictional afterlife colloquy named “The Dead End”. Here, the souls who have passed on live as they did before. An epilogue of life, many say. However, you can only die once. So here in The Dead End, you either change, are changed, forget, or are forgotten. A vicious cycle that has been recorded for more than Fifty Thousand years. History written by the defeated. Bitter and sweet. Some of these spaces possess a calm, dull, but peaceful. Many of these spaces expel a constant drone of violence. They wade back in forth with one another in an increasingly unpredictable rhythm. From beginning to end, through love and violence. May you reject the environment you cannot stand on, and cultivate new ground to tread. Not just for now, but for the future and what was.

Slimes are a common enemy in The Dungeon and can be found at any level of exploration, any biome although its appearance may differ depending on what it has consumed thus far. It is a creature that envelops itself in a gelatinous substance in order to protect its fragile core. Its only care in the world is to consume and grow in order to protect itself. More often than not a slime will remain at its primary stage as it cannot procure enough materials or minerals in a timely manner in order to evolve, but the ones that stumble upon differing types of lucky finds (forgotten storages, defeated adventurers that carry many different types of ingredients, treasure chests, etc) are able to use the excess minerals in order to create a new shape for themselves. The shape they evolve to be is not consistent and it depends on many factors such as what they’ve eaten, environmental traits and obstacles etc but they all consume in the same way as illustrated below. One consistent thing is the way that they consume. For example, a mace lodged in a slime from an adventurer that succumbed to the slime's attacks. The slime will use the next few days, sometimes weeks, to dissolve the mace in the weak acid found within the gelatine. The slime can speed up the process by moving its body and agitating the object to create more friction between it and its “flesh”, however this takes a tremendous amount of energy and most slimes prefer to go about their business, letting their protection take care of the process

It is about an artist gone insane, or made insane by an ancient deity, demon-like and made of marble, with horns protruding from its eyes. ViXDiary dives into themes of being forgotten as an artist, dealing with addictions, and having to exist as a fly in a world of humans, where nobody cares to hear your buzzing.. From Artitled's symbolic journey throught he mind of a tiny artist, to Horns In My Eyes where horrors of that which was drawn unto paper came to live, or more so had been real the whole time. Personal abstract horror and mixed media series featuring Stop-Motion and 2D Animation

Disturbing Show For Underrated Artists - ViXDiary!ViXDiary is a personal abstract horror and mixed media series featuring Stop-Motion and 2D Animation combined with live action. It is about an artist gone insane, or made insane by an ancient deity, demon-like and made of marble, with horns protruding from its eyes. ViXDiary dives into themes of being forgotten as an artist, dealing with addictions, and having to exist as a fly in a world of humans, where nobody cares to hear your buzzing..From Artitled's symbolic journey throught he mind of a tiny artist, to Horns In My Eyes where horrors of that which was drawn unto paper came to live, or more so had been real the whole time. And from the nightmare like Liver Devil to Sickoholic - a one man's journey of instigated self destruction🪰If you would like to donate me money as gratitude for and the betterment of my work - don’t hesitate! It is all put into and used to improve my art!
