a traditional animation; complex loops are one of my favorite ways to work with and teach animation, so i found a way of turning those into a short and exploring all the noise that accumulates. 24 sheets of paper. color correction and camerawork in Blender, sound in Ardour, final export from Kdenlive

160 draws + more than 1 week to make this

I created this animation for a stop-motion class project. I was quite happy with the result, and I’ve always wanted to make a higher-quality version using FlipaClip. If I do, I’ll upload it to YouTube and on this acount

Shucks animation-My take (Paper stop-motion demo)

I've decided to upload some of my older drawings and animations from the past few years, so here's my Revolutionary Girl Utena fan animation, the first animation I ever did back in 2021. Back then I didn't have a drawing tablet or animation software, so I had to draw every frame on A4 paper and scan them in one by one on the printers at my university library. Good times!

Chu-Chu does a flip - Revolutionary Girl Utena fan animation

Started rewatching Nichijou and it got me thinking about doing a little animation using the audio from the rock paper scissors intermission. I did something like this in SFM over a decade ago, so it was fun to compare myself now to myself then!

The Sisters Play Rock Paper Scissors And NOTHING HAPPENS

I think it would be nice if the Street Fighter team further embraced the cultural aesthetic in a full fledged story mode, idk it's all hypotheticals and I'm just putting my feelings on paper

The 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. animated!

This animation is a sequel to my very first hand-drawn animation. This time around, I used a Huion drawing tablet instead of drawing with purely a mouse. The quality is quite a bit different . . . maybe I'll need to remake the first at some point . . . Check out the original animation here, if you haven't seen it yet: <a href="https://youtu.be/2xDUeHmDdMI" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Super Mario Over the Years! 1</a> - Unfortunately, you'll have to watch it on YT because I didn't have a NG account back then :( Isn't it technically the 41st now of Super Mario Bros?: Lol, yes - this project is a culmination of short vids I've been putting out during the 40th anniversary across my socials, plus a bunch more! I still wanted to call this an animation for the 40th, as it's the bigger milestone year than the 41st. I also just work slowly, and had a bunch of ideas, causing the release time to continuously get pushed back. Art Direction I've had the thought for quite some time to make a more faithful animation to the Mario series to emulate and honor the stylistic choices of Yōichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. My decision on the art direction also came down to me wanting to "understand the generations of Mario” from its official art standpoint. Furthermore, I wanted to embellish some of Mario's movements, not limited to the games, to give a greater sense of action and adventure! I referenced all types of official cover art, licensed activity books, instruction manuals, classic 80s/90s commercials and other promotional material for the games and time periods. It took way more effort than my past simpler, often rough character animations - but it was totally worth it! For later games in the franchise, including games like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey Characters, I choose to fuse the official render designs with the linework used in the manual art in the earlier games. I wanted the animation to have the hand drawn feel, but still have the evolution of Mario's design aimed to hit several of the "key poses" from the Super Mario Bros official art, and “bring them to life” in the animation. In order to execute this idea, I started with several of the key frames as these key poses, with some adjustments (like eye movements, hand placements, or perspective tweaks) to flow with the animation. As far as the backgrounds go, they involve a stylistic approach to Shigehisa Nakaue's work on the fairly consistent Nintendo summer artwork. I tried to simulate this by blending some watercolor texture scans I painted with digital watercolor brushes created in Photoshop to create laying and show a brush stroke on a more rough, coarse paper. The color usage references the internal colors displayed when playing the games on their respective consoles. This challenged me when it came to using a very monochromatic color scheme in Super Mario Land's Birabuto dungeon to quite the opposite of using a wide array of color in Mario's character animation in the Super Mario Odyssey segment. Easter Eggs Woah, you actually read up to this point? Okay, well, I'll let you in on a little secret: this animation is jam packed with a ton of hidden secrets/collectables. Try to spot the following: <ul><li>Bosses and/or friendly side characters from each game</li><li>References to different Nintendo game console generations</li><li>5 cherries to give you "invincibility"</li><li>2 wonder seeds for a "sense of curiosity"</li><li>Franchise game/console codenames</li><li>A bunch of coins. Count all of them if you dare and they may reveal some meaningful Mario number lol . . . The following are variations of coins and values associated with them (does their final value mean anything?):</li></ul>⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Regular/Gold Coin - Simply 1 Coin⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Red Coin (SM64) - 1 Red Coin = 2 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Blue Coin (SM64) - 1 Blue Coin = 5 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Purple Regional Coin (SMO) - 1 Regional Coin = 2 Coins Credits Music in chronological order:0:00 ~ Super Mario Bros 2. - Ground Theme ~ Super Smash Bros. Octopus fact: Small males rip off and throw their genitalia to the female when mating 🐙

In most octopus species, the male just transfers his sperm using a specialized arm called the hectocotylus. But for the tiny ones, like the Argonaut octopus (paper nautilus) and the Blanket Octopus (Tremoctopus), the female is so much bigger and more dangerous that the male has to rip off their sperm-filled arm and throw it like a tiny, autonomous drone, only to often tragically die shortly after.

An owl needs a quick boost to finish his assignment

I made this Fall 2025 for Graphic Design II and never shared publicly until now. It's an ad for a fictional energy drink. Entirely hand-drawn on paper as Red Bull commercials was the primary inspiration for it, with some paper cutout animation. Maybe one day I'll make an entire cartoon the traditional way on paper. Also that's right, a cartoon by me that isn't mature for once, see I can appeal to more than just one age group. Didn't know exactly what to rate it but I figured ''well I'm not gonna peddle energy drinks towards kids'' plus some mild language when the owl says he's screwed so T was the safer route. Come to think of it it's funny now that the teacher didn't say anything about that. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUw-K9jHJQc" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Watch on YouTube</a>

This is a story for the prompt "field" and a bit of "distance" i made in flash use arrow keys to toggle pages music link use arrow keys to toggle pages i tried to be a bit creative with it Special Thanks for im-leia for musicJamirot for this amazing oppurtunityand Newgrounds for their amazing website here is the story (for mobile users) : It was just a regular day at home, chilling, when I heard a voice from above — it was my mom. She told me that tomorrow we are going to take a trip to the fields with my grandparents. "OK," I said. Well, we'll see. Every month we travel to the fields in the countryside just to have a nice day with our grandparents. I really like the fields; it is a silent place to put your thoughts aside and maybe stretch or meditate. When I heard about this, I was excited to go, especially with my grandad. I loved staying with him; he always teaches me cool stuff. Like last year, where he taught me how to make a wooden tent and also taught me how to catch fish. Life here was simple and we were happy. That was until tomorrow, when my mom told me something really tragic. "So, we are going to the fields, but your grandad isn't joining us." "WHY?" I said. "Because… Because… your grandad got a heart attack and passed away," she said while she was sobbing. "WHAT? That can't be…" I said. "It's impossible." I couldn't go to the fields without my grandad. I felt my heart broken from the inside. Then we took the road to the fields. I felt depressed. Now, who would teach me how to make cool things and tell me old trivia? And now he's dead. What's the point of going anyway, you might ask? So, they're hosting my grandad's funeral in the fields. I needed to go; it will be the most important day of my life. That way, I can tell him my final goodbyes. The trip felt long, way too long than it should be. Every mile we crossed, I felt sadder, more depressed. As he was my only best friend in this whole universe, I never had any friends. Everyone likes bullying me for some reason. He was the only one who understood me; he was ME. So, finding out that he's dead just didn't feel right, but I had nothing to do. That's life — people live and die. That's why we need to live the best of it, spend every little second with your family, because you won't be seeing them again. The road went on and on, like it was stretching. It felt like eternity. "Honey, wake up," mom said. I thought we had arrived at the fields, but no — we just stopped at the gas station for a quick rest. I felt devastated. My family went inside to order a quick snack. I didn't have the appetite to eat anything; I just waited in the car. I really wanted to see my grandad one last time in my life. I felt like they took forever to finish ordering. I couldn't wait to go. I saw them exiting the gas station. "FINALLY!" I said. They came back with snacks. "Take some," my sister said while trying to give me a bag of chips. "No thanks," I said. I wasn't that hungry anyway. We took the road, driving our way to the fields — slowly but surely — crossing beautiful landscapes, giant farmlands, and stunning mountains. For a second, I forgot about everything. I was mesmerized by the magnificent views of the wilderness: giant trees, long stretching lakes, and fascinating wildlife. And before I knew it, we finally arrived at the fields. "Oh, here they are!" our grandma shouted while waving her hands. I saw her from far away. When we parked our car, we were greeted by our grandma, but something felt off, like a missing puzzle piece — my grandad was that missing puzzle piece. The trauma hit me again. I instantly remembered everything. I really missed him. I didn't have the chance to see him again. "SNAP OUT OF IT!" my mom said. My grandma led us to the house, where I saw a lot of familiar faces — my uncle, my aunt, and my cousin. "Wanna play something?" he said. "What the hell? Are you SERIOUS? It's a funeral! A FUCKING FUNERAL!" Everyone started staring at me. "Sorry!" I said, but he dragged me away anyway. We went outside in the beautiful sunset, playing soccer and passing the ball. "So, what are you into right now?" my cousin said. "Yeah, nothing, what about you?" I said. "The same," my cousin said. We were kinda just awkwardly passing the ball over and over again with basically no purpose. After passing the ball for about 20 minutes, my mom called me. "Get in here, son," she said. I went to her. "What's the matter, mom?" I said. "Your grandma wants to give you something." She said. I was curious. "What is it?" I said. "Follow me and you'll see." I followed my mom, then I saw my grandmother holding a big can of some sort. "What is this?" I asked. "It's your grandad's time capsule," she said. I was shocked — my grandad's time capsule, that's so COOL! I really wanted to open it. My grandma gave it to me and I started to open it in no time. I found a lot of vintage stuff, like old Star Wars action figures, his old yo-yo that looked SO OLD, old newspapers from the 1970s, and a letter? I picked up the piece of paper. It read: June 23rd, 1982 "Hi there, it's me. I am 15 years old now. I fell in love with this year. I met a lot of new friends and learned a lot of cool new stuff. When I grow up, I will become an engineer, establish a new family, and maybe even meet my grandchildren in the future." I was touched by it. I felt better with this letter. It felt like my grandad was still alive with us. This letter was the cure to my depression and my sadness. I challenged myself to also meet new friends, learn new cool stuff, establish a family, and someday meet my grandchildren in the future. But for now, I just sat down to observe the nature around me. "I wish I could meet you again." THE END

Writer's jam submission 2026 - Dragged to the wild

A paper sailor finds a certain ingredient for soup for his unwell parents.

This is an animated short which was originally uploaded to YouTube in October of 2025. I made it in uni for a project to experiment with rotoscoping animation, hence the rotoscoped elements of the short. The short focuses on a paper sailor who finds a box of crayons which bring colour back to his unwell parents who live in the local pier. Ending music. Calypso Beach Walk - Doug Maxwell
