Funny animation about the ongoing war between pens and pencils

War and Pencils (2015)

I made this years ago and never uploaded it here. Haven't tried my hand at animation since, but I'd like to get back into it eventually. Anywho, I came up with a loose premise and let my buddy ad lib all the dialogue. Everything was all hand drawn on paper with ink pens and scanned. Ended up being around 200 sheets. The music was public domain at the time. I’m not sure if any changes have been made in the way of licensing, though the music is so old that I highly doubt it. Hope ya laugh. Thanks for looking. 🤙

What teaching aliens about Sonic the Hedgehog in the future will be like

I worked on this for a couple days. I really wanted to play with spring bones and this was a cool way to do that. I used iphone face mocap for the aliens. I have used mocap where I precisely linked up the face but I really wanted only vaguely lip syncing action. I almost considered just having them just jiggle to talk. This also gave me a chance to push eevee a little bit in blender. I was under the impression that eevee couldn't do subsurface stuff but it totally can. You can see subsurface work in the glow from lights inside the aliens. I modeled everything except the notebook and pens (Those objects and the textures for the whole world come from my Poliigon license). I really wanted the boring notebook so there was some realism. I actually spent some time dreaming up alien pens but it didn't ground the piece. The music and background noise are from storyblocks and licensed through there. I also was amazed at how well camera settings still worked in eevee. Because of the lack of certain light stuff I didn't think I could use rack focusing on light sources as affectively as I did. From a writing stand point: fuck sonic, am i right? I also actively had to restrain from drawing more bad sonic. It's sooo fun to draw sonic badly. I basically would look at a real official sonic art and then make every mistake I normally make my head do when drawing. So if I saw a hand I would normally figure out the orientation of the thumbs and fingers but I just wouldn't and so on. It was really great. I may make more bad sonic art. I am exclusively putting this animation on Newgrounds. I really wanted to make something like Egoraptor had done on here but updated and worthy of this site and I hope everyone likes it. Story of a curious little creature who loves to cling onto anyone it can

Burr is a curious little creature who loves to cling onto anyone it can get close to, however due to its nature as a burr, it is torn away and rejected by all it comes in contact with. In the end will it manage to find another it can bond to? ------------------------------ Burr was created as my final Thesis film at the Sheridan Animation Program in 2021. I had some fun screening it at a few film festivals, and now that that’s over I’ve decided to finally upload and to premiere it on Newgrounds before anywhere else. For this film I wanted to try something different from what I normally do and experimented with realistic looking assets, both digitally painted and taken from photographs. I wanted it to also look simplistic in execution, taking reference from paper cut out animations rather than hand drawn. As for the story and characters, I wanted to make the type of world that could be found in a child’s imagination. The overall idea came from a trait I had as a child to take inanimate objects and pretend they were living characters. I would take pens, pencils, erasers, and rulers out of my desk, and play out imaginary adventures with them. I realized that years later, that was pretty much what I did as an animator and wanted to pay homage to it. While thinking of an idea for the film, I found Burr plants all around my college and decided to use the same concept of imagining what it would do if it was a living creature. (I also enjoyed getting them stuck on me running through fields as a kid and wanted to revisit that childhood memory) Originally the story focused on a variety of imaginary creatures found in nature and created from a child’s imagination, from Acorn Rats to living Maple tree Spinners, but in order to narrow the scope of the story, Burr became the primary focus. It would be cool to come back and explore more of this world sometime in the future. Special thanks to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/rcampbellmusic" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@rcampbellmusic</a> for composing the soundtrack for me. Brain Loop

Repost old art done 2017 Im really sorry that I haven’t spoken on this video, I kinda haven’t got confidence to record myself, it not talking that bothers me, its the fact I can press play and hear my voice again and again XD im fine chatting on livestreams and in person I can talk until your ears bleed off.
Maybe I get over it one day but meh depends on how these video go.
But do let me know if you prefer hearing a voice over on these videos and if anyone knows how to get over the whole I hate hearing myself thing please let me know. So now let blab about the fARTS
This was my 1st time using sharpies to colour normally they just sit around on the side doing nothing or being used for the most random scribbles lol
I did record the lineart getting done but my camera was a twat and decided to mess up the recording
for the lineart I used a letraset fineliner as my black sharpie was looking naff (tip was flat) I did try using the copic fineliner but that one smudged quite a lot even when I left it to dry for abit. As the sharpies are had where quite bright vibrant colours I went with an 80’s theme (im an old git 80’s baby)
colouring with them was fun thou I was unsure what I was doing with them, I was amazed I managed to get the pens to slightly blend I also did the super simple background couple days later because when I finished colouring the girl I was like I aint got a clue what to do for the background and scared I go OTT with it and reck the piece but couple days later I google some ideas for 80’s pattern and find a simple one that would work. Big head up if your gonna do this, have a door and window open seriously I was a pratt and did it in a small room door and windows closed and it gave me a banging headache. Hope you enjoyed watching the video! Tools used Letraset Fineliner

I used ibisPaint X and iMovie to make this, the art is pretty messy because I don’t have one of those iPad pens, and also it is my first movie, enjoy!

EDIT- Thanks for frontpage!
EDIT 2 - People keep asking about the music, so songs in order of appearance are:
Bazooka Tube by Sulek
Festive Sounds of Rachel by Patrick Hoctor
It probably helps if you have seen the original SuperVillain: <a href="http://www.newgrounds.com">http://www.newgrounds.com</a> /portal/view/364913
All my work is done by hand with pens and colored pencils, computers are only involved in editing and putting in titles, etc. This film is the result of probably around 40-50 hours of work total.
Enjoy!

Ultimate Gaming Parody 2

The parody of ridin' dirty by weird al yankovich

Hello there. It's late so i won't say much. Well the song is white and nerdy a parody of Ridin dirty .
Lyrics:
They see me mowin' my front lawn
I know they're all thinkin' I'm so
White and nerdy Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Can't you see I'm white and nerdy
Look at me I'm white and nerdy I wanna roll with the gangstas
But so far they all think I'm too
White and nerdy Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
I'm just too white and nerdy
Really, really white and nerdy First in my class here at MIT
Got skills, I'm a champion at D&amp;D
M.C. Escher, that's my favorite M.C.
Keep your 40, I'll just have an Earl Grey tea
My rims never spin, to the contrary
You'll find that they're quite stationary
All of my action figures are cherry
Stephen Hawking's in my library My MySpace page is all totally pimped out
Got people beggin' for my top eight spaces
Yo, I know pi to a thousand places
Ain't got no grills but I still wear braces
I order all of my sandwiches with mayonnaise
I'm a wiz at Minesweeper, I could play for days
Once you've see my sweet moves, you're gonna stay amazed
My fingers movin' so fast I'll set the place ablaze There's no killer app I haven't run (run)
At Pascal, well I'm number one (one)
Do vector calculus just for fun
I ain't got a gat, but I got a soldering gun (what?)
Happy Days is my favorite theme song
I could sure kick your butt in a game of ping pong
I'll ace any trivia quiz you bring on
I'm fluent within JavaScript as well as Klingon Here's the part I sing on... You see me roll on my Segway
I know in my heart they think I'm
White and nerdy Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Can't you see I'm white and nerdy
Look at me I'm white and nerdy I'd like to roll with the gangstas
Although it's apparent I'm too
White and nerdy Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
I'm just too white and nerdy
How'd I get so white and nerdy I been browsin', inspectin' X-Men comics
You know I collect 'em
The pens in my pocket, I must protect them
My ergonomic keyboard never leaves me bored
Shoppin' online for deals on some writable media
I edit Wikipedia
I memorized Holy Grail really well
I can recite it right now and have you R-O-T-F-L-O-L I got a business doing websites (websites)
When my friends need some code, who do they call?
I do HTML for 'em all
Even made a homepage for my dog, yo
I got myself a fanny pack
They were havin' a sale down at The Gap
Spend my nights with a roll of bubble wrap
Pop, pop - hope no one sees me, gettin' freaky I'm nerdy in the extreme and
Whiter than sour cream
I was in AV club and glee club
And even the chess team
Only question I ever thought was hard
Was "Do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?"
Spend every weekend at the Renaissance Fair
Got my name on my underwear They see me strollin', they laughin'
And rollin' their eyes cause I'm so
White and nerdy Just because I'm white and nerdy
Just because I'm white and nerdy
All because I'm white and nerdy
Holy cow, I'm white and nerdy I wanna bowl with the gangstas
But oh well, it's obvious I'm
White and nerdy Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
I'm just too white and nerdy
Look at me I'm white and nerdy
