Bouncy (SHORT)

A cozy-ish cabin scene with a few spooky characters doing small things in the background.

Here's an animation I rendered in Blender 4.1. It's a cozy-ish nighttime cabin scene with a few spooky characters reading or doing small things in the background, along with some spooky music playing and some ambient fire crackling sounds (basically mimicking those lo-fi videos a bit). The characters are Karaka and Kiduna, both by an artist called Merafume. The models were made by Sumsnermin. I used a procedural toon flame material for the fire This animation was actually made last year for Halloween , but all of the materials and modifiers that the models had were a lot for this meh-level computer to handle. Rendering it took over 70 hours total over about a month of separate sessions. I couldn't meet the Halloween deadline, so I saved the video for the next year. Conquer the Foe To all those whose truth has been silenced or forgotten.— RKS _______FOREWORD:Conquer the Foe is Roadkill Studios first ever short film. It is a hand-drawn anti-incidentalist film which pays homage to classic point-and-click Flash game culture. The film began development in March 2025, and was composed, illustrated, edited, written, and published by one amateur artist. All music and artwork was created by me, although some characters and visual elements are deliberate homages to, adaptations of, or parodies of works that influenced the film. At the centre of the film is the film theory principle of anti-incidentalism. The notion that every visible character in a film must have a defined history and identity, irrespective of whether that history is immediately apparent to the viewer. The film is therefore intended to be experienced not merely as a graphic chase scene, but as insight into fragments of a larger world beyond what the viewer sees on screen. The need for a film like this is to fulfil the duty of laying the groundwork for a comprehensive anti-incidentalist narrative long term. In some respect, the "art" of anti-incidentalism is to attempt to prepare for questions that will be asked in the future. The film was created both as an exploration of this principle and as a personal homage to the visual and artistic style of 2010s Flash games. Conquer the Foe is the first major release under Roadkill Studios, and it represents the start of a wider body of work that the studio will continue to develop over time. _______ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:Hundreds of hours were dedicated to the completion of this short film. Although entirely created by one individual, we must thank the developers whose artistic influences enabled this film to be made in the first place. We thank Chriss Martin, Yan Lepage, Mario Boutin, Jo Fortier and Josee Godbout for Desolation: The Stages of Anxiety. Their work on this project is noted for the prominent grim-minimalist art style and inspiration for many character designs in the film. Stage 1 was constructed as a tribute to Desolation.Credit: https://www.kongregate.com/en/games/webcypher?page=7 We thank Hyptosis for The Sagittarian and for his excellent hand-drawn style, which inspired the horde/chase elements of the film and several character designs, particularly in Stage 2.Credit: https://hyptosis.newgrounds.com/ We thank Mateusz Skutnik for Submachine, and for over 20 years of consistent artistic output and contribution to the point-and-click genre, the influence of which cannot go unnoticed for this film.Credit: https://www.mateuszskutnik.com/ We thank Patrick Majewski for Monster Basement and its sequel. These games established an artistic vision that largely inspired Stage 2. We also thank Patrick Majewski for permission to include The Mud Vile from Monster Basement as part of this film.Credit: https://godlimations.newgrounds.com/ We thank Igor Stravinsky for The Rite of Spring. A composition that completely redefined modern music and paved the way for many of the film soundtracks released in the last century. From the creator:To my mentors from the conservatory — whose names have been omitted for privacy — I thank you for your knowledge and expertise in which you shared with great generosity. The role of mentor should not be undervalued, for the role they play in forming a trainee's professional (and sometimes personal) life can be profound. Their contributions both directly and indirectly have helped shape the vision of this film and will define all future Roadkill Studios productions. I remain indebted to them for their dedication, patience, and time they commit to providing guidance and mentorship. _______Stage Descriptions:

Prelude - The point in time before any disturbance. The prelude is the calm before the storm.

Stage 1 - The first stage is the experience of a sudden distressing event; this stage is the realisation that something has gone horribly wrong as panic sets in.

Stage 2 - This is the stage where panic is quickly replaced by a state of blunt, numbing dissociation.

Stage 3 - Stage three is where the density of consciousness reaches its breaking point. Sanity is erased following a flash of light, and the incomprehensible suddenly becomes known.

Stage 4 - Consciousness returns hours later; the embers of the previous stages continue to burn as comprehension slowly reconsolidates. Episodes of delirium continue, with flashes of mnemonic rupture followed by further disorientation. The acute event is over but effects fluctuate over several hours.

Support Roadkill Studios on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/roadkillstudiosofficial NOTICE: This film contains disturbing, graphic, and mature material. Hi everyone, this is a short animation I made in my spare time because I've been playing M

These are stressful days for me. To take my mind off things, I decided to improvise a short animation inspired by Metal Gear Solid 4. I’ve been playing this installment lately and am trying to achieve 100% completion. Old Snake tries to smoke his cigarette, but Liquid is in a playful mood.

The 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. animated!

This animation is a sequel to my very first hand-drawn animation. This time around, I used a Huion drawing tablet instead of drawing with purely a mouse. The quality is quite a bit different . . . maybe I'll need to remake the first at some point . . . Check out the original animation here, if you haven't seen it yet: Super Mario Over the Years! 1 - Unfortunately, you'll have to watch it on YT because I didn't have a NG account back then :( Isn't it technically the 41st now of Super Mario Bros?: Lol, yes - this project is a culmination of short vids I've been putting out during the 40th anniversary across my socials, plus a bunch more! I still wanted to call this an animation for the 40th, as it's the bigger milestone year than the 41st. I also just work slowly, and had a bunch of ideas, causing the release time to continuously get pushed back. Art Direction I've had the thought for quite some time to make a more faithful animation to the Mario series to emulate and honor the stylistic choices of Yōichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. My decision on the art direction also came down to me wanting to "understand the generations of Mario” from its official art standpoint. Furthermore, I wanted to embellish some of Mario's movements, not limited to the games, to give a greater sense of action and adventure! I referenced all types of official cover art, licensed activity books, instruction manuals, classic 80s/90s commercials and other promotional material for the games and time periods. It took way more effort than my past simpler, often rough character animations - but it was totally worth it! For later games in the franchise, including games like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey Characters, I choose to fuse the official render designs with the linework used in the manual art in the earlier games. I wanted the animation to have the hand drawn feel, but still have the evolution of Mario's design aimed to hit several of the "key poses" from the Super Mario Bros official art, and “bring them to life” in the animation. In order to execute this idea, I started with several of the key frames as these key poses, with some adjustments (like eye movements, hand placements, or perspective tweaks) to flow with the animation. As far as the backgrounds go, they involve a stylistic approach to Shigehisa Nakaue's work on the fairly consistent Nintendo summer artwork. I tried to simulate this by blending some watercolor texture scans I painted with digital watercolor brushes created in Photoshop to create laying and show a brush stroke on a more rough, coarse paper. The color usage references the internal colors displayed when playing the games on their respective consoles. This challenged me when it came to using a very monochromatic color scheme in Super Mario Land's Birabuto dungeon to quite the opposite of using a wide array of color in Mario's character animation in the Super Mario Odyssey segment. Easter Eggs Woah, you actually read up to this point? Okay, well, I'll let you in on a little secret: this animation is jam packed with a ton of hidden secrets/collectables. Try to spot the following:

Bosses and/or friendly side characters from each game

References to different Nintendo game console generations

5 cherries to give you "invincibility"

2 wonder seeds for a "sense of curiosity"

Franchise game/console codenames

A bunch of coins. Count all of them if you dare and they may reveal some meaningful Mario number lol . . . The following are variations of coins and values associated with them (does their final value mean anything?):

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Regular/Gold Coin - Simply 1 Coin⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Red Coin (SM64) - 1 Red Coin = 2 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Blue Coin (SM64) - 1 Blue Coin = 5 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Purple Regional Coin (SMO) - 1 Regional Coin = 2 Coins Credits Music in chronological order:0:00 ~ Super Mario Bros 2. - Ground Theme ~ Super Smash Bros. HUGE UPDATE FOR TRAUMA PETS!

i dunno im kinda just fricking around don't take this seriouslu

Was playing around with a GarageBand plugin and made a cool sound (melody inspired by this song oops: https://youtu.be/PLJCcZPWiV8). Then I wanted to do something with it, so after some thought I pictured flashing between photos to the melody. Once I thought of that I wanted "something simple" art-wise and pictured a different solid color for each flashing image then decided to use my OCs and then this happened auhwah. Anyways feel free to use the song just credit me n stuff. Characters (left to right) are Tippie, Topper, and Clover, from my story "Best of Luck!!"

By Your Side (flash warning?)

The Cats are over being bossed around by humans!

im used ToonSquid which is the reason the animation KINDA looks better.. as u can see, my animation KINDSSAAAA gets better as the video progresses. The characters are Dr. Neptune, and as u can see an episodic character named Mr. Cat which is one of my OC’s from my fictional original story of a fictional country. Dr. Neptune is voiced by my best friend Caelus! Mr. Cat is voiced by my sister! the intro song is made by me, as well as Dr. Neptunes theme song and the song that starts playing when the cat in the car appears… i was just bored uhu

Small experimental animation project I did for a class Spring 2025. You may recognize it's characters from Screwypilled Tooncels as at this point in time a lot of ideas for that series were starting to come together. I was working on test animation and writing Rick's Demon Dilemma so River, Styx and Lavathorn appearing here was my way of previewing them to people. Likewise, you can see a Hellhound from Hellhounds, and Fuzzy and Fluffy from Fuzzy and Fluffy, who first appeared in a 3D animation project. You can tell I was really starting to plant the seeds for my future work here. This was actually a part of a VR installation where people could watch it in a virtual world and it was projected up drive-in style. My professor was kind of a zealot for all this dumb techy gimmick stuff that I can't even begin to understand I just wanted to make silly cartoons. My pitch for this was Roger Rabbit meets FNAF. It's actually called Liminal Locust, in reference to the name of the warehouse the final exhibition took place(some of the photos here are even from the warehouse) but obviously that doesn't make too much sense out of the building. And let me tell you, that night was PAINFUL. They focused on our VR work for like 30 minutes max and the rest of the night was devoted to listening to these awful ''experimental'' musicians who were just screeching and playing noise from a box, I was laughing so hard and holding onto my friend for dear life. Other Weirdcore Toons art Watch on the 'Tube

We finally completed Splatoon Raiders, and it was a blast! We had that animation in the oven for a while: we wanted to release this during summer, but we were too busy playing. Enjoy!

Can she build it? Yes she can!

A short animatic/animation of Gianni and Cordelia

(Audio is from outtakes from Black Butler II with both Michael Tatum and Brina Palencia) I started this while sleep deprived almost two weeks ago and while this was just going to be a quick bit about how while I draw during a stream I looked up to just see Cordelia, I could not tell you what possessed me to lock in and not only animate something, but also shade it While I'm happy with it, it also took forever, so even though I've been released from whatever fugue state I was in to return to Romeul bullshit don't expect him to be buttery smooth [Also, as a side thing, I think it's immensely ironic that Michael Tatum is not only in two Yana Toboso created anime but that he voices entirely opposite ends as a hypercompetent demon butler (Black Butler) and a severely incompetent headmaster who just delegates bullshit onto his students (Disney: Twisted-Wonderland The Animation)]

After a G&D update, Cosmo assists Tails with a new invention!

The fourth episode to my Genies and Dragons shorts series, Cosmo's VR-Ventures. This one starring Tails, playing as a Technomancer that gets Cosmo's help in building a new mana-powered construct called the Mage-oid. This one isn't as action-packed as episode 3 was - this one is largely an excuse to get Tails involved in some threesome stuff :P If you liked this animation, check out my previous episodes of Cosmo's VR-Ventures, or check out my "Genies and Dragons" AU comic series. I'm also working on a game based on it, but it's not playable as of now. Hope you all enjoy it! Coyote vs. Acme - Now Playing (fanmade)

“Okay so uhhh hi everyone, I’m just an everyday loser who does everyday loser stuff. One day I was epicly breaking into some poor grandma’s house where I found this vhs tape of “The Slur Slugs” cartoon in a box that says PLEEEEEASE DO NOT OPEN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! which seemed more like a suggestion than a demand. But while I watched this, I remembered this airing on TV when I was a little kid! I was watching my favorite show tadc where Jax had a baby until suddenly the video crashed out and started playing a bunch of weird videos about the fnaf pizzeria, Mandela Catalog, and even some urbanspook paintings, an employee training tape like I was watching the Walten Files in here, even Toy Story showed up at some point. It was easily the spookiest thing I’ve ever seen in my life and I even had a heart attack it was so frightening!!!! So here I am in the hospital rn after recovering this whole vhs and spending it on YouTube, I hope other people get a kick out of how creepy and spooky and scary this is so my sacrifice was not in vein! This totally isn’t a big parody of analog horror videos and their cliches and how funny they are, that would be ridiculous!! Heh….yeah…. ANYWAYS, ENJOY WATCHING!” -Anthony Hi Connor here! This video was very experimental since me and a friend thought this would be a funny idea. So after a few delays it’s FINALLY finished! This is easily the video where I collaborated with friends the most so make sure to support everyone listed below :) NOT FOR KIDS!!! A report between 3 Petrieu on a small planet located near the borders of Riquis territoryA world where Riquis forces have partially withdrawn to join the Great Battle, allowing small research teams from the Voxsaria Empire to investigate Riquis worlds, which remain extremely hostile This video was not made with AI in any way (clanker) everything comes from my own imagination The dialogue can be quite long, but I tried to make it sound like military radio communications, inspired by the original MW2 and the Combine from Half-Life 2 Because I absolutely love listening to military radio communications and having them playing in the backgroundIt also gave me the opportunity to practice writing conversations between characters As for the voices, they come from Apple, because my English is not good enough yet to use my own voice in my animationsAs for the sound effects used in this animation, most of them come from Epidemic Soun I hope you enjoyed it, and I wish you a good day

Jaiden’s Bitesize Hobbies - Conspiracy Boards (SNEAK PEEK)

Hi Everyone! I hope you all are enjoying #IndieAnimationDay so far, and all the Sneak Peeks / Showcases / Previews of all the RAD & EXCITING Animations by all the Fabulous Indie Creators! (I know there’s a bunch of Animated Shorts & Series I’m looking forward to seeing more of!!) For the Past 8-9 Months, I have been working away on trying to create a New Animated Short, one that I would (Hopefully) like to become something bigger on my channel and that project is… JAIDEN’S BITESIZE HOBBIES • SYNOPSIS: “Jaiden’s Bitesize Hobbies” is a Character-Focused, Slice-of-Life Anthology, delving deeper into glimpses of the Day-to-Day Hobbies & Activities between our Main Duos - Jaiden & Kianna and Byron & Sabrina, including others like Brenda and Eleisiya, as they find themselves in plenty of hijinx, such as pulling an All-Nighter to fall down a Conspiracy Rabbit Hole, catching themselves a Billy Bass by the Harbor Side, or getting too hopped up with Caffeine during a Basketball Game in the Park. • The Series is Based on My Self-Produced Comic Series - Jaiden’s Wildlife Journey (Available for Purchase via the Link Below)- (https://ko-fi.com/s/5ebd202364) ——— Storyboards have been COMPLETED Since January, Voice Recording has been COMPLETED Since May, and I am Almost Half-Way Completed with Animation on the First Short, even though that’s a ton of progress made, Animation is still Very Time-Consuming to create… and since I am the Sole-Animator behind this Project, and have conventions planned for the Fall/Autumn like IN-MOTION (London), THOUGHT BUBBLE (Yorkshire) & INKBLOT (Manchester)… I’m not able to get “CONSPIRACY BOARDS” ready for the Initial Mid-Late Fall Release (as it is a 4-Minute Mini-sode, and i’ve only just finished nearly the First Minute / ACT I); but I have simultaneously been working on a “Shorter Mini-sode” (1-Minute) that I’ve gotten (1/3) completed, so that’ll take over the Mid-Late Fall Slot! The Other Mini-sode titled: TABLE FOOTBALL - As they both wait for their refreshment orders to come back, Jaiden notices that there’s something playing on Kianna’s Mind… so to help take her edge off, she suggests they practice playing Table Football to pass the time. ——— While it may take longer to see the release of these Animated Projects - like “Jaiden’s Bitesize Hobbies”, Please be sure to follow the Official Instagram Page over @jaidensbitesizehobbies for More Updates on the series! The king of the portal tries to tell us the alphabet

25 years since 🅱️ passed through the portal, really old ain't? I tried to make an animation for today in just a few hours for Clock Day — and well, this is how it turned out — but it actually ended up looking pretty cool. This is a test to see what silly crap I can do in Flash 8 that one can do in CapCut

Flash animation is so fun to use when you pretend it is a video editing software like CapCut; anyway I made this to celebrate my 20th birthday and I used a bunch of funny images and videos to make a weird cartoon lol The background music is a SVM7963CEG playing Happy Birthday
