PEACHES AND CREAM

After dying, a cat must get used to the peculiarities of existing without a body.

The Amazing Story of the Phantom Cat is an animated short that I wrote, animated, and scored between December 2022 and April 2023. It was my first experience making a 2D animated short, so it was a cascade of challenges that turned into countless learning experiences.I made the animation using Krita. Hours and hours of drawing, erasing, and drawing all over again. I had already composed the music long before, but I arranged it specifically for this short, trying to understand the logic of timing and repetition in animation, using LMMS.I was lucky enough to have some great ghostly friends—José Haidar, Marcelo Cáceres, Agustina Conti, and Daniela Barrionuevo—lend their voices to the narration and characters.I hope you enjoy The Amazing Story of the Phantom Cat! Beyond the joy of bringing this project to life, this short film allowed me to connect with incredible people from the world of animation, mainly through its participation in film festivals. In October 2023, The Amazing Story of the Phantom Cat was screened at FAN – Festival Audiovisual de Neuquén (Argentina), as part of the Official Selection of National Animated Shorts. In December 2023, it was also part of the Official Selection of Animated Shorts at AnimaVerso Festival, held in Florianópolis (Brazil). In January 2024, it was screened in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia) as part of EDO 2024, and in May of the same year, it was screened at Anima Latina in Buenos Aires, Argentina.I never imagined the cat would get to visit so many places.

Satina Episode 1 - Bring Your Demon to Work Day

The 31st Cyanide & Happiness Short I've Worked on!

This is owned by Explosm Entertainment, but I drew and animated everything here! This is an animatic, not the final animation, but if you're interested in how it turned out, click here to watch Prison Pie on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7_c8T4zXeM Since The Prison was the second short I ever worked on, I wanted to pepper in as many references to it as possible. I didn't want to go off the rails with it by having a full-bodied character like Big Hug Bill stealing the spotlight, so I opted for the face-tattoo'd dude and a few other extras that were featured in the short. Jim Bob from Last Meal is also in the lineup, which puts this short chronologically before it in the C&H universe. One thing you might immediately notice, the reversed notes on the characters- I had initially composed it moving from right to left, and Mike flipped it in a quick edit. I don't know why I tend to do that, but I like to think I broke that habit. I had a ton of fun with the smoke lines, and I have NO EARTHLY IDEA why I made her hair so shiny. None at all. Even as I was doing it I don't why I was doing it. I am getting better at drawing lady hairstyles, but this is probably my most shameful. She's like a slicked-up latina in this, but it doesn't look good at all, and I apologize.
