4koma Girls- Dreaming of electrical mythics

After dying, a cat must get used to the peculiarities of existing without a body.

The Amazing Story of the Phantom Cat is an animated short that I wrote, animated, and scored between December 2022 and April 2023. It was my first experience making a 2D animated short, so it was a cascade of challenges that turned into countless learning experiences.I made the animation using Krita. Hours and hours of drawing, erasing, and drawing all over again. I had already composed the music long before, but I arranged it specifically for this short, trying to understand the logic of timing and repetition in animation, using LMMS.I was lucky enough to have some great ghostly friends—José Haidar, Marcelo Cáceres, Agustina Conti, and Daniela Barrionuevo—lend their voices to the narration and characters.I hope you enjoy The Amazing Story of the Phantom Cat! Beyond the joy of bringing this project to life, this short film allowed me to connect with incredible people from the world of animation, mainly through its participation in film festivals. In October 2023, The Amazing Story of the Phantom Cat was screened at FAN – Festival Audiovisual de Neuquén (Argentina), as part of the Official Selection of National Animated Shorts. In December 2023, it was also part of the Official Selection of Animated Shorts at AnimaVerso Festival, held in Florianópolis (Brazil). In January 2024, it was screened in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia) as part of EDO 2024, and in May of the same year, it was screened at Anima Latina in Buenos Aires, Argentina.I never imagined the cat would get to visit so many places.

A little fan animation i made from the first computer game i ever played.

<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/472/iu_1472674_5179869.png" width="764" height="430" alt="iu_1472674_5179869.png" data-smart-scale="764,430">Long ago, my dad brought home a shiny new Compaq 486 Multimedia PC. Our first computer with a CD-ROM drive. As a pack-in title there was an intriguing game with the Title "King's Quest". The cover had a beautiful, Disney-Style Illustration and it promised grand adventures in a land filled with fantasy and funny characters. Little did we know, the infamous Boogeyman from Chapter 4 would haunt our dreams for the rest of our childhood. However, what the game DID do for me was make me want to be an animator. But not for Disney or Dreamworks, no. There was an exciting new Medium in CD-ROM's and it needed animation and, so i thought, it all would be traditionally hand-drawn. Well, only a couple of years later the multimedia craze was over and realtime 3D took over the gaming sphere. However, i never forgot King's Quest and my early dreams of being an animator for a company like Sierra. So finally i made the childhood dream come true and produced this little tribute. With much love and appreciation to Roberta Williams, Lorelei Shannon and Marc Hudgins, whos character design sheets i copied rigulously as a 12 year old.
