Nato's Tan Lines

Introducing my solo game project, Misfit Company!

Hey everyone! I left Newgrounds a while ago to pursue some projects, and now I want to come back to start sharing my art and other projects! I am thrilled to finally share what I have been working on through a lot of late nights over the past year! Here is a teaser of my first solo indie game, "Misfit Company."Lead a squad of specialists deep behind enemy lines in a gritty, boots-on-the-ground struggle to dismantle the enemy's war machine from the inside out. You will face down engines of war on land and in the air, all in an effort to prevent the launch of a mechanical abomination that threatens to reshape the continent. The goal of this project is to combine the handcrafted frame-by-frame visuals of the most captivating aspects of today's animated films and television shows while giving the player a seamless action-packed narrative experience where every finisher and interaction feels like a scene from a top-tier animated series. Now that I am finally sharing this project, I want to give some context on how this project has progressed over the past year. I am currently working on this project as a solo developer, and everything you see in the screenshots and teaser was created entirely by me. It's been a ton of fun but a lot to manage while balancing a full-time job and children to raise. In the fall of 2024, I was laid off and was just coming off Halo Infinite, so I took some time to reset, and after a few weeks, I was interviewing with Riot and actually received an offer to join the team down in Sydney. I sadly didn't take the job at that time because I had the opportunity to work with a few past colleagues on some really cool stuff at Meta, and it allowed my kids to stay close to their relatives here in Canada. In November, I was watching Arcane, and I had an idea for a project that hit me like a freight train, and that would become this story of a band of Misfits. As I went into 2025, I already wrote out the foundation for the story and was starting to storyboard out every cinematic the game would require while scouring my film and game libraries for as much storytelling reference as possible. As the year progressed, I started working on the prototype, but also created a large library of concept art, 3D assets, and fully polished characters that would help establish the art direction. What has been really exciting is that I am producing everything on my own with a fresh mindset towards production compared to my AAA experience, and creating a purely handcrafted experience using my 10+ years of experience in games. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming! Steam page!Teaser Trailer!

Misfit Company

Redlo wished for lots of pumpkins, but he his wish gave him a little extra

A boy named [Redlo] finds himself wishing that there where more pumpkins for Halloween so he puts his hands together and wishes upon a star. Out of nowhere, vines start growing and pumpkins start showing! But what is this? This pumpkin is way bigger than the others and it started to glow. The boy is amazed and can't believe his eyes, but he isn't afraid and wants to stick around to see what else will happen. To his surprised the glow became more concentrated on the stem of the giant pumpkin and just like magic a girl emerged. Who could this be? Redlo walked towards her to help her down. This is [Kissty] a girl who mysteriously appears and disappears in random places. She is confused most of the time and will take whatever help she can received. It looks like she has no parents and has been lost for a long time. That alone is reason enough to be afraid but she has one more thing to worry about. She is being followed by a witch and today is no exception. Thinking that she was safe, a peaceful moment to gaze at the moon took a dark turn. The giant pumpkin exploded, the shook wave throwing the kids far away from each other and the witch exposes herself as the fog fades. The children run away from the witch as fast as they can but she keeps shooting green magic at them. Luckily she misses them but one shot in particular got very close. Redlo and Kissty went flying from the impact and started to free fall from a maintain. Against the wind's gust they are able to reach for each other's hand to fall together. As they look into each other's eyes, Kissty sees fear in his eyes. Redlo doesn't understand how she is being so calm and right before his eyes this girl simply vanishes leaving him to fall alone. His confused state makes him forget how scared he was but that didn't last long as he looked down he was able to see a lot of very sharp brambles. Embracing for the impact Redlo closes his eyes. Without his knowledge, a small flower grows larger and larger. The flower is able to soften his fall, and he is completely unharmed. The boy looks around and then up to the sky, up the mountain where he fell from. He sees the witch staring back at him but after lightning strikes she leaves as he is not the one she is after. 🎃👻Thank you all for watching! Do you know the witch's name?👻🎃 Check out the progress for this animation on [Patreon] ! You can also leave a one time donation on [BMAC] I really love making animated shorts like these and this one gives me hope that if I really put my mind to it, I could animate a little animated short every month. I don't think I will anytime soon but maybe? Right now my priority is with my passion project, I still feel like I need to make up for the huge gap between episode 1 and 2. Let me know if you would like to see more random animations in between episodes releases! [Follow me everywhere] Edit: THANK YOU SO MUCH FORVTHE FRONT PAGE! I been getting so much love here on Newgrounds lately I don't know what to say. I am just happy that you all enjoy my animations and art! For example I drew this to hit that this animation was coming soon and it coincidentally also got a front page https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/twoeliz/lost-with-the-pumpkinsI like celebrating when something like this happens by doing a celebratory drawings but since this is an animation that got this opportunity, should I make a celebratory animation instead of a simple drawing? It may be a while but hopefully I can make something nice!

Second animation on Newgrounds! Woooooooo! I hope you enjoyed it. This one was a lot different to make from my first. This was made using various brushes on the new version of Blender. Also, there are two fantasitc musicians. First is 8-BITek whose song 'Nighttime Pixel Quest' is played throughout, and then I also used a song by Magmainia called 'The Mines of Agony' during the closeups of the stain. Be sure to check them out! :D Please let me know what you think and if this new style is any good. :)

Scarlet Witch faces her DC contemporary The Enchantress of The Suicide Squad. The 2 witches are very powerful but who's got the better disses? We know Wanda, the Marvel Queen is much more popular with the success of her Disney+ show WandaVision and she has way more backstory and ties to The X-Men. However, Enchantress is an amazing character herself, she's a demon who possess a doctor and, in the comics, she just learns to live with it as a metahuman. Once believed to have been mutant children of Magneto, the twins are in truth orphans enhanced by the High Evolutionary at Mount Wundagore. The Scarlet Witch became a conduit of chaos magic, allowing her to shift probabilities and warp reality itself in the form of "hexes". After being saved from an angry mob by Magneto, the Scarlet Witch and her brother joined the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to fight for Magneto's mutant supremacy cause. Disagreeing with Magneto's ruthless approach, the twins left him and joined the super-heroic Avengers instead. Enchantress:Enchantress is a powerful, but mentally unstable witch who has fought as hero and villain. Her true identity is the kind-hearted June Moone, although she becomes evil when possessed by the Enchantress entity. She has been a member of the Forgotten Villains, Justice League Dark, the Sentinels of Magic, Shadowpact and the Suicide Squad.#scarletwitch #marvel #avengers

A NSFW Animated Feature staring The Lifeguard from the movie Lilo & Stich

This is my very first full animated feature which I made in Source Filmmaker. I had 10 months experience teaching myself how to animate and then it took 18 months to make this movie. This is why the animation at the end is so much better than at the beginning, so please give it a chance to get going. Also at the seven minute mark (when stitch enters the jungle) the models got updated versions released which also helped improve the quality as the new versions had much better weighting. Furthermore, I lit the first 7 minutes as I went but lit the final 23 all at once at the end once I had more practice so the lighting gets much better at the 7 minute mark too. I myself star in the piece as all of Stitch's lines and also The Lifeguard's horribly out of tune whistling at the start is me too. Seriously, I auto-tuned the hell out of that and it still sounds like shit. Never realised I was so tone deaf. I had animated her whistling though, so I couldn't really edit it out. The ukulele track is SUNNY HOLIDAYS - Free Upbeat Ukulele Background from YouTube which, as the title suggests, is free to use. The piano piece at the beginning is an original composition I wrote myself and have very kindly given myself permission to use. No one else has permission to use it though, because branding. This is but the first of many more NSFW productions to come. Enjoy.

The 31st Cyanide & Happiness Short I've Worked on!

I didn't want to go off the rails with it by having a full-bodied character like Big Hug Bill stealing the spotlight, so I opted for the face-tattoo'd dude and a few other extras that were featured in the short. Jim Bob from Last Meal is also in the lineup, which puts this short chronologically before it in the C&H universe. One thing you might immediately notice, the reversed notes on the characters- I had initially composed it moving from right to left, and Mike flipped it in a quick edit. I don't know why I tend to do that, but I like to think I broke that habit. I had a ton of fun with the smoke lines, and I have NO EARTHLY IDEA why I made her hair so shiny. None at all. Even as I was doing it I don't why I was doing it. I am getting better at drawing lady hairstyles, but this is probably my most shameful. She's like a slicked-up latina in this, but it doesn't look good at all, and I apologize. The 16th Cyanide & Happiness Short Animatic I've Worked On!

This is owned by Explosm Entertainment, but I drew and animated everything here! This is an animatic, not the final animation, but if you're interested in how it turned out, click here to watch The Joke Book on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_VUvvKV9I8 Still riding the high from working on Season 3, I peppered in a couple of references in the mounds of junk in the boys room. Like a Mega Mom comic book and Ultrasoldier poster. In the final, they kept the comic, replaced Ultrasoldier with a real life C&H poster you can buy and own. They added a Painbot from Season 3 into the junk, and threw in Kubesh's amazing Cory Goblin scroll art from the Orca Wars in Season 3 as the boy's poster. Can't remember why I gave the dad such thick eyebrows, but wound up rolling with it. It dips into red line and blue line really heavily as time went on, and that's me going loose with it so the animatic makes its deadline. That after-credits gag is totally me in a mad-dash as I've run out of time to flesh it out with black and white, like I usually do, and enjoy doing. My time management at this point in my career, June of 2017, was getting a little unstable (see earlier animatics about burnout), and looking back on it, I'm pretty proud to say it's gotten a lot better. Unfortunately, there'll be a lot more animatics that have a whole lot of red lines, blue lines to come. I'm doing what I can now to ensure that doesn't happen again. But, whoof. Cyberen Gets AIDS

Many many months ago, I had sort-of stumbled upon an article on KnowYourMeme about some kid's fan-fic of Doom. A game that is one of the first games I ever played growing up, so I hold it close and dear to my heart...when the Literature Portal launches, I'll elaborate...but this kid, "Peter Chimaera's" little fan-fic was so laughably bad, it was awesome. Perusing through some of the derivatives that came through his all-around malformed story, I thought I could have a spot of fun by recording my own dramatic reading of it. So, in a matter of hours, I had recorded lines in different voices, threw in some sound effects I had lying around, and even arranged a soundtrack off my library. The sound file complete, it laid dormant in my hard-drive until I found the time to get around to it for an unpredictable amount of time. Fast forward to Fall Semester 2010 at Collin County Community College; I'm taking Advanced 2D Flash Animation, and the professor told us to pretty much go nuts. Do whatever, anything at all. Hogabeast and I were STILL working on our Starfox parody at the time, but it contained some...not so school friendly material. Though in hindsight, the professor probably wouldn't have cared, I decided to delay the Starfox thing for the umpteenth time (sorry Adam) and storyboarded the .wav of my dramatic reading to Doom:RoE. So, in the span of the entire semester, plus a couple of days (I presented the final with lip-syncs unfinished, Lost Souls disappearing in transitions, and the ending chunk still in storyboard form, and the class still seemed to dig it) I made this little gem to both entertain a Newgrounds audience and whomever stumbled across the same KnowYourMeme article like I did. I had a LOT of fun working on this. For the anal reviewers, keep in mind I did it with the spirit of creative license, but please share your thoughts in the review section completely and thoroughly...one or few word reviews are pointless unless it's conveying WHY you did or did not like it. I hope you enjoy it! Now I'm off to keep pumping out some animation and art! I'm ambitiously hoping to have a significantly higher output for animations in 2011...but I said that last year too, huh? lol The music is 99.9% Audio Portal (There's one swelling note from the original soundtrack left in there from when Stalvern's Dad informs him he will be KILL BY DEMONS) and I gotta say, there's some real talent out there. YOU DON'T NEED COPYRIGHT PROTECTED MUSIC, TANK PEOPLE. Seek & Deploy! :D -G-

As for me making yet another one, I MAY make a Fable III video sometime in the distant future, but I need a pretty good break from screaming into a microphone and burning my retinas out with computer glare every waking moment :) Also, Rodriguez shirt :D (Remove random spaces): http://www.zazzle.com/rod riguez_awesome_shirt-2352 22008320738360 *** So, the title is different on the site than in the movie cause it won't fit in the allotted space, just fyi. So sorry about the large delay in the video's release, but it took a LONG time, my god. I can say for sure that the technical quality is in every way better in this one than the first one, and I really hope the content and jokes are the same. Please enjoy very much :)
-Kyle (White Lightning) Note: Please do NOT post comments along the lines of "you suck," "this is stupid," "this is nothing like Fable II," " Fable III is out already, you idiot," or "Jon looks like the Vault Boy from Fallout." I'm very aware of these opinions and that they are probably true. I'm sure that won't stop you, but worth a shot.
