The Selaikic Historical Society

A short story from a world I'd like to tell a larger story about, eventually.

A very short tale about life on the airship floating over the underworld, a hellscape so terrible it's only competitor is societies self-brutality. A man struggles to make ends meat with what he has, so he's forced to risk his life and go back down to collect more goods to sell.

Preview of my animated Pilot Mechanic Artwork showcasing one scene

Mechanic Artwork is a stop-motion steampunk series with elements of 2D and 3D animation. The Lobroach scene showcases the coast of Central Island, Gearman's City - the show's main setting, its locals and the native sealife. The lobroach is a mutated lobster-like being birthed from red chemicals in the air which alter most flora and fauna. This is a mainly worldbuilding focused scene, where we take a short break to catch a glimpse of the island before going deeper into its city, events, conflicts and people behind them all... Show Premise:The show is about human nature, war and never-ending conflict present in our day to day lives, highlighted through altered events of its original universe. After the events of The Great Chemical War turned the skies red, introducing a never seen before otherworldly element to an already alienated by conflict surviving human population, an oasis arises in the name of Central Island. In its core, however, wounds of the past remain to swell, infecting the island throughout. The infection of ideology and division, human greed and hunger for power, as well as pure hatred toward it all, boiling within the blood of the Island’s citizens. The government of Central Island – Hometown, and the rebels – Liberta Clan, now at constant war for who gets to enact and define the laws amidst desperate post-apocalyptic times. A detective, thrown into the fire of all the conflict to solve a seemingly unimportant case, spiralling into madness discovering its true purpose. A complex story intertwining the many factions and characters awaits your judgement.Welcome, dear viewer, to the world of Mechanic Artwork! ANY SUPPORT FOR THE SHOW IS ENCOURAGED AND WELCOMED! Animation of one of my protags, adapted from a little 20 panel comic in a notebook.

Post #54! Getting the hang of some animation. This is part of my worldbuilding project, adapted from a comic I drew in a notebook called "Mother Screwers".Name edited to be less edgy here. ("Slice of life" + "Screwers") I want to know if you hear a gender in that voice, or you feel it's wholly androgynous. The mothers in question are actually monsters, whose real form is an force of negativity hellbent on destroying universes. It saw a concept that has "propagation" in its nature, and merged with it to bolster itself. The more lifeforms they infect to be them, the faster they can take over universes. The worldbuilding project itself dates back to when I was 9 or 10. I was beefing with my mom in all my immaturity, so I did some worldbuilding where mothers were evil. These bits and pieces of worldbuilding carried over to a while ago, when I decided I wanted to take things to the next level because I thought it would be interesting... So here we are!But I harbor no hate towards IRL mothers. Explanation of some scenes: The fireball was launched into the deep hole, and the mother monster returned to its home realm through a hole it made. Voiced by a friend not on here, who wanted to have a try at voicing.Stitched from 5 separate .mp3s of almost the same names:<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/533/iu_1533279_22917277.webp" width="764" height="216" alt="iu_1533279_22917277.webp" data-smart-scale="764,216">

Who will heed her message?-----Reassured, this did not take 7 months to produce. I actually only started it back in December. The huge lull in time can be attributed half to procrastination, and half to being unsure how to proceed. Longform videos would be cool, but they are WAY too time-consuming. So these shorter segments will do. There's also the issue of getting crucial info and worldbuilding out, and that's where I've REALLY been stumped. I want to show off the meatier ideas I've had for this AU, but to get there requires some buildup you may or may not be interested in. You know, the usual Point A to Point B dispute. Now that I've got a better grasp on where I want to go from here, hopefully I can get the next installment out in a more timely fashion. As usual, check out my other sites for more traditional Cephalovirus entries, as well as just my art in general. Cephalovirus - Message of the Moon

Which currency is the most valuable in post-apocalypse USA?

An animation I made using Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Blender. In an alternate universe where the once heavily populated USA loses most of its population to a mysterious "rapture," currency has been boiled down into little local forms of money. Which is currently the most valuable?

Marsh Escape

This month’s animation was… kind of a last-minute idea. Halfway through October, I decided, “Hey, I should do something for Halloween!”Which meant dropping everything else and scrambling to get a full animation done in a little over a week.I came up with the costumes, modeled them, messaged LavendersVoice (Lucy’s voice actor) to ask what Lucy’s favorite candy should be, and jumped right into the script. At this point, voice recording is a breeze — we’ve got such a good rhythm — but still, I spent two whole days just trying to get Lucy’s chest to squish just right. Priorities, right?Meanwhile, in the background, I’ve been juggling work on the 2.0 models for the upcoming Kickstarter — the big one that’ll fund the first full season of the show. The new version will have a PS2-style visual update to replace the current PS1 aesthetic. Finding someone to rig the model has been a serious challenge, though. I’ve spent thousands trying to get help, but in the end… I wound up just making the new models myself.Hopefully by Christmas there’ll be more to share on that front 🎄Now that I’ve (mostly) got a handle on animating — at least enough that the shots aren’t jarringly ugly anymore — I can finally focus on telling short stories. That means more character moments, more worldbuilding, and finally showing a bit of what’s been living in my head all this time instead of just the emotional “vibe” pieces. Thanks for sticking with me through all the chaos — every bit of support makes it possible for me to keep pushing this project forward.
