Description
The Dragon Age series consists of several role-playing games created by BioWare. It takes place in the fantasy setting of Thedas, which is wracked with supernatural and political conflicts. The series is known for its extremely dark and violent tone, with a deconstructive approach to most Western fantasy tropes: Elves are an oppressed and enslaved race recovering from a past genocide, dwarves live under an isolationist and extremely oppressive caste system, and mages are constantly at risk of becoming possessed by demons. On top of this, the gods of the setting are evil, and the world must fend off an unending swarm of monsters known as darkspawn.
Most relevant to this site are the qunari race, a species of large bull humanoids with their own culture.
