Description

A grandson is the third (or possibly more) generation son to a family that spans more than two relative generations.
This tag probably should be used when a grandparent is also present.

Generation relations

  • great grandparent - 0th (parent of grandparent; this naming convention continues for each generation before this)
    • grandparent - 1st (parent to a child who also has children)
      • parent - 2nd (child of grandparent)
        • grandson - 3rd (son of parent, grandson of grandparent)
          • great grandson - 4th (son of grandchild; this naming convention continues for each generation after this)
