Description

The hymen is the membrane that surrounds or partially covers the external vaginal opening, forming part of the vulva. It can break during sex, causing blood to leak from the vagina. Despite this, the presence of a hymen should not be considered evidence of virginity - contrary to popular belief, it possible for the hymen to remain intact after sex, and a rupture can be faked with hymen reconstruction surgery See Wikipedia's article on the hymen for more information.
