Description
Jirachi (ジラーチ) is a Steel/Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon. It does not evolve, and is not in any egg group.
Jirachi is a small white humanoid Pokémon with short stubby legs and slightly longer arms. On its belly is a third, yellow eye with a teal pupil that is usually closed. On its head is a large yellow hat-like structure with three points, one from the top and one on either side. On each point is a teal tag. Two yellow streamers flow from Jirachi's back, resembling comet tails.
Jirachi is almost always depicted as a humanoid.
Shiny Jirachi is pink instead of white.

Shiny Jirachi is pink instead of white.
It is said to sleep for 1000 years, only awakening for 7 days. During this time its third eye opens and it grants the three wishes written on its tags.
Jirachi is heavily associated with the Japanese holiday of Tanabata.
- The tags on its head resemble tanzaku, and similarly have wishes written on them.
- It is said to awaken for seven days once every 2000 years; Tanabata is associated with the number 7.
- There have been several events in Japan in which Jirachi was distributed on Tanabata; no other Pokemon has been distributed to celebrate it.
