Description

The Belgian Malinois is one of four varieties of belgian_shepherd. They have a dark mask and fawn or red coats, usually sable, with short hair. They somewhat resemble a German Shepherd but are slightly smaller, with an athletic and agile build. They are known for their high intelligence, drive, and energy, making them well-suited for most working roles, particularly as police and military K-9s. Malinois are commonly interbred with the dutch_shepherd by police or militaries who prioritize working ability over pedigree, which can increase the confusion between the two breeds.
