Garchomp (Japanese: ガブリアス Gaburias) is a dual-type Dragon/Ground pokémon introduced in Generation IV.
It evolves from Gabite starting at level 48. It is the final form of Gible.
Garchomp can Mega Evolve into two forms:
Mega Garchomp using the Garchompite. Mega Garchomp was introduced in Generation VI.
Mega Garchomp Z using the Garchompite Z. Mega Garchomp Z was introduced during Generation IX, in the Mega Dimension DLC for pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Garchomp is referred to as a pseudo-legendary Pokémon by fans.
When Garchomp Mega Evolves, several of its features become more angular, including its head and shoulders. A row of five tooth-like spikes sprouts from each side of its abdomen and red spikes grow from its knees. Its dorsal fin always has a notch on it, regardless of gender. The claws and fins on its arms melt from the excessive Mega Evolution energy and morph together to form sharp, red blades.
The increased energy of Mega Evolution turns Mega Garchomp's arms into blades. Because it takes great pride in its winglike fins, it is enraged at the sight of them melting into weapons. As a result, it is much more violent after Mega Evolving. Mega Garchomp viciously tears up the ground and its opponents to pieces with its scythes. While mostly seen grounded, it retains its ability to fly.
