Panther can refer to a number of different feline species. Use a more specific tag if possible.

Common uses (e621 use in bold):

A leopard, especially a solid colored one.
A term used in certain regions to refer to cougars (puma)
Any of the members of pantherinae, a subfamily that includes lions, tigers, jaguars, leopards, snow leopards, and clouded leopards.

Do not tag cougars with panther. This is a regional term and is not taxonomically accurate.
