/CTG/ - Chinese Tools & Gadgets For DIY General
Most of the tools we buy today are all manufactured in China, and just imported, assembled, local logo slapped, and marked up for 3 x's the price. What are some tools or gadgets you've bought from Chinese websites that turned out better than expected for your DIY projects and hobbies?

Post pics or screenshots of the item you bought and the price and whether it was good or a ripoff.

Optional: What else were you able to afford for your DIY because of the money you saved by buying from China? Can be more Chinese tools or something western made.

/PG/ - Plumbing General
I have a copper 1/2 pipe with a temporary sharkbite fitting. I don't have the tool to remove it nor can I get my wrench on the pipe or behiind it on the plastic part to pinch and pull it by force. Do I absolutely need to pinch the plastic part of the sharkbite fitting to be able to pull it off, or can I just put a wrench or pliers around by the cap? I'm trying to avoid destroying a metal cover or cutting into drywall just to pinch the plastic to pull it off. Is it possible to remove these without having to pinch the tiny plastic part circled in the image?

Plumbing is about the only DIY category that doesn't have its own general here for some reason. Figured I could maybe get the ball rolling with a question and a provide a thread where people to ask their own since I feel bad for killing a thread for just one question.

Flir/ infrared cameras
Are cheap-ish infrared cameras worth it? Pic related (or similar stuff from various other brands or word-salad companies directly from China) is about 200€.
Is that good enough to find spots where my house is leaking heat or letting in cold?
Maybe checking my cabling that theirs is no heated up areas too.
Or is such a cheap, low-res device worthless?
I guess for doing IR porn, I’d need a better one, but for /diy/ that seems ok enough.

Flashlights, Lamps, and Headlamps For DIY Work
What lights do you guys use for your diy projects? What headlamps do you guys use for up and close work, what do you guys use for inspecting, and what lamps/attachable lamps do you guys use to light up a workspace that isn't normally lit like a crawlspace or attic or underneath a car, etc? What lights have worked out for you guys and more importantly, WHAT LIGHTS TURNED OUT TO BE SHIT?

Well I guess I fucked up. We live in a 250yr old farm house with stone and dirt foundation. We have had a major rat (eastern pack) infestation this year. Got some d-con and they dead quick. Apparently, the poison no longer contains a desiccant????? and these bitches are rotting in the walls ect. The places I’ve narrowed down to where their nests are are nearly inaccessible and also full of cat shit. This stink is in our clothes. How fucked am I?
