Conquer the Foe To all those whose truth has been silenced or forgotten.— RKS _______FOREWORD:Conquer the Foe is Roadkill Studios first ever short film. It is a hand-drawn anti-incidentalist film which pays homage to classic point-and-click Flash game culture. The film began development in March 2025, and was composed, illustrated, edited, written, and published by one amateur artist. All music and artwork was created by me, although some characters and visual elements are deliberate homages to, adaptations of, or parodies of works that influenced the film. At the centre of the film is the film theory principle of anti-incidentalism. The notion that every visible character in a film must have a defined history and identity, irrespective of whether that history is immediately apparent to the viewer. The film is therefore intended to be experienced not merely as a graphic chase scene, but as insight into fragments of a larger world beyond what the viewer sees on screen. The need for a film like this is to fulfil the duty of laying the groundwork for a comprehensive anti-incidentalist narrative long term. In some respect, the "art" of anti-incidentalism is to attempt to prepare for questions that will be asked in the future. The film was created both as an exploration of this principle and as a personal homage to the visual and artistic style of 2010s Flash games. Conquer the Foe is the first major release under Roadkill Studios, and it represents the start of a wider body of work that the studio will continue to develop over time. _______ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:Hundreds of hours were dedicated to the completion of this short film. Although entirely created by one individual, we must thank the developers whose artistic influences enabled this film to be made in the first place. We thank Chriss Martin, Yan Lepage, Mario Boutin, Jo Fortier and Josee Godbout for Desolation: The Stages of Anxiety. Their work on this project is noted for the prominent grim-minimalist art style and inspiration for many character designs in the film. Stage 1 was constructed as a tribute to Desolation.Credit: <a href="https://www.kongregate.com/en/games/webcypher?page=7" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.kongregate.com/en/games/webcypher?page=7</a> We thank Hyptosis for The Sagittarian and for his excellent hand-drawn style, which inspired the horde/chase elements of the film and several character designs, particularly in Stage 2.Credit: <a href="https://hyptosis.newgrounds.com/">https://hyptosis.newgrounds.com/</a> We thank Mateusz Skutnik for Submachine, and for over 20 years of consistent artistic output and contribution to the point-and-click genre, the influence of which cannot go unnoticed for this film.Credit: <a href="https://www.mateuszskutnik.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.mateuszskutnik.com/</a> We thank Patrick Majewski for Monster Basement and its sequel. A composition that completely redefined modern music and paved the way for many of the film soundtracks released in the last century. From the creator:To my mentors from the conservatory — whose names have been omitted for privacy — I thank you for your knowledge and expertise in which you shared with great generosity. The role of mentor should not be undervalued, for the role they play in forming a trainee's professional (and sometimes personal) life can be profound. Their contributions both directly and indirectly have helped shape the vision of this film and will define all future Roadkill Studios productions. I remain indebted to them for their dedication, patience, and time they commit to providing guidance and mentorship. _______Stage Descriptions:<ul><li>Prelude - The point in time before any disturbance. The prelude is the calm before the storm.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 1 - The first stage is the experience of a sudden distressing event; this stage is the realisation that something has gone horribly wrong as panic sets in.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 2 - This is the stage where panic is quickly replaced by a state of blunt, numbing dissociation.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 3 - Stage three is where the density of consciousness reaches its breaking point. Sanity is erased following a flash of light, and the incomprehensible suddenly becomes known.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 4 - Consciousness returns hours later; the embers of the previous stages continue to burn as comprehension slowly reconsolidates. Episodes of delirium continue, with flashes of mnemonic rupture followed by further disorientation. The acute event is over but effects fluctuate over several hours.</li></ul> Support Roadkill Studios on Ko-Fi: <a href="https://ko-fi.com/roadkillstudiosofficial" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://ko-fi.com/roadkillstudiosofficial</a> NOTICE: This film contains disturbing, graphic, and mature material. Finding a Rockman's funny bone

My beginner 3D final project from last spring. It's the greatest movie you will ever see!

Yesterday was my birthday! I've wanted to upload this for a long time but couldn't because Scarlett Johansson's voice actor was extremely busy and couldn't complete her lines until two days ago. Lil notice: This is the sequel to The Day That Benton Became a Thief, which was another final project in 2025.You can watch it here: <a href="https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/1022553">The Day That Benton Became a Thief - a Claymation short</a> As for me uploading this to YouTube, I'll wait after I upload the 3rd part in a month or two as it is already finished and is my favorite one so far. More news coming soon!

Benton 2: Benton is 3D and back at it again!

Hehe. I had gotten carried away and had a lot of fun animating and didn't realize how soon Madness Day is, oops... This project took me more than 7 months of work, actually I think the first draft of this animation started in january 2025. I'm probably not gonna do something similar to this in the future. it caused me so much pain!!!! Aughh!!! it was fun though. even if my fingers fucked up Supporters (Thank You!) Exhumation sequel Jair clip (Feat Hackerman)

This was without a doubt the craziest thing I've ever done in my life lol. This animation is a sequel to "Shonenfication 1," which I made for the previous Madness Day.Last year, I only had a month to prepare.I was really happy with the result, but I never imagined I'd get so much supportespecially after seeing Krinkels watch my animation on a livestream.I felt compelled to outdo myself this year. So, I decided to give myself three months of prep time to really polish it this time around. You have no idea how much work went into this lol.It was three long months of non-stop work on this projectcountless sleepless nights to achieve this result. I know there are people who prepare for much longer and create much longer animations. I know it's not perfect; the animation has some issues with audio direction and music syncing Still, pulling this off entirely on my own at this level of quality was a hell of a lot of work, but every second was worth it. Words can't describe how grateful I am for this event. I might not have a huge following here on NG, but Shonenfication gave me a massive boost on other social media platforms. Thanks for watchingI gave it my all. I hope you enjoyed it, and I'll see you at Madness Day 27 ;) Youtube: PiuyNGTikTok: piuy0111Insta: piuyng Madness Combat by: Matt Jolly "Krinkels" /// Isso sem dúvida alguma foi a maior loucura que eu já fiz na minha vida até agora kkkk Essa animação é uma continuação do "Shonenfication 1" que eu fiz no Madness day anteriorAno passado eu tive apenas um mês de preparo. Day 27 ;) Youtube: PiuyNGTikTok: piuy0111Insta: piuyng Madness Combat by: Matt Jolly "Krinkels"

Shonenfication II (Doom of Nexus)

The 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. animated!

This animation is a sequel to my very first hand-drawn animation. This time around, I used a Huion drawing tablet instead of drawing with purely a mouse. The quality is quite a bit different . . . maybe I'll need to remake the first at some point . . . Check out the original animation here, if you haven't seen it yet: <a href="https://youtu.be/2xDUeHmDdMI" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Super Mario Over the Years! 1</a> - Unfortunately, you'll have to watch it on YT because I didn't have a NG account back then :( Isn't it technically the 41st now of Super Mario Bros?: Lol, yes - this project is a culmination of short vids I've been putting out during the 40th anniversary across my socials, plus a bunch more! I still wanted to call this an animation for the 40th, as it's the bigger milestone year than the 41st. I also just work slowly, and had a bunch of ideas, causing the release time to continuously get pushed back. Art Direction I've had the thought for quite some time to make a more faithful animation to the Mario series to emulate and honor the stylistic choices of Yōichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. My decision on the art direction also came down to me wanting to "understand the generations of Mario” from its official art standpoint. Furthermore, I wanted to embellish some of Mario's movements, not limited to the games, to give a greater sense of action and adventure! I referenced all types of official cover art, licensed activity books, instruction manuals, classic 80s/90s commercials and other promotional material for the games and time periods. It took way more effort than my past simpler, often rough character animations - but it was totally worth it! For later games in the franchise, including games like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey Characters, I choose to fuse the official render designs with the linework used in the manual art in the earlier games. I wanted the animation to have the hand drawn feel, but still have the evolution of Mario's design aimed to hit several of the "key poses" from the Super Mario Bros official art, and “bring them to life” in the animation. In order to execute this idea, I started with several of the key frames as these key poses, with some adjustments (like eye movements, hand placements, or perspective tweaks) to flow with the animation. As far as the backgrounds go, they involve a stylistic approach to Shigehisa Nakaue's work on the fairly consistent Nintendo summer artwork. I tried to simulate this by blending some watercolor texture scans I painted with digital watercolor brushes created in Photoshop to create laying and show a brush stroke on a more rough, coarse paper. The color usage references the internal colors displayed when playing the games on their respective consoles. This challenged me when it came to using a very monochromatic color scheme in Super Mario Land's Birabuto dungeon to quite the opposite of using a wide array of color in Mario's character animation in the Super Mario Odyssey segment. Easter Eggs Woah, you actually read up to this point? Okay, well, I'll let you in on a little secret: this animation is jam packed with a ton of hidden secrets/collectables. Try to spot the following: <ul><li>Bosses and/or friendly side characters from each game</li><li>References to different Nintendo game console generations</li><li>5 cherries to give you "invincibility"</li><li>2 wonder seeds for a "sense of curiosity"</li><li>Franchise game/console codenames</li><li>A bunch of coins. Count all of them if you dare and they may reveal some meaningful Mario number lol . . . The following are variations of coins and values associated with them (does their final value mean anything?):</li></ul>⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Regular/Gold Coin - Simply 1 Coin⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Red Coin (SM64) - 1 Red Coin = 2 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Blue Coin (SM64) - 1 Blue Coin = 5 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Purple Regional Coin (SMO) - 1 Regional Coin = 2 Coins Credits Music in chronological order:0:00 ~ Super Mario Bros 2. - Ground Theme ~ Super Smash Bros. Beset by bunny boys, Bambilocks battles brutally: she won't be stopped today!

A sort of spin-off sequel to my fucked up fairy tale animation: <a href="https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/879987">The Barbed Baroness</a> "Bambilocks", the deer girl who is on a quest for revenge against the Baroness, is beset by bunny boys on her journey to seek help from Grandma Wulf. Taken out so many she has, they have a particular taste to catch her for themselves. But with every bunny she defeats, she understands them better, and is only becoming stronger! This animation was kind of an animation test for me that grew arms and legs. I wanted to experiment with making animations feautring large swinging movements and weaponising inconsistency in proportions. Im not sure why/how the rhythm game icons came into it at all honestly, it just felt like a fun thing to do i guess lol? The animation was digitally hand drawn on Sketchbook and then some post production in DavinciI made the animation like two years ago but never published it until I found someone to compose some music for it lol. I got that done recently and I threw colour on it and got it finished quickly at last now! Dude, where's our spaceship?

Who'd have thought s̶e̶a̶g̶u̶l̶l̶s̶ sequels could be such trouble?

Wild Goose Chase

After having his ship sink, RadioTube returns to Clocktopia to find it's creator.

Happy Clock Day! I wanted to use the noir setting again and I think this turned out well! I wanted to have a little more continuity between my movies so this acts as a sequel to 'OTB - Littorally the Worst' and a spiritual sequel to 'The Return'. I figure the setting is fitting as I loosely associate it with my early days in the Clock Crew. I first found the CC while I was in college in a much more urban environment than where I have lived both before and after. Likewise, I was into a number of games and shows at the time that had a similar vibe/aesthetic, such as Halo 3: ODST and The Big O. At any rate, it makes for a nice change of setting.

Into the Shadows

Avery visits her favorite neighbor for help with a BIG favor, in her pants!

This animation only took me a whole week to make, who would've figured making 2 people fuck takes time &amp; effort hmmmmmmmmmm. Really impressed with the editing/drawing i had to do to make this animation, was alot of fun to do! Might also have so audio hiccups &amp; visual issues due to being created/rendered with library wifi on a laptop that likes to stutter. (Yeah crazy place to make NSFW stuff i know) Despite being my 1st NSFW animation, i still hope you enjoy watching! If this does well enough &amp; doesn't get blammed hopefully. i'll do more NSFW animations like this, either a sequel to this one or a whole new story! Thanks to <a href="https://x.com/OpenNSFWSP" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OpenNNSFW </a> for most of the sfx, mainly the sex ones. Added the rest from Deltarune/Undertale, various memes, &amp; many other misc sources from memes. Music sources in order: <ul><li>Half-Life: Opposing Force</li><li>What A Mario World Album</li><li>Spongebob Supersponge</li><li>Rabbids Go Home</li><li>Kirby &amp; The Amazing Mirror</li></ul> Extras i made while making this animation:<a href="https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/awoked-from-you8/some-characters-4-a-short-nsfw-animation-project">https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/awoked-from-you8/some-characters-4-a-short-nsfw-animation-project</a>

Hey, this animation was about 5 years old, but I never posted it to newgrounds and we're doing a little push today to feel if I should invest time into a sequel! Yes Velvet asked Vision to drive off screen and yes Velvet read the man his miranda rights... after...

ToiletMen 2: The Quest For The Excuse To Make Another Shitpost Animation

A bear and a doll have outgrown their current job market as a child's playthings.

Meet Stuffles and Jodi, a pair of toys who've outgrown their current job market as a child's playthings. As they ponder new employment opportunities, they wonder if they can serve any other kind of purpose in life. This film was made in 2019, my final project as a student at Concordia University's Film Animation Program. It remains one of my favorite works, and with a topical mainstream toy sequel having been made since then, maybe this will be just as topical now.

Toy Unemployed

"Your previous clandestine romp with Meredith at the No Tell Motel apparently has a sequel. Girls always talk about everything, and the Corpos are no different. Originally uploaded to YouTube: 15th August 2021 A sequel to a bunch of improvised parodies I did with some mates of mineI was so proud of what I came up with before (for some unfathomable reason) that I decided it needed a sequel, after all it worked for Pixar, right? ...right?

Ehsh & Bruuk 2

A compilation of animations I was hired to make for the sadly-canceled Dreamsettler.

On June 16th, 2022 I was hired to make some animations for Dreamsettler. It was to be the sequel to the acclaimed Hypnospace Outlaw, a game taking place in a fictional version of the internet in a universe slightly different from our own, but was unfortunately canceled in 2025. Though the game never saw the light of day, I at least have the opportunity to share some of the stuff I put together for the project. Dreamsettler was to feature its own version of Flash, known as "Oomph", along with several cartoons made with this fictional software. This is a compilation of all the completed "oomphs" I made for Dreamsettler, along with a small handful of not-so-completed works. They are meant to capture the look and feel of early-to-mid 2000's flash animation with all their charming flaws... but maybe not so much the crude crassness. It was supposed to be a family-friendly product, you know! Most of the things that look bad were made that way on purpose, except for the ones that weren't. Can YOU tell which is which? Enjoy what could have been! (Ruffle emulation makes the buttons on the menu flicker when clicked. I don't know why it does that or how to fix it, it looks fine in the actual flash file. That's what I get for using decades-old software for the sake of authenticity!)

Dreamsettler "Oomph" Compilation

the "thrilling" sequel to the video of all time.
