Goku Gets Bullied [Action Figure Stop Motion]

This is a story for the prompt "field" and a bit of "distance" i made in flash use arrow keys to toggle pages music link use arrow keys to toggle pages i tried to be a bit creative with it Special Thanks for im-leia for musicJamirot for this amazing oppurtunityand Newgrounds for their amazing website here is the story (for mobile users) : It was just a regular day at home, chilling, when I heard a voice from above — it was my mom. She told me that tomorrow we are going to take a trip to the fields with my grandparents. "OK," I said. Well, we'll see. Every month we travel to the fields in the countryside just to have a nice day with our grandparents. I really like the fields; it is a silent place to put your thoughts aside and maybe stretch or meditate. When I heard about this, I was excited to go, especially with my grandad. I loved staying with him; he always teaches me cool stuff. Like last year, where he taught me how to make a wooden tent and also taught me how to catch fish. Life here was simple and we were happy. That was until tomorrow, when my mom told me something really tragic. "So, we are going to the fields, but your grandad isn't joining us." "WHY?" I said. "Because… Because… your grandad got a heart attack and passed away," she said while she was sobbing. "WHAT? That can't be…" I said. "It's impossible." I couldn't go to the fields without my grandad. I felt my heart broken from the inside. Then we took the road to the fields. I felt depressed. Now, who would teach me how to make cool things and tell me old trivia? And now he's dead. What's the point of going anyway, you might ask? So, they're hosting my grandad's funeral in the fields. I needed to go; it will be the most important day of my life. That way, I can tell him my final goodbyes. The trip felt long, way too long than it should be. Every mile we crossed, I felt sadder, more depressed. As he was my only best friend in this whole universe, I never had any friends. Everyone likes bullying me for some reason. He was the only one who understood me; he was ME. So, finding out that he's dead just didn't feel right, but I had nothing to do. That's life — people live and die. That's why we need to live the best of it, spend every little second with your family, because you won't be seeing them again. The road went on and on, like it was stretching. It felt like eternity. "Honey, wake up," mom said. I thought we had arrived at the fields, but no — we just stopped at the gas station for a quick rest. I felt devastated. My family went inside to order a quick snack. I didn't have the appetite to eat anything; I just waited in the car. I really wanted to see my grandad one last time in my life. I felt like they took forever to finish ordering. I couldn't wait to go. I saw them exiting the gas station. "FINALLY!" I said. They came back with snacks. "Take some," my sister said while trying to give me a bag of chips. "No thanks," I said. I wasn't that hungry anyway. We took the road, driving our way to the fields — slowly but surely — crossing beautiful landscapes, giant farmlands, and stunning mountains. For a second, I forgot about everything. I was mesmerized by the magnificent views of the wilderness: giant trees, long stretching lakes, and fascinating wildlife. And before I knew it, we finally arrived at the fields. "Oh, here they are!" our grandma shouted while waving her hands. I saw her from far away. When we parked our car, we were greeted by our grandma, but something felt off, like a missing puzzle piece — my grandad was that missing puzzle piece. The trauma hit me again. I instantly remembered everything. I really missed him. I didn't have the chance to see him again. "SNAP OUT OF IT!" my mom said. My grandma led us to the house, where I saw a lot of familiar faces — my uncle, my aunt, and my cousin. "Wanna play something?" he said. "What the hell? Are you SERIOUS? It's a funeral! A FUCKING FUNERAL!" Everyone started staring at me. "Sorry!" I said, but he dragged me away anyway. We went outside in the beautiful sunset, playing soccer and passing the ball. "So, what are you into right now?" my cousin said. "Yeah, nothing, what about you?" I said. "The same," my cousin said. We were kinda just awkwardly passing the ball over and over again with basically no purpose. After passing the ball for about 20 minutes, my mom called me. "Get in here, son," she said. I went to her. "What's the matter, mom?" I said. "Your grandma wants to give you something." She said. I was curious. "What is it?" I said. "Follow me and you'll see." I followed my mom, then I saw my grandmother holding a big can of some sort. "What is this?" I asked. "It's your grandad's time capsule," she said. I was shocked — my grandad's time capsule, that's so COOL! I really wanted to open it. My grandma gave it to me and I started to open it in no time. I found a lot of vintage stuff, like old Star Wars action figures, his old yo-yo that looked SO OLD, old newspapers from the 1970s, and a letter? I picked up the piece of paper. It read: June 23rd, 1982 "Hi there, it's me. I am 15 years old now. I fell in love with this year. I met a lot of new friends and learned a lot of cool new stuff. When I grow up, I will become an engineer, establish a new family, and maybe even meet my grandchildren in the future." I was touched by it. I felt better with this letter. It felt like my grandad was still alive with us. This letter was the cure to my depression and my sadness. I challenged myself to also meet new friends, learn new cool stuff, establish a family, and someday meet my grandchildren in the future. But for now, I just sat down to observe the nature around me. "I wish I could meet you again." THE END

landing animation

So it was like 2023 (yes this took a long time mostly because my day job got in the way and when I'm too tired I just sit and play really long 4x games) and I was getting back into making my own cartoons again. I was talking to a co-worker at my day job about how he would go to a shisha bar with friends and they decided he smoked too much and used that as an excuse to ditch him and the one guy was smoking a cigar. I was like 'ehh lets base it very loosely on the essence of that but do something different to try and push myself before I get to writing my web series 🤡 ' and I came up with this idea of comparing different types of smoking. It wasn't even necessarily meant to be all that straightforwardly funny but as it went and I was desperate to move on to other projects jokes just kind of emerged from going stir crazy or hiding shortcuts because it was taking too long. I actually really enjoyed designing these guys and they're definitely showing up again, the tall guy was not iterated at all and was exactly how I wanted him to look right away. All the voices I just mimicked from other Australian YouTube shit I liked over the years (see if you can guess them!) because they just fit the specific type of dude I was imagining and this was originally not going to be a big thing but something I put out in a few months that wasn't just something I had to throw together for a jam. God I'm so happy this is out of my brain and people can stop asking if I 'still make cartoons?' for a while before I inevitably make a project way too big again. LMAO. Tried some editing tricks I learned doing a lot of live action editing the last few years too and I think I did okay on that front, a few things compositionally that I'd change but that's for next time, there's a point where you just have to finish and move on. I still have a lot to learn about sound design though, I really want future soundscapes to be a lot richer and to really figure out how balancing works. I regret never having the time to do the classes available when I was doing my masters at film school but I had so much editing to do back then I needed all that time to put docos and short films together. Fuck even my description is taking way too long I just kind of lived this thing forever. Got more cool shit planned for the future! Hope you like xoxoxoxoEDIT: DAILY THIRD!? THANK YOU GUYSSO MUCH!

Blowing Smoke

Little flick vaguely inspired by Jackie Chan.

YT LINK: <a href="https://youtu.be/E8PiyFZ2qS8" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://youtu.be/E8PiyFZ2qS8</a> What do you get when you throw the 15th century, lesbians and Jackie Chan inspired fight scenes into a blender? This mess no one asked for, apparently. Inspired by a joke between Explo and I. As I'm writing this I don't feel very confident in this movie. The choreography was a total nightmare to figure out; I got stuck after almost every move, and enemies had to freeze a few times to set up some gags. I don't think I will ever do this style of action ever again. Shoutout to Jackie for making it work. Made in four months, apparently. I'm getting slower at this stuff. Enjoy anyway, or maybe don't.

Official Halloween commission I solo-animated in sponsorship with Zenless Zone Zero

A special Halloween animation I was commissioned to do for the Hoyoverse mobile game Zenless Zone Zero.I handled everything from adapting to original in-game character designs for a Halloween animation, to screenplay to storyboard to animation and sound design! Originally published on Oct 30, 2024 (Production period Sep 5 - Oct 30)<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2YRCcGt0ek" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2YRCcGt0ek</a> This is the animation I'm proudest of most currently as it's most reflective of my current animation skills. But this performed pretty badly when first published on Youtube. I tried very hard to add in as many cool frenetic action shots with tons of character after I did meticulous research into the game to write the script based off a one line prompt the client gave me. But ultimately this animation that had a production period of 8 weeks didn't perform that well even compared to the 4 week rushed Jane animation. I still like it though from a technical POV and was glad I was able to try out so many different shot ideas. Also the Town with No Name joke was a once in a lifetime opportunity lol. Admittedly the sound design and mixing is rather chaotic and I feel like this might have worked to its detriment since I was continually being pushed by the ZZZ team to add more and more sound effects and voicelines despite preferring to keep it mostly music only. While I considered re-doing the sound mix upon upload to NG, I figured I'll just leave it the same as the Youtube version. Special thanks to my kouhai Percy Kaye who helped with linework and colour fills on some of the bar scenes in the into and Himwo my old German biker friend who helped me with motorcycle research and figuring out if the in-game models were accurate irl lol. TRANSFORMERS VOYAGERS: ANTHOLOGY #19 - "THE SURVIVALIST" Submission for <a href="https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/939987">the Newgrounds Transformers animation collab 2024</a>, clipped out and uploaded individually in all it's self-serious glory - Trapped and backed into a corner, deep into newly-conquered Decepticon territory, one Autobot must do whatever it takes to survive. Crazy how a split second of this ended up in the collab trailer, which then made it onto the official NG YT page with <a href="https://howling-madfoxhatter.newgrounds.com/" rel="nofollow">HOwLiNG-MAdFoxHatter's</a> "Clashing Waves." entry. Voyagers has come a long way from a bored high schooler filming his dusty old FOC Sideswipe and a TLK Barricade he scammed his friend out of fighting beside a printer on a school night. This one also features a number of customs I've made, particularly:<img src="https://uploads.ungrounded.net/tmp/img/1241000/iu_1241264_8518784.webp" width="764" height="716" alt="iu_1241264_8518784.webp" data-smart-scale="764,716">Legacy "Black Galvatron"<img src="https://uploads.ungrounded.net/tmp/img/1241000/iu_1241265_8518784.webp" width="645" height="778" alt="iu_1241265_8518784.webp" data-smart-scale="645,778"> G1 Mini-bot Treadshot again, big thanks <a href="https://crockettdk.newgrounds.com/" rel="nofollow">Crockett</a>, <a href="https://beefythunder.newgrounds.com/" rel="nofollow">Beef</a> &amp; <a href="https://gray.newgrounds.com/" rel="nofollow">Gray.</a>

What teaching aliens about Sonic the Hedgehog in the future will be like

I worked on this for a couple days. I really wanted to play with spring bones and this was a cool way to do that. I used iphone face mocap for the aliens. I have used mocap where I precisely linked up the face but I really wanted only vaguely lip syncing action. I almost considered just having them just jiggle to talk. This also gave me a chance to push eevee a little bit in blender. I was under the impression that eevee couldn't do subsurface stuff but it totally can. You can see subsurface work in the glow from lights inside the aliens. I modeled everything except the notebook and pens (Those objects and the textures for the whole world come from my Poliigon license). I really wanted the boring notebook so there was some realism. I actually spent some time dreaming up alien pens but it didn't ground the piece. The music and background noise are from storyblocks and licensed through there. I also was amazed at how well camera settings still worked in eevee. Because of the lack of certain light stuff I didn't think I could use rack focusing on light sources as affectively as I did. From a writing stand point: fuck sonic, am i right? I also actively had to restrain from drawing more bad sonic. It's sooo fun to draw sonic badly. I basically would look at a real official sonic art and then make every mistake I normally make my head do when drawing. So if I saw a hand I would normally figure out the orientation of the thumbs and fingers but I just wouldn't and so on. It was really great. I may make more bad sonic art. I am exclusively putting this animation on Newgrounds. I really wanted to make something like Egoraptor had done on here but updated and worthy of this site and I hope everyone likes it.
