Wicked we come is a comedy about time stranded survivors.

Hey everyone, this was a project I had floating around for a while, i started fresh with new animation techniques, previously i was creating everything as PNG images and building puppets in OpenToonz. If you have used this before you know its a massive headache, there is a lot of issues, including not being able to preview before you could render, or even not being able to render anything over 50 frames. Thus i took a leap of faith and learned how to us Moho! This program has been a game changer, I'm glad i really knuckled down committed. Anyway this project started as a pipe dream, i had wanted to get some funding from the Australian government to really create something special, unfortunately i didn't fit their criteria (shocker i know). So once again, im on my own, but shit, i honestly loved this, i promised myself i wasn't going to make something with an huge story, but hell, i cant help myself! The Island and the town of Eldridge is built around the U.S.S Eldridge, a ship that was used in the Philadelphia experiment, the island itself is inhabited by people from different timelines, all survivors and all without knowledge of how they got here, Chad from the mid 2000s, Dante from 1105, and Suzie from the far future.Everything was built around the philosophies of Plato, mainly The Cave. not only does this humanise the past, present and future, but it tackles everything from who we are, what are we doing here, and what does this all mean. Chad was a character I've always wanted to make, he essentially just me when im angry, which is why i enjoyed doing his voices so much! i wasn't sure using my normal voice would work as i had used them with previous characters and actually hated them. Suzie was my attempt at actually doing a fun quirky robot character as ive always loved Gur (Invader Zim) and Clap trap.she will be interesting going forth, i have some great ideas for her! Dante was always such a fun character to create! im still honestly not 100% on the design, i tried different designs but nothing landed like this, its basic, i know. Id love to hear some feed back, don't be shy, i appreciate that anyone has watched it, that's enough for me!I do this stuff because i love it, i work all the time! im a qualified baker, but my dream has always been animation and writing, ill never stop, this is my heroine. Much Love, Ryan.

Wicked We Come

this is just a quick animation test for two of my characters, Judge and Wraith.

I attempt to use cloth in the animation for one of the first times, I think it want well enough.

Exploring 4 emblematic paintings from belgium artist, Rene Magritte

Explorations is a collection of 4 emblematic works of Rene Magritte, recreated with current technology and the power of 3D modeling and animation. Starting with

Sheherazade, Rene Magritte (1947)

'Sheherezade is the name given to the pearl-woman object in memory of The Thousand and One Nights' (Magritte, quoted in D. Sylvester & S. Whitfield, René Magritte, Catalogue raisonné, vol. II, Oil paintings and objects, 1931-1948, Antwerp, 1993, p. 387). Shéhérazade appears to have been painted in May 1947 and is considered to be one of the earliest pictures to feature one of René Magritte's iconic motifs, the pearl woman. This picture shows the woman, whose mouth and eyes are shown as islands of flesh surrounded by a mysterious framework of strings of pearls, against a backdrop of a sky hewn out of monumental arches of blue. Next to her on the tabletop are two tall pyramids, a glass of water and a thick, claret-coloured curtain. This manages both to invoke the tradition of the Old Masters of Magritte's native Belgium and also to create an intimacy, a domesticity, a normality, lulling the viewer into a false sense of security that is prised apart by the mirage-like vision of the woman who so bracingly stares out from the canvas like some Orientalist incarnation of the Cheshire Cat. She is some form of apparition, perhaps conjured by the rituals of which the pyramids and water may be the paraphernalia. At the same time, she is the alluring and ornate hostess introducing the viewer to a world that has been rearranged in order to reveal its infinite wonder.

The Liberator, Rene Magritte (1947)

'The Liberator' presents a mysterious scene likely intended to provoke thought and curiosity. It depicts a figure seated against a surreal backdrop of floating architectural structures, with soft clouds embedded within. The figure, shrouded in a red cloak and adorned with a straw hat, lacks a discernible face; instead, there are symbolic images such as a key, a wine glass, a bird, and a pipe on a blank canvas where the torso should be. The enigmatic character holds a peculiar wand-like object topped with a bouquet of facial features and eyes. The figure’s attire and the walking stick it holds suggest a sense of journey or pilgrimage, while the suitcase placed by its side further emphasizes this theme. The overall composition resonates with Magritte’s distinctive style, blending reality with dreamlike elements to challenge perceptions and evoke deeper interpretations.

The Rights of Man, Rene Magritte (1947)

In 1948, while musing on the purpose of the titles he assigned to his paintings, René Magritte proclaimed: “I think the best title for a picture is a poetic one. In other words, a title consistent with the more or less lively emotion we feel when we look at the picture”. Across a series of handwritten manuscripts—now preserved in the Archives of Contemporary Art in Belgium and collectively known as “On Titles”— the artist offered a collection of short statements on some of his recent work. Among these brief notes, Magritte wrote about Les droits de l’homme: "Here, man is reminded of his right to act on objects and change the world"

The Annuntiation, Rene Magritte (1930)

The Annunciation brings together many of the themes, both iconographic and philosophical, that engaged Magritte during his stay in Paris from 1927 to 1930, a period in which he was closely associated with the French Surrealists. The painting shows an unlikely combination of objects. Two large bilboquets (Magritte's term for the objects in his works, which, though imaginary, recall wooden balustrades or chess-pieces) stand next to an oddly shaped piece of paper with a decorative cut-out pattern. Behind them looms a grey metal 'curtain', hung with sleigh bells. Despite its incongruity, this collection of objects seems disconcertingly 'at home' in the rock-strewn landscape beneath the grey clouds in the blue sky. The size of the painting (it is one of the largest the artist ever executed), together with its traditional composition and subtle allusions to paintings of Old Master like Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, and Caravaggio, are signs of the ambitiousness of the work.

Now or Never

Sword squinted at the blinding vibrancy of life that choked the roof of the prison he had been confined to. The polished metal of the chains that trailed from his wrists flashed with the sudden movement as the devil lifted a manacled hand to block out the light. He refused to turn away from the sun's ruthless attack on eyes that had only glimpsed the light that flooded Heaven through minuscule breaks in the thick clouds that blanketed Hell. It was the first time that the devil Sword had ever been far enough into Heaven's territory to see how damnably bright and shiny everything was. From the prisons to the buildings to the clothes worn by those accursed angels, every last thing Sword saw was either white or some shade that was suspiciously close to white. It hurt his eyes. As if the sun wasn't bright enough on its own without helping it along by whitewashing everything! That had to be the reason why the angels' main colour was white, Sword decided. It wasn't because they were good or because they lived in Heaven; it was so they could blind devils by flying through sunbeams. Sword sneered at the wildlife that apparently lived in the deceptively peaceful garden that decorated the roof of the angels' prison for devils. He walked towards an open space that had nothing more offensive than grass and a few pungent flowers and gazed out at the landscape of Heaven. Floating amongst wind-blown clouds like gigantic stone balloons were what Sword could only describe as flat-topped islands. They were connected with a network of flimsy curving staircases and pathways that all seemed to either lead towards where God and the Archangels lived, or downwards, down towards Hell and the distant sea of boiling black clouds. He gazed longingly at storms that raged over Hell's landscape and shifted wings that, while by no means had the size or strength of a full grown devil's, were enough to bear the young devil past Heaven's defences. Unfortunately, the rest of his body lacked the power to do more than cause a disturbance among Heaven's ranks. Massive chains clinked against the warded silver bands that wound around the joints of Sword's wings to tie them shut. The angels took no chances with any devil they captured alive and took to Heaven. If metal inscribed with holy magic failed to restrict a devil's movements, then the sheer weight of the chains would keep any winged prisoner from taking flight without crashing painfully to the ground after travelling a few metres. Such an ill-fated flight had already been attempted by Sword after he freed himself and before he managed to escape the winged pursuit. He was just grateful that Heaven felt it was important feed their prisoners and, thus, allowed Sword to regain enough strength to defeat the guards that wrongfully felt that Sword's less-than-graceful landing was a source of amusement. He grinned at the memory of the fight. Those angels were really no match for a devil of his calibre. "I must admit, I can't help but admire the determination of a devil intent on causing trouble." A clear, young voice called out. Sword whirled around, a fist raised instinctively to release a blast of demonic power even though the warded manacles would prevent such an action. He braced himself against the momentum of the chains that threatened overbalancing him with the extra weight. The target of his ire smiled. 'That's a boy, right? Or is it a girl?' Sword couldn't be certain by just looking at the winged person before him. The angel's next words confirmed Sword's thoughts. "I'd warn you not to do that but it would be useless to say so at this point," the angel --a boy, Sword decided, after listening closely to the voice-- said smugly. The male angel stared pointedly at the web-like burns that radiated up Sword's arms and away from his wrists with such an air of authoritative disapproval that the devil found himself crossing his arms over his chest defensively. Sword hissed slightly at the pain the action caused.
