A Grave Burden

Episode 2 Official Trailer | Talon and the Champions of Saurithia

Nevada turns into a hellish landscape plagued by demons and destruction.

Following the events that occurred during Madness Combat 10 and 11, Nevada has been compromised by hundreds of improbability events that have made reality itself completely unstable. During that period, massive energy readings originating from the most remote places of the Other Side began to appear. In the depths of Purgatory, far away from Nevada, in places beyond the Machine, a reality that had remained hidden all this time beneath Nevada begins to emerge: a new, deeper Hell, even more chaotic than Purgatory itself, where all the remnants of the improbability and madness that occurred in Nevada had been accumulating, until it finally escaped toward the surface. In a small AAHW base, a massive energy leak originating from that deep Hell emerges. Everything depends solely on an ATP soldier, who will have to make his way through an entire Hell if he wants to survive and alert his fellow agents of the events about to take place. Madness Nevada's Hell started as a small animation idea that over time became something more ambitious, and there are plans to make more episodes about this universe, with new characters, a completely different Madness Combat world, an entirely new and elaborate story and narrative, and above all, lots of demons, violence, madness, and heavy Cheshcore-Metal.

Madness Nevada's Hell | Prologue

Thanks to all who helped me on this project, especially yaman, u da goat. I initially was having this be done by this madness day but after a bunch of school related stuff and mental health issues I took a break from animating for a 8 week period of time, now that I got my life sorted out for the most part I'll be able to finish next year. Thank you all so much and HAPPY MADNESS DAY! #md26 #MadnessDay2026 #madness #madnesscombat #horror

The 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. animated!

This animation is a sequel to my very first hand-drawn animation. This time around, I used a Huion drawing tablet instead of drawing with purely a mouse. The quality is quite a bit different . . . maybe I'll need to remake the first at some point . . . Check out the original animation here, if you haven't seen it yet: <a href="https://youtu.be/2xDUeHmDdMI" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Super Mario Over the Years! 1</a> - Unfortunately, you'll have to watch it on YT because I didn't have a NG account back then :( Isn't it technically the 41st now of Super Mario Bros?: Lol, yes - this project is a culmination of short vids I've been putting out during the 40th anniversary across my socials, plus a bunch more! I still wanted to call this an animation for the 40th, as it's the bigger milestone year than the 41st. I also just work slowly, and had a bunch of ideas, causing the release time to continuously get pushed back. Art Direction I've had the thought for quite some time to make a more faithful animation to the Mario series to emulate and honor the stylistic choices of Yōichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. My decision on the art direction also came down to me wanting to "understand the generations of Mario” from its official art standpoint. Furthermore, I wanted to embellish some of Mario's movements, not limited to the games, to give a greater sense of action and adventure! I referenced all types of official cover art, licensed activity books, instruction manuals, classic 80s/90s commercials and other promotional material for the games and time periods. It took way more effort than my past simpler, often rough character animations - but it was totally worth it! For later games in the franchise, including games like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey Characters, I choose to fuse the official render designs with the linework used in the manual art in the earlier games. I wanted the animation to have the hand drawn feel, but still have the evolution of Mario's design aimed to hit several of the "key poses" from the Super Mario Bros official art, and “bring them to life” in the animation. In order to execute this idea, I started with several of the key frames as these key poses, with some adjustments (like eye movements, hand placements, or perspective tweaks) to flow with the animation. As far as the backgrounds go, they involve a stylistic approach to Shigehisa Nakaue's work on the fairly consistent Nintendo summer artwork. I tried to simulate this by blending some watercolor texture scans I painted with digital watercolor brushes created in Photoshop to create laying and show a brush stroke on a more rough, coarse paper. The color usage references the internal colors displayed when playing the games on their respective consoles. This challenged me when it came to using a very monochromatic color scheme in Super Mario Land's Birabuto dungeon to quite the opposite of using a wide array of color in Mario's character animation in the Super Mario Odyssey segment. Easter Eggs Woah, you actually read up to this point? Okay, well, I'll let you in on a little secret: this animation is jam packed with a ton of hidden secrets/collectables. Try to spot the following: <ul><li>Bosses and/or friendly side characters from each game</li><li>References to different Nintendo game console generations</li><li>5 cherries to give you "invincibility"</li><li>2 wonder seeds for a "sense of curiosity"</li><li>Franchise game/console codenames</li><li>A bunch of coins. Count all of them if you dare and they may reveal some meaningful Mario number lol . . . The following are variations of coins and values associated with them (does their final value mean anything?):</li></ul>⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Regular/Gold Coin - Simply 1 Coin⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Red Coin (SM64) - 1 Red Coin = 2 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Blue Coin (SM64) - 1 Blue Coin = 5 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Purple Regional Coin (SMO) - 1 Regional Coin = 2 Coins Credits Music in chronological order:0:00 ~ Super Mario Bros 2. - Ground Theme ~ Super Smash Bros. OC Animation of Thing Mimic Cover with Geminore Staticus (or Sir Gemini II)

Starting to get motivated again to make animations, starting with a little animation meme on Thing (Mimic edition) but with my OC, Geminore Staticus (or Sir Gemini II). Who is Geminore Staticus (Sir Gemini II)? Geminore is VHS Horror entity inspired by SMG4’s “Mr. Puzzles”, where I thought of making a vhs tv like character, with the inspiration of course being Analog Horror!Story: Geminore was made by an old pig by the name of Pablo Pigsworth as an advanced AI assistant to show the future technology of assistance from robots, but Geminore starts to become self-aware, wondering if this is his only purpose, or can he unlock his true potential. This makes him go rogue, making his owner “unrecognizable” and running away from home, later being captured by cult members worshipping their god known as “Bete Noire”.As a sacrifice, they use Geminore to feed the black beast, but this makes Geminore gain unspeakable powers beyond his own comprehension, and above anyone else, proceeding to slaughter the whole cult. With this new abilities Geminore (Telekinesis, Technokinesis, etc), he realizes from this moment forward, he’s unlocked his full potential, and that’s creating Tormented Entertainment! Giving him the idea to control the world he lives in, and turn it into a horror show, with survivors, and monsters under his control! This was originally a story for Puggy and his friends, but was later reformed into a story for an idea I have for a piggy fan game called “PIGGY: TORMENTERTAINMENT” a CHOICE-DRIVEN game inspired TellTale franchises. Pretty much about it, again I had a period of time where I didn’t have motivation to animate content no more, but now i do again, and I’m also currently working on the RETURN for AsdfMovie 15 (PuggyPugsonYT Edition!), along with a few animation remakes from like 2020/2021, anddd two original animations, one completely new, and another I’ve worked on before and talked about A LOT then got cancelled for my demotivation! For now, hope ya enjoy this small animation meme I made on Sir Gemini II (He’s named after Gemini Home Entertainment btw) #Animation #AnimationMeme #AnimationMemes #AnimationVideo #AnimationVideos #Vhs #VhsHorror #OC #OriginalCharacter #OriginalCharacterAnimation

A short uni project from two semesters before based on "The Hobbit" world.

Hi! This was my first animation ever made and it was in my fourth four-month period (semester but in four monts(?) of my univetsity career. I kmow it's kind of... Funny the way the animation is, but, please, be kind, I had to do it ALL by myself in a two month period in Photoshop, so... Yeah, it's not the best... But I'm proud of myself for it :3 If the music doesn't fit, it is because it was oroginally made with "Something just like this" from Coldplay, you can see it with the original sound in my TikTok: <a href="https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSQXMnkf5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSQXMnkf5/</a> Animatiom, post-production, character design: <a href="https://naluhernandez.newgrounds.com">@NaluHernandez</a> Music: Dreamcatcher by Onycs / dreamcatcher Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0Free Download / Stream: <a href="https://www.audiolibrary.com.co/onycs/dreamcatcher" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.audiolibrary.com.co/onycs/dreamcatcher</a>Music promoted by Audio Library Yeah, it's Bilbo ;3

Animation reel I did on a Godspell documentary

Last year I had the pleasure of animating on the documentary "You Had To Be There" (believe it or not that's the shortened title) directed by Nick Davis, about the 1972 Canadian musical presentation of Godspell played by little known actors like Martin Short, Gilda Radner, Eugene Levy, etc! The musical wasn't filmed, but audio exists, and the animation fills out what was missing in an often surreal style. The animation director want it to look like it was made in the 70's to reflect the time period. Here are a few sequences I did, and there's more to come. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Had_to_Be_There_(film)" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Had_to_Be_There_(film)</a> The documentary right now is in the festival circuit. Series Of Dreams is the copyright owner. Greenwich Entertainment will distribute it in September 2026 I am actively looking for work! Any support is appreciated!<a href="https://www.andrewk-art.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Https://www.andrewk-art.com</a>Venmo: andrew-kaikoKofi: andrewkaikoIG: andrewkaiko

Godspell "You Had To Be There" documentary animation 1

Survived 2 lung collapses and a stomach ulcer a whole year ago. Just turned 29 on March 30

So, a little backstory. Around this time last year, I was in and out of the hospital with two lung collapses on both sides, which i had to get surgery for. I experienced a complication shortly after one of my surgeries where I had a unexpected perforated ulcer in my stomach which prolonged my stay in the hospital for 28 days afterwards. It was a process during that period. I lost about 20 pounds, my diet had to be decreased due to my stomach healing, I even had to wear this tube which went all in my nose to my esophagus which felt miserable. Fast forward to NOW, I'm back home. I just celebrated my 29th birthday on March 30th. I just thank God for giving me the strength to fight through this process and I'm grateful to be back home and to be back to a sense of normalcy. This animation just represents how faith and mental and physical strength can get you through anything! Song - All Bliss (Garn47) The rules were to tell a comprehensive story though a film that's only one minute long. and i chose animation. And i think i missed the comprehensive part lol. it was very clumped together due to the 1 minute lock, but im half proud of how it came out. This is guy actually won first place in my school county for a Technology Competition. I really don't like it. at all...it could've been better to be honest. but i know people love art period, So ill post what i made. I just used Rines Story from STS, a story me and my twin brother are writing. Here's the the context. (EXTRA INFO GIVEN TO THE TEACHER.) In this Animated Music Video, about loss and new beginnings, this will be almost storyboard like with a small hint of life. its about how rine and youth end up in somewhere entirely new. the video will be hand-drawn, and the characters will vary in color to showcase main feelings and emotions. mostly purple to show how privileged Rine's life was before the war. it will also feature an absence of faces to keep the simplicity. The music will be a somber opera like music. It's All surrounding the theme of loss. ---let's be honest. This story wasn't made on the spot. But it was dumbed down in creation for this music video. It's a plot for something much larger that is currently being worked on. The reason I chose this story of mine was because of its symbolism for my personal life. Growing up me and my family were moving once every 2 years mostly during Halloween. Which led to us missing some pretty cool memories. Me and my twin brother were forced to make new friends over and over and this story kind of resembles that. Rine would be me, struggling with identity and just moving into high school, And G.Y would be my brother. Quiet, Smart. Etc. I know the loss of home more than anyone when it comes to this sort of stuff. That's why I believe this story will be great when others can relate. Even if they don't relate, It's still a pretty dang interesting story.

The April Lyrids cometh ~ look to Lyra &amp; Hercules (the constellations) ~ Vega (the star) lights thy way! The April Lyrids = a meteor shower lasting from about April 15 to April 29, originating from dust particles shed by the comet Thatcher ~ the strongest annual shower of meteors from a long-period comet. Observed / reported since 687 BC, no other observable shiny space shower has been recorded as far back in time… In 687, the Zuo Zhuan (an ancient Chinese narrative history) described the meteor shower: “On the 4th month in the summer of the year of Xin-Mao… fixed stars become invisible; at midnight, stars fell like rain.” In the Australian Aboriginal astronomy of the Boorong tribe, the Lyrids represent the scratching of the Mallee fowl (represented by Vega), coinciding with its nest-building season. …may your eyes be filled with &amp; your nests be built with shooting stars… (datamoshing + soundscaping = me)

ERJANSK: Indie Animated Show Opening Scene Preview (PILOT)

Upcoming horror indie animated show intro reveal

Erjansk is an upcoming indie animated show with no budget, but a passionate team of small, talented creators. It is a stop-motion horror comedy mixed with 3D, 2D and live-action elements. 🩸Support the show and its creator:<a href="https://buymeacoffee.com/victoransxd" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://buymeacoffee.com/victoransxd</a> Upcoming Pilot’s description:A man seeks stability in an announcement board with job offers and ends up discovering something seemingly too good to be true. This leads to him finding out the real lengths he needs to take in order earn the pay: “At The Meatgrinders’“ cook vacancy interview requires him to cook meals that utilize “family” recipes to prove his culinary worth… easy enough? Show premise:The story of Erjansk is about consequence of unlimited power given to man and its capabilities. The city of Erjansk, roots of which lay in medieval ancient times, is now stuck in a soviet-like time period, where progress is punished and evolution had long been paused. The city, smelling of urine and rot - now a playground for beings with godlike abilities called The Other. They come in many forms, usually inspired by the mundane, twisted into something absurd and nightmarish to turn basic human experiences into hell. Human meat is just food, and the skin is no different to cloth or wallpaper. Human suffering is but a trial, a gateway to become just like them. They can wipe out all life but simply choose not to, for it would no longer bring amusement, and pain and suffering is the only thing left that allows them to truly grasp it. To the average erjan - every move may result in death, restarting of life cycle, and every daily activity may end up being their last. Welcome to Erjansk, where every episode is a new experience, location and character filled with absurdity, horror and dread. 🩸 2D Intro Animation | NullyWully:<a href="https://www.instagram.com/nully_wully/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.instagram.com/nully_wully/</a><a href="https://www.youtube.com/@RealNullyWully" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/@RealNullyWully</a><a href="https://nullywully.newgrounds.com/" rel="nofollow">https://nullywully.newgrounds.com/</a> 🩸 Erjansk Intro music | Tsushinki:<a href="https://tsushinki.bandcamp.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://tsushinki.bandcamp.com/</a><a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5hQLwuZVUUUku2EazuddOw" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5hQLwuZVUUUku2EazuddOw</a> My socials:Youtube: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@VictoransXD" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/@VictoransXD</a>Newgrounds: <a href="https://victoransxd.newgrounds.com/" rel="nofollow">https://victoransxd.newgrounds.com/</a>Instagram: <a href="https://www.instagram.com/victorans_xd/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.instagram.com/victorans_xd/</a>Discord Username: victoransxdDiscord Server: <a href="https://discord.gg/zScx9Kef29" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://discord.gg/zScx9Kef29</a>Deviantart: <a href="https://www.deviantart.com/victorans" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.deviantart.com/victorans</a>TikTok: <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@victorans_xd" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.tiktok.com/@victorans_xd</a>

ERJANSK: Indie Animated Show Intro Reveal (PILOT)

I turned my "Starting Soon" into a video game attract screen.

When you're firing up a Twitch stream it's a good idea to give the internet 10 or even 15 minutes to send out push notifications, do API handshakes, get a little coffee at the deli down the street, and whatever else the tiny gnomes inside the tubes have to do to get everything going. I decided to flesh out that period with some animation. The original clip of riding the elevator was originally inspired by playing a lot of Metal Gear Solid. It's all Aseprite work, and consists of a couple of very slowly moving sprites above and below my little vtuber mascot moving in parallax. I could probably stand to open it back up and flesh out the city/ mirror the statue of liberty which was originally drawn from memory. Still, I think it has a charm through the flaws. Giving the Statue of Liberty a giant gun and turning it into an apparent villain was a really funny bit back when I started using it as an aesthetic, but now I feel like it's hitting hard. Still good, but different reasons. I used Aseprite, Blender, and Spritemancer to pull it together. Aseprite was the heaving bulk of the work. Organizing the animation chunks and even pulling together the final animation. Spritemancer was used to generate the smoke effects in the gunshot segment, and I fully modeled that gun before rotoscoping it in Aseprite to maintain an aesthetic. I even went to the trouble of making the barrel automatically camber up just a little bit when the slide goes back. The turnarounds and final sequence with the Statue of Liberty are using freely available 3D models that were also rendered in blender and palletized in Aseprite. I feel like I stuck close to the ethos of making something like this for a DOS game without being shackled to technical limitations that only the turbo-est of nerds would ever appreciate. The soundtrack is a modified version of the intro track to "Eye of the Commando" titled "Prelude to Freedom". It was provided directly from the musician and I'm using it with full permission. Eye of the Commando is, unrelatedly, an absolute banger of a game that you're missing out on if you haven't seen yet. <a href="https://belthesar.bandcamp.com/album/eye-of-the-commando-original-soundtrack" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://belthesar.bandcamp.com/album/eye-of-the-commando-original-soundtrack</a><a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3016480/Eye_of_the_Commando/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://store.steampowered.com/app/3016480/Eye_of_the_Commando/</a><a href="http://twitch.tv/wobblypython" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">http://twitch.tv/wobblypython</a>

I had fun doing this animation. Last Animation of 2025! The audio I got is from a random meme from Instagram. I just imagine this being during the time Marie needs to get a sword for her nutcracker from her brother, meanwhile her brother is trying to read his volume of comics. [Oh yeah, just a heads up, my nutcracker adaptation takes place during the early 70s to early 80s- so the time period of this animation is around possibly 1972 to 1973] HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Marie being Impulsive

Long ago, in a Deep and Ancient time period. A Slave wipe out an entire slavery organization, freeing the other slaves from the immense torture and took out all the men who worked here after obtaining an Unusual and Miraculous Power. All the slaves can now freely view the beauty and take in clean air for the very first time. After some time have passed, the Hero (who we called Soulfen) had a talk to the ones he freed them about who is behind in this Unsuitable Darkness. The Wisest and Most Experienced member explains everything. Legends said that Everything that is Evil in this world was created by an Ancient and Long-Lasting Matriarch called Darlactic and wanted to take over the Endless Space she could find. She does this by rapidly expanding her forces like a Plague, and those who failed to defend themselves will be either Devoured or Enslaved to further improve her forces. The Hero heard enough and is preparing himself for the Mastermind of all Evil.

The First Internet Animation On Three-Strip Technicolor.

So….Uhh…Sonic The Hedgehog is back on my animation production after 2 years? Kinda because it actually a competition of short subjects that I created during the Late 2022-2023 Period and been rerelease (or reissue) under my film distribution “Saturn Vision Media Film Distribution” including new yet nostalgic-like title cards. but there a catch but an artistic catch to enhance my animated shorts color wise. That would be The Ol’ Three-Strip Technicolor Process from the Golden Age of Hollywood or Animation that make colors look very vibrant. Because keep in mind that I’m very fascinating on vibrant colors or the aesthetic of retro cinema for god how long. Why am I using an old technology that has now dead for 7 decades or 42 years if you count Mickey Christmas Carol being the final animated short to be produced on Three-Strip Technicolor. To revive lost aesthetic or art from the retro Hollywood. enjoy this animation competition. Exploring 4 emblematic paintings from belgium artist, Rene Magritte

Explorations is a collection of 4 emblematic works of Rene Magritte, recreated with current technology and the power of 3D modeling and animation. <iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8hytqMFCBuM?si=W8RG76l9dGZ3A4Cj#ngq:560:315" width="560" height="315" data-smart-scale="560,315"></iframe> Starting with<ul><li>Sheherazade, Rene Magritte (1947)</li></ul><img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/486/iu_1486461_9928124.jpg" width="736" height="1050" alt="iu_1478088_9928124.jpg" data-smart-scale="736,1050"> 'Sheherezade is the name given to the pearl-woman object in memory of The Thousand and One Nights' (Magritte, quoted in D. Sylvester &amp; S. Whitfield, René Magritte, Catalogue raisonné, vol. II, Oil paintings and objects, 1931-1948, Antwerp, 1993, p. 387). Shéhérazade appears to have been painted in May 1947 and is considered to be one of the earliest pictures to feature one of René Magritte's iconic motifs, the pearl woman. This picture shows the woman, whose mouth and eyes are shown as islands of flesh surrounded by a mysterious framework of strings of pearls, against a backdrop of a sky hewn out of monumental arches of blue. Next to her on the tabletop are two tall pyramids, a glass of water and a thick, claret-coloured curtain. This manages both to invoke the tradition of the Old Masters of Magritte's native Belgium and also to create an intimacy, a domesticity, a normality, lulling the viewer into a false sense of security that is prised apart by the mirage-like vision of the woman who so bracingly stares out from the canvas like some Orientalist incarnation of the Cheshire Cat. She is some form of apparition, perhaps conjured by the rituals of which the pyramids and water may be the paraphernalia. At the same time, she is the alluring and ornate hostess introducing the viewer to a world that has been rearranged in order to reveal its infinite wonder. <ul><li>The Liberator, Rene Magritte (1947)</li></ul><img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/486/iu_1486462_9928124.jpg" width="579" height="750" alt="iu_1478089_9928124.jpg" data-smart-scale="579,750"> 'The Liberator' presents a mysterious scene likely intended to provoke thought and curiosity. It depicts a figure seated against a surreal backdrop of floating architectural structures, with soft clouds embedded within. The figure, shrouded in a red cloak and adorned with a straw hat, lacks a discernible face; instead, there are symbolic images such as a key, a wine glass, a bird, and a pipe on a blank canvas where the torso should be. The enigmatic character holds a peculiar wand-like object topped with a bouquet of facial features and eyes. The figure’s attire and the walking stick it holds suggest a sense of journey or pilgrimage, while the suitcase placed by its side further emphasizes this theme. The overall composition resonates with Magritte’s distinctive style, blending reality with dreamlike elements to challenge perceptions and evoke deeper interpretations. <ul><li>The Rights of Man, Rene Magritte (1947)</li></ul><img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/486/iu_1486463_9928124.webp" width="683" height="861" alt="iu_1478090_9928124.webp" data-smart-scale="683,861"> In 1948, while musing on the purpose of the titles he assigned to his paintings, René Magritte proclaimed: “I think the best title for a picture is a poetic one. In other words, a title consistent with the more or less lively emotion we feel when we look at the picture”. Across a series of handwritten manuscripts—now preserved in the Archives of Contemporary Art in Belgium and collectively known as “On Titles”— the artist offered a collection of short statements on some of his recent work. Among these brief notes, Magritte wrote about Les droits de l’homme: "Here, man is reminded of his right to act on objects and change the world" <ul><li>The Annuntiation, Rene Magritte (1930)</li></ul><img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/486/iu_1486464_9928124.webp" width="764" height="603" alt="iu_1478091_9928124.webp" data-smart-scale="764,603">The Annunciation brings together many of the themes, both iconographic and philosophical, that engaged Magritte during his stay in Paris from 1927 to 1930, a period in which he was closely associated with the French Surrealists. The painting shows an unlikely combination of objects. Two large bilboquets (Magritte's term for the objects in his works, which, though imaginary, recall wooden balustrades or chess-pieces) stand next to an oddly shaped piece of paper with a decorative cut-out pattern. Behind them looms a grey metal 'curtain', hung with sleigh bells. Despite its incongruity, this collection of objects seems disconcertingly 'at home' in the rock-strewn landscape beneath the grey clouds in the blue sky. The size of the painting (it is one of the largest the artist ever executed), together with its traditional composition and subtle allusions to paintings of Old Master like Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, and Caravaggio, are signs of the ambitiousness of the work.
