Power Star 2.5: Devil Mario vs Sonic Chapter 1 - Call of Calamity

The official pilot episode of my ongoing series “Character Megamix.”

Hey. It’s been a while hasn’t it? One year ago on Twitter, I came up with a ongoing series known as “Character Megamix” where artists from all around the globe can submit their characters and sonas to be put into wacky, astronomical, multiversal adventures. This is the pilot episode featuring over 60 characters and people, put into Undertale - The Musical! Hilarious ain’t it? After having this account dead for so long, I figured it’s time that Newgrounds hears about this upcoming phenomenon. More episodes of the Megamix will come soon. The journey is still going. 😉 A list of people featured (mostly Twitter @‘s)Sprinkle - @Realsprinki Ryan - @thebattleryanGorg B - @I_Has_AnklesThegoodcenteno - @ThegoodcentenoYugen - @PathosketchesFireoshi - @fireoshiWOKEYFizz - @SwaggerSodaMadeleine McKinnon - @HellOnEarth_lllStreetlight Lady - @CarnyxlStupid Fucking Octopus - @Tympaton2ArtsyYew - @MustyYewMoshy - @Y_YmoshyBox in the Jack - @ThatRabbitFellaMolly Teddiursa - @robot_plushrosie_49 - @cowxonesie_49IZZZYBOPZ - @Izzzybopzriciza - @riciza8Loaf - @Dan_Your_PalPolyGone - @Pixelnations1Tynan - @MoonscraperCEThat Girl whose name I don’t know. - @scrilopolisSky - @awfulartistsGreennlght - @Greenn_GlindaEgg Dude - @Moe_Nothing001Luna - @spinaroozngPanna - @pannabananaShrimpi - @omnicpngageta - @unipyroDexterous Animation - @dexterousanimGeo - @GeoScartonDuster Ball - @snowdustyaouriPiñata the Axolotl - @lit_pinataLake Creature - @jib_loger_altLemon Cyclops - @AltForEpicArt1Rainbow Heart - @YuniWolf_TtwSputnick - @doofazoidHelia - @RaytheUhhhhhhChilz - @xxchilpilxxDee - @DeeDixologiiUnknown - @HeyimUnknown_FlaminGingerBread - @SwagPogGamerCory the Turtle - @CrispyFriseSam - @segaarabiaFango - @FangoV5TENYM - @caram3lcrep3zFran - @Gothic_DamienCreature Sona - @Citrusflower25BendyFan2013 - @BendyFan2013Jordan - @Sonjamsn40Dirty Bubble - @YoylefakeLovely Lauren and…Gabs?! - @LovelyLaurenOG Jim - @genshiicommsOKTumor - @OkTumorQueen - @ReatlLShoutawubbox - @rizzysussybakaSkeleton Key - @ghostwyrmsParka - @ParkaKingsterCosmo-1 - @KyuorsomethinQuil - @IAmQuilAngel Alcohol - @aaaaaabdAAAAAJuju Gazark - @ThaE_SlugRusti Scrug-Sona - @lesb1anEvilWubSir Solorn - @DecentlyEpicJester Girl - @adrigab41714Kufa 💙 - @KF90003 (NOTE - This is a Pilot Episode, so character designs are likely outdated by now and are subjected to change when more episodes get released)

"Excuse me... you're Nurja?""I am! And you must be Dean, right?""Indeed! Nice to finally meet you!""Same! That's so nice of you for coming to visit after all those letters we wrote!""No problem! it would've been ashame to miss you while you're not far from where I live. Specially after everything we wrote each other.""Indeed! You really turned me on in those! I'm glad we're on the same page. You have quite a stallion reputation you know!""Thanks! I hope my reputation will be on par with yours! Your name carries quite the promise of pleasure a lot of guys would love to experience!""Eh eh! I'm getting good at it, I had a lot of practices!""So, where are we going for our own practice?""I'm staying at a friend of mine's house in border of the city. He is gone for a few weeks, so he handled me the keys to stay and take care of the place. Free vacation!""How sweet of him indeed. I'm guessing you thanked him the best way you know how, eh eh!""I would have, but I think he would be a lot more interested in you, eh eh!""Aah! Then maybe one of those days I should visit him to thank him the best way I know how!""Well for now, you're mine! You'll actually be the first of your race I have sex with, so you have quite a charge on your shoulder mister!""This breeding purple dog is at your service 'mam! Shall we?""This way, follow me!" This project is an art trade I made with Drako ( https://x.com/DrakoNSFW ) in which he wanted his OC Dean in action with Nurja. And while at first I told him I would make it simple to go faster, I got... carried away! In the end, it got bigger and bigger, and the results is this video that I hope he'll like! I had a lot of fun animating this pair! I'm aware that many people may not have seen the original Evil Dead movie. And you don't need to have seen it to have some fun in this episode, but there are a lot of references here that are connected to the Evil Dead series. If you want some more context before watching, maybe check out the last edition of the Spooky Zine. ABOUT THE SPOOKY ZINEThe spooky zine is a once a month mini mag that explores some more of the local lore and connects with the episodes and world of voodoo vids in a way that's external to the animation. They are a bit of fun, but also can contain wider context for viewers that want to have some additional context. Or maybe you just want to read more about what's happening in the wider universe. A LOVE LETTER TO EVIL DEADThis episode is a love letter to Evil Dead and nods to the horror classic in certain ways I hope you would find nostalgic and at the same time, perhaps encourage some new people to seek out The Evil dead movies if you haven't seen them. You have to have a passion for old school splatter gore horror. But it's got a great blend of gore and comic styled over the top supernatural elements that are sure to delight, and Bruce Campbell is just brilliant as Ash Williams. I'm super excited to learn that there are rumors Bruce may even return to the movies in some capacity. I know currently Bruce is battling cancer, which is awful news, but as he said himself, "Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch".I along with many fans are wishing him a good battle and hope he gets well soon! I'd love to see him on the big screen in Evil Dead again! Beyond this point there will be episode 4 spoilers so return to read the rest after you've seen the episode. BEHIND THE SCENES OF EPISODE 4This episode took a lot longer to make than the others, I hope that shows and also thank you for your patience. The script went through a few re writes and last minute changes that extended the runtime. Having every character in a single episode comes with more challenges, making sure to give each of them a good scene. But I think it was worth it as if you like any character in particular they are all present in this one. THAT ICONIC INTROIf you are familiar with Evil Dead you will have noticed I did my best to pay homage to the opener from Evil Dead 2 that explains the Necronomicon's origins. Making that was so much fun, animating the front cover of the book, combining it with some stock footage of an ocean that I tinted red, and for the "ink effect" on the page reveals I used some simple track mattes of real ink drop footage to do that. I love how it turned out.I also did the narration in the intro, I rearranged elements of the original script to work better with the set up for this parody. My goal was to allow people who've never heard of, or watched Evil dead to get up to speed as quickly as possible with the idea that "this book is bad news" TECHNICAL STUFFOne of the biggest challenges is creating new environments and props. Something you see on screen for a few seconds in a few shots has had to be created from scratch. Some times I over engineer stuff too and I probably could've made the chainsaw without an actually animated chain... but because I did, It allowed me to get some cool camera angles of it in action. Same can be said for the shotgun that Franklin is using. it is based of the same model they used in Evil Dead 2, the original film Ash used a single barreled Winchester, but the sequel it was a 12 guage double barrel Stevens model, and later in the 3rd movie it was a double barrel Stoeger Coach Gun, which is lovingly referred to now as "The Boomstick"Ash famously saws the barrel off in Evil Dead 2. Of course I needed a forest. Not any easy set to build but I made it easy by cutting a lot of corners, the whole forest set is just a simple plane with a particle system placing tree images randomly across the surface.I made it within an hour and the lighting is doing most of the heavy lifting. which is again fairly simple. I like my renders to not take AGES. Most of the animation scenes take about 4-5 seconds per frame. So the forest was as basic as it needed to be. Paul's date cutaway was another external set that required a suburban feel to it. so I modeled some simple houses and kept camera angles to a minimum and focused only on what I needed. it was a very short scene so keeping the set small was important... but I could probably use it again in future should the need arise.Voodoo Vids itself as a set is the biggest and most detailed because I wanted a space where I can point the camera pretty much anywhere and have a great shot. A lot of time was spent on that, but it still needs work and more will come to the set eventually. Another huge time save has been using multiple cameras within the same scene and swapping between them. traditionally I would've worked on one scene per camera shot, but using Blenders camera marker system I can have multiple cameras that I can cut to whenever I need. so I can animate the whole scene in one blend file. This also makes it easier to alter small parts or fix things in post easier without having to dig through a load of different scene files. MUFFINMuffin the Dog was referenced in the Spooky Zine and fun fact, he is voiced by our own dog Podrick. Recording his various noises is fun. To get his taco crunching sounds we used a Poppadom, he very much enjoys working with us when there's food involved. The next two episodes will probably be a little shorter again too not keep the gaps too long between them. AND for the finale there's going to be another great addition to the page that you can all experience and join in. more on that soon.We may even see some more new characters too!! FINAL NOTEThank you all for watching and a special thanks to Bruce Campbell and Director Sam Raimi for making a bonkers horror franchise that inspires fans and creators still to this day.As for Voodoo Vids please share it if you can, tell people about It! Your support is greatly appreciated with every like, vote, comment. It will be available on youtube next week, right now they remain as Newgrounds exclusives at launch. If you want to know anything else about production or things I've not mentioned here, then please ask. more than happy to answer any questions.See you in the next one! and look out for the next edition of the Spooky Zine for some more info soon!

Dead people in hell! The next installement!

Only a mad soul would dare to venture closer to the Core. Closer to the many settlements of Greed and it's devil filled streets. Yet Ebenizer does so willingly. A dangerous and foolish endeavor that will take might cost him more than he realized. ------ Finally! It's finally out! After almost a year of development wahoo! Now full disclosure, this was supposed to be a tad longer. But, after some much deliberating and a certain festival coming, I've decided to cut the episode in two. Just to have something for the channel mostly! The second part, or should I say, the next episode, should be out in September or October at the latest! Either way.. I'm going to get back to work to try and meet this deadline and I'll see you all around! Till next time! Lil animation I made based on one of my friends tendencies. Not that I mind it. LOUD SOUND WARNING. Jus' a heads up, ya know? Audio of Kursul talking is the actual guy the character is based off of, Dorfde is a Kyuss meme and Wolfs line is done by my friend @Ant (https://8bitant.com) from a random audio clip he sent me two years ago on msn of him screaming at me. Can't remember why but it's probably just because I exist and that's enough of a reason to yell at me over msn of all things. Love ya Ant. True story, Kursul(real guy) recorded this while he was practicing with band mates, so the background noise is a guitarist and a drummer going ham while Kursul is in the bathroom recording. Honestly kinda fits seeing as this is all happening in an old music store.

Ever heard of King Crimson?

Short teaser for a new animation thing I had

For the 20th anniversary for Powerstar that happened on May 4th, I wanted to make a small little animation for the anniversary, and what better way then to plug a new series teaser? My idea was to use SMBZ as inspiration, but with a twist. instead of Z, I chose super since Devil Mario will transform into the Rose form that Goku Black turned in dragon ball super. I still have to flesh out a story for this animation, but I was almost thinking of using the Goku Black saga from DBS as inspiration, where Devil Mario collects all the stars (0 mortal plan) and luigi tries to stop him (goku, vegeta and future trunks). Of course in the end, devil mario will win, killing luigi in a brutal scene but with DBZ style fight scenes, maybe a few ki blasts or two. if you guys have any suggestions, or name suggestions, let me know down below in the comments Currently working on a Goku & Vegeta vs Devil Mario sprite animation, which will use the ending of the DBS Broly movie as inspiration Credits: TuffTony, KingAsylus91, LoneWolfAlpha250, ZatchHunter, TheGuy07(CyberWolfJV), PxlCobit, LuigiRulz, BrawlFan1, Rukaisho (Mark Haynes), ShadeFalcon, TheCynicalPoet (SMBZ1), MrRed, EnteiTheHedgehog, JumpmanMFGG, Diyoshi25, 9Blu-Linden9 (DarkMark9), FaisaAden, Shadow624, jmkrebs30, Somari64, Mattdraw, Delvallejoel, supersilver27, Jyellowstudio, Gensokyo-man, KingAsylus91, A.J. Please feel free to comment down below your tag/name and I will add you to the credits (just going off by the sprite sheet I have) Hope ya'll have a great day!

Powerstar Super Teaser

Found this shit on the Pirate Bay back in '03, YouTube ain't let me post it

I made sure to post this on the second because this is NOT a joke, I would never fool you. This is the 1988 pilot for The Simpsons, this pilot was never released but the tape came with extra info written in an ancient scroll. The show was originally going to star Big Burt, Small Sam and them. It was actually called The Simpsons because it was named after Bert's producer at the time, Mr. Jeremiah Pubert Simpson of Gold Rim Records. It was in production by Matt Groening and was actually the show he was most passionate about working on before FOX shoehorned-in a yellow family for ratings. <--- Yellow dude from the yellow family in question. I found this sifting through bags of trash and gunk at nearby dumpsters, looking for a USB I threw out that had this on it. I had remembered it existed at the time and thought it'd be funny if I discovered it again. I had searched for 3 years but I found that damn USB. Turns out, the video wasn't on it! It truly contained the map to another USB which I had saved the elusive video on. I eventually got the real USB though, my friend had it lying around anyway so it was all good. Don't look any of this up! FOX is trying to cover this up and will likely blow up your computer and force you to have a brain aneurysm if you try. Never watch FOX News and this pilot at the same time, they can hear you through the TV. Just DON'T!

ORIGNAL SIMPSONS Big Burt Pilot [LOST MEDIA]

S3 E4 - Original YT Release Date - 03/05/2025

More Animatic, Less Flashy. (This is the first Stikman Chaos entry on Newgrounds! SC has been YouTube-only since its pilot in September 2020, and since I'm no longer a pre-pubescent child that would get an episode graveyarded in seconds, let's see if this "work of art" does!) All music copyright goes to their original creators, PLEASE credit them while using their music since their work is pretty damn kewl :D! Their work is in the credits btw.

Stikman Chaos - Time Jam (Part 1)

So it was like 2023 (yes this took a long time mostly because my day job got in the way and when I'm too tired I just sit and play really long 4x games) and I was getting back into making my own cartoons again. I was talking to a co-worker at my day job about how he would go to a shisha bar with friends and they decided he smoked too much and used that as an excuse to ditch him and the one guy was smoking a cigar. I was like 'ehh lets base it very loosely on the essence of that but do something different to try and push myself before I get to writing my web series 🤡 ' and I came up with this idea of comparing different types of smoking. It wasn't even necessarily meant to be all that straightforwardly funny but as it went and I was desperate to move on to other projects jokes just kind of emerged from going stir crazy or hiding shortcuts because it was taking too long. I actually really enjoyed designing these guys and they're definitely showing up again, the tall guy was not iterated at all and was exactly how I wanted him to look right away. All the voices I just mimicked from other Australian YouTube shit I liked over the years (see if you can guess them!) because they just fit the specific type of dude I was imagining and this was originally not going to be a big thing but something I put out in a few months that wasn't just something I had to throw together for a jam. God I'm so happy this is out of my brain and people can stop asking if I 'still make cartoons?' for a while before I inevitably make a project way too big again. LMAO. Tried some editing tricks I learned doing a lot of live action editing the last few years too and I think I did okay on that front, a few things compositionally that I'd change but that's for next time, there's a point where you just have to finish and move on. I still have a lot to learn about sound design though, I really want future soundscapes to be a lot richer and to really figure out how balancing works. I regret never having the time to do the classes available when I was doing my masters at film school but I had so much editing to do back then I needed all that time to put docos and short films together. Fuck even my description is taking way too long I just kind of lived this thing forever. Got more cool shit planned for the future! Hope you like xoxoxoxoEDIT: DAILY THIRD!? THANK YOU GUYSSO MUCH!

An animal rock band breaks their guitar before their first BIG GIG

An animal rock band breaks their guitar before their first big gig. Their search for a fast replacement leads them to a mysterious garage sale possessing the instrument they seek - but they'll have to earn it with "a good song." - - GARAGE SALE is a film inspired by my love for cheesy pop rock music and by the dog days of childhood summer. Conceived during my sophomore year at Butler University, the film started out as a small passion poject and blossomed into an incredible team effort - it was eventually submitted as my senior capstone! The arts-and-crafts visual style was exciting to develop, and the musical score we created is equal parts adrenaline-pumping and total cheeseball. It was as joyful to make as it is to watch in motion! There are equal parts of me in Shen, Qat and Cowbell - exploring how the band members' personalities balanced one another was super fun. The hardworking crew is comprised of friends & alumni from The School of Visual Arts (SVA) and other close collaborators - I am especially thankful to Lisa Marr (of indie pop band "Cub") for lending her vocal talents to the film's credit sequence. A tale of two farmers and their journey teaching pigs

@PukeBomb presents...FARMERS RAP A pack of pigs, grazing on the sloppiest of mudpiles, knew not what their future held the day Tom and Trevor unlocked the true potential hidden beneath within their puny brains. These hunks of ham could now dance and sing, much to the dismay of the local police department. These two farmers knew the responsibility that came with handing down their generational talents. Now, it's up to the pigs to bless our lands with their gifts. A thing I wrote that I thought it would be cool to read over some footage that would accompany the theme. The soundscape came from me screwing around in Audacity for 15 or so minutes, and I thought it had a similar theme to the writing. I was working on Santa Smoke Prologue and Globetrotter when friend of mine Noah who was interested in collaborating at the time offered his skills, and I had the idea of painting a mental picture for him and having him recreate it in Unreal engine because he was learning to use it at the time. Clearly, Microsoft Sam read the script rather than myself, for two reasons, one being I have not found the confidence in recent times to try spoken word, and I've been really down in the dumps for 3 weeks recovering from a screwed up surgery. Finally started to move around more a couple days ago, ended up (gross/bloody warning): s̶p̶l̶i̶t̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ o̶p̶e̶n̶ a̶ b̶i̶t̶ a̶n̶d̶ b̶l̶e̶e̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ a̶l̶l̶ o̶v̶e̶r̶ m̶y̶s̶e̶l̶f̶ s̶o̶ I̶ h̶a̶d̶ t̶o̶ g̶o̶ t̶o̶ t̶h̶e̶ d̶o̶c̶t̶o̶r̶ t̶o̶ g̶e̶t̶ c̶l̶o̶s̶e̶d̶ b̶a̶c̶k̶ u̶p̶. Mentally drained from a week of agony and following weeks of boredom and insanity, and 3 moderate complications later, I caved and spent a fair bit of time scrolling social media (twitter and youtube), something I try strongly to avoid. It got the best of me and I felt even more miserable from doing nothing, to a point the day after I came back from the doctor (so 3 days ago) that I decided I am going to get back on the computer and finish up some old crap ive been working on. So I put this together, hosted a modded Minecraft server for my friends to play on with customized world generation and perfected configs, and made that little game about the philosophy of self destructive behaviour, insanity, and the internet.
Script:

I used DaVinci Resolve because that's what I've got for video editing, my dad bought some kind of big package and anyways I have a copy, but I am very inexperienced with it, I apologize if anything is wrong with it from professional editor standpoint. I hit the target for what my vision on this project was, and it was cool to work together with someone on something, made this a quick and easy project even though the pieces sat in a folder for like a month. WORST ANIMATION OF 2024 🗣️ Damn it took a WHILE!! 6 months and a little bit of brain damage. In the time it took, I got Wifey, turned 17, figured out Blender and grew out my dreads. This animation was absolutely daunting, and it only hurts knowing that I'll put even more effort in later animations. It feels like my brain juices just flopped out. Heavy thanks to the entire Thug Heaven server (formerly BoyKisser Heaven) - The only reason I made this bullshit was because of you guys. First day on the job? Dealing with the mob? At least your boss isn't a slob.

@PukeBomb presents their short film debut...EVERYTHING MUST GOJack Brandt, an unemployed early 30s “bachelor,” is putting in a whopping 56% effort to land any possible position he can get his grubby fingers on. Although he leaves room for improvement, Jack meanders his way across town searching for jobs before stumbling over his own unlaced shoes and a “helpe wontid” sign in front of a dilapidated store front. Haphazardly shuffling inside, Jack was not ready for the marvelous misadventures on which he was soon to embark. Following a series of inexplicable sounds, Jack encounters what one can only describe as the physical embodiment of rotting meat and left-on-the-counter cream cheese, Mark Pimento. He's the kind of guy that could possibly be working for the mob whilst also predicting your future. You know that one uncle of yours that shows up with a stained shirt and unkempt hair right at the most in-opportune time for a "quick visit?" Yeah, that's Mark. Unreasonably sweaty, oozing a questionable fragrance of fast food delicacies, this mythical “salesman” offers countless wares to his loyal, yet displaced customers. Marky Mark acts as the CEO of Pimento Planet™, a thrift-like store that offers luxury washing machine alcoves, -568.56 °R circumscribed cooling, ancient antiquities, and edible arrangements such as off-brand ice pops. Do me a favor: think of one item you definitely do not need right now, nor will you ever require said item. Okay, you good? Yeah, Pimento Planet™ has 40 of them in stock. Our love-able, wide-mouthed dope of a shopkeeper proudly represents a long line of Pimentos before him, continuing their seemingly endless hoarding legacies. Not all is well, however, as Mark is having it "up-to-here" in dealing with expectations from his "sponsors," the nefarious Maf-AI. Perhaps a break from this endless cycle of trash is in the midst. The Maf-AI are a rough-and-rowdy rag-tag group of artificially intelligent mobsters viciously scaling the chain of power to soon control all facets of our earthly plain. As their leader is VERY displeased with Mark's recent transgressions, a gaggle of their top goons are contracted to target Mark in the hopes of clearing their path towards destruction. Unfortunately for Mark, he's a bit busy giving an expansive tour of the Pimento Planet™ facility to realize what his "future" holds. Many questions still remain. Who is Psychic Bob? Why haven't I heard of that unreleased vinyl record? Who needs that many socks? But, most importantly: Will Mark slip further into his biologically destined downward spiral, or burst out from the flames of failure? Oh, and whose dog is that? 2nd Place Winner in Live Action Jam 2023 CASTMark Pimento - Graeme Barrett (AudioOpera)Jack Brandt - DNSLMafAI Boss - Nick SennyMafAI Goons - VoicesByCorey / JoshDytonVO / Nick SennyNews Anchor - NattosumiMeatloaf - Cyclone BreitmayerJeremy Clarkson - NattosumiRichard Hammond - Nick SennyJerry Socks - Bro-sonPsychic Bob Voice - Nick SennyLive Action Psychic Bob - Bro-sonMark Pimento’s Sultry Mouth - Nick SennyLive Action Mark Pimento - Nick Rahm / Hayden GrahamLive Action Jack Brandt - Nick Senny ANIMATIONPimento Animation - Nick SennyJack Animation - NattosumiTop Gear Animation - SepticSebiJerry Socks Animation - Bro-son3D Animation - Bro-son BACKGROUNDSNick SennyNattosumi EDITING / SOUND DESIGNNick Senny MUSIC"Dispose Me" - BUFFOUT"Road Rage Symphony" - Cyclone Breitmayer"Bad Whether - Green Sky Mix" - Nobey One"Fantajoyeux" - Pillowinde FOOTAGELive Action Jack Brandt - Nick SennyLive Action Mark Pimento - Nattosumi / Bro-sonPsychic Bob - Bro-sonMark V Vehicle - autoalfred In Loving Memory of Meatloaf & Dixie You can support PukeBomb on Patreon to become a "PukePatron" or "PukePal."We supply behind the scenes images / videos / concepts / updates of our works in progress. The "PukePatron" tier gets you the above posts and a thank you in the video description, but update to be a "PukePal" and be forever etched in history within the actual video's credits.
