I'm finally happy with all the audio and the edits themselves. It took some time after fixing some of the fluid shading mistakes and re-rendering up to 20-30 scenes for the longest version alone (plus 3 edits for the SFW version longest and the free version). But here it is! I hope you all enjoy it!Please write me a comment for any feedback or if you notice something wrong, I'll see to it ASAP!Thank you all so much for watching and I hope you all have a great day! If you want to support me, here is the link to the longer 4k version on Patreon or watch it maybe once on PH! That's also why I put most of the best shots in the free version with additional shots for the longer 4k version on Patreon. In my opinion, for this animation the flow of editing from the shots and camera pans were pretty compromised by the position of the characters in the environment. The next already teasered animation Love N'Bullets doesn't have those problems plus the longer animations in it gave me way more freedom for shot placement, pans, and interesting edits (in addition, I learned way more about editing animation and how to get those nice camera shots like in the newest sneakpeak in the last few months) The fluids themselves were looking pretty good, but the normals and shading had some problems. What I now try is making a sweaty and goopy-fluid system for those slippery lube'y skin shots I really like!

I'm still working on timing, If anyone has a tip on how to time subtitles I would greatly appreciate that!

[Animation project] Project F development showcase 3 - Combat Animation and Music (2026-08-26)

This is an animation and lighting school project I made in the span of about a week, then refined by adding Maya textures and adjusting accordingly. The character design/concept, character model and character rig were done earlier before this project by me within Photoshop, Maya and ZBrush. Animation and lighting was done afterwards by me. The models for the environment and props were sourced from Sketchfab with permission. This is how music looks to me completely sober. Don't watch if you have epilepsy!

Don't watch this if you have epilepsy. This looks significantly better in VR. Still trying to solve a color space issue after getting the desktop viewer to show more than just the left eye. Tendril is our upcoming VR rhythm game. Originally designed simulate synesthesia in real-time, it'll come with exciting rhythm and choreography challenges that'll keep you on your toes while teaching you how audiovisual synesthesia works. This video shows how my song Riverwolf looks to me. Tendril comes with a robust editor that will let you paint music with a diverse collection of preset brushes, add symmetry and all kinds of effects, and import your own 3D models &amp; textures for full control. Upload stems, separate them by layer, add audiomorphic processing to almost every parameter, and add environments so you're not just in a black space. Then share your creations with your friends or export video for your own live performances. You can upload any audio file. It doesn't even have to be music. We're hoping to ship the base game with 20-50 tracks and a story/tutorial campaign. How many we're able to include will depend entirely on how much funding we can acquire for licensing. Additional tracks may be added later as DLC. We may run a campaign for this at some point, so stay tuned! The sooner we can garner sufficient interest in this project, the sooner we'll be able to launch the campaign and the game. In the meantime, please join our Discord: <a href="https://discord.gg/gY4avv5UVV" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://discord.gg/gY4avv5UVV</a> I will be creating more songs in this simulator over the coming weeks. This was my first. This is an evolving art form and the way visuals are structured will change depending on the song. It will look significantly better once we have brush stabilization. How the rhythm gameplay will be structured will cause the visuals to evolve as well. If you have requests for songs you would like to see, leave them in the Tendrilab Discord server in #track-requests!

RIVERWOLF (Synesthesia Simulation in Tendril - our upcoming VR rhythm game!)

A fight breaks out at Hector's gas station, and he tries to keep it from being destroyed.

For a long time, I wanted to work on something outside of college and focus on creating my own character and story. But when your break from animating is animating, it eventually becomes exhausting.I don't remember exactly when I started this project, but one of the earliest sketches of the gas station dates back to March of last year. The part that took me the longest was modeling the environment in 3D. At that point, I still didn't have the concept for the short film, but I already had the basic premise of Hector's story. The hardest part was coming up with an idea that wasn't impossible to animate. Every time I came up with something, I had to simplify it until it eventually became what it is today.I always knew Hector would try to protect his gas station, facing conflicts he wouldn't know how to deal with and outcomes that wouldn't always turn out the way he hoped. But I also wanted him to be able to accept that by the end of the day and keep moving forward, a lesson I had to learn myself several times while making this short film. -Instagram:<a href="https://www.instagram.com/reyessmateo_art/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> https://www.instagram.com/reyessmateo_art/</a>

Quarrel- Animated Shortfilm

Trailer for an animated short film about wendigos coming soon

This is a trailer for a short film that I have been working on for the past few months and which will come out very soon. The short film is called 'Wendigo Hillbillies'. It's about a man who is lost in a snowstorm. He seeks shelter in a cabin which happens to be inhabited by wendigos who dress and act like rural hillbillies, but are actually out to devour him the moment he drops his guard. The film's look is supposed to resemble old school animation in a way, with hand-painted backgrounds and 2D animated characters, but now inside a 3D environment. The 3D environment is entirely made in Blender, and the 2D animation is made with Callipeg (tie-down), Moho (clean-up) and TVPaint (coloring). And the music is composed by a cousin of mine. I'm very excited to share the full short film with y'all when it's ready to be released! For now though, you can enjoy the trailer!

Wendigo Hillbillies - TRAILER

A cool animation I decided to make using more scrapped models from Foodfight!

I decided to do another short similar to my previous one, SUGI, for this year's Newgrounds Low Poly Day. I mentioned in the description of SUGI that I used 3D models that a friend of mine, Ziggy Cashmere, recovered from the original production of the infamously terrible animated film, Foodfight!, which he made a YouTube documentary about the insane production of. However, I never could've guessed that more models would be recovered since. Long story short, he found even more background character models, almost 100 of them, as well as some environment models from a cancelled video game adaptation of Foodfight! I had been playing around with those models for several months, but I decided to lock in and make something quick with them for this year's Low Poly Day. I spent some time fixing an environment model of Chinatown from a flying level in the cancelled game, which involved meticulously going through an old folder of textures and reapplying each of them to the correct faces of the model. Then I took two of the recently found character models, Alyssa and Gutter Girl, and made a quick mocap animation of them skating through the environment since they both had skateboards with their model. I'm admittedly more proud of the work I did restoring the Chinatown city then I am with the character animation, but I think it was worth making something quick just to show it off to the world. Also I have to give another special shoutout to Jiji, a friend of a friend, who gave me permission to use another one of his tracks, "Olliewood", as the soundtrack for this animation. His great Y2K techno beats really add to the vibe of the low-poly aesthetic I used in this short and SUGI. Give it a listen on YouTube here, and check out his other music while you're at it: <a href="https://youtube.com/@__jebbe" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://youtube.com/@__jebbe</a>

WOW! That was a close one, am I right guys? Right in the last hour lol When I heard that Newgrounds was having a low poly event, I knew I had to try and throw my hat in the ring! I had only found out 6 days before the event so what your seeing is my best attempt at 3D modelling a character, creating an environment, animated an entire short, and editing it all together in the span of 6 days (I have not slept for just as long) Not only that, but this is also my first art piece I'm publishing to Newgrounds, EVER! I've been on the site for years as a lurker, but never had the confidence to publish any of my art here... UNTIL NOW! I hope all of you enjoy this silly little animation I made, and happy Low Poly Day! For a closer look at the 3D model, and some BTS images, go here!

Grifon Bunnyman Massacre - EPISODE 2

Franklin finds something odd in the storeroom

<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586310_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586310_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,317">VOODOO VIDS EPISODE 4: IN BRUCE WE TRUST Episode 4 is upon us and I hope you enjoy it! I'm aware that many people may not have seen the original Evil Dead movie. And you don't need to have seen it to have some fun in this episode, but there are a lot of references here that are connected to the Evil Dead series. If you want some more context before watching, maybe check out the last edition of the <a href="https://voodoovids.newgrounds.com/news/post/1619729">Spooky Zine</a>. ABOUT THE SPOOKY ZINEThe spooky zine is a once a month mini mag that explores some more of the local lore and connects with the episodes and world of voodoo vids in a way that's external to the animation. They are a bit of fun, but also can contain wider context for viewers that want to have some additional context. Or maybe you just want to read more about what's happening in the wider universe. A LOVE LETTER TO EVIL DEADThis episode is a love letter to Evil Dead and nods to the horror classic in certain ways I hope you would find nostalgic and at the same time, perhaps encourage some new people to seek out The Evil dead movies if you haven't seen them. You have to have a passion for old school splatter gore horror. But it's got a great blend of gore and comic styled over the top supernatural elements that are sure to delight, and Bruce Campbell is just brilliant as Ash Williams. I'm super excited to learn that there are rumors Bruce may even return to the movies in some capacity. I know currently Bruce is battling cancer, which is awful news, but as he said himself, "Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch".I along with many fans are wishing him a good battle and hope he gets well soon! I'd love to see him on the big screen in Evil Dead again! Beyond this point there will be episode 4 spoilers so return to read the rest after you've seen the episode. <img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586325_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586325_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,317"> BEHIND THE SCENES OF EPISODE 4This episode took a lot longer to make than the others, I hope that shows and also thank you for your patience. The script went through a few re writes and last minute changes that extended the runtime. Having every character in a single episode comes with more challenges, making sure to give each of them a good scene. But I think it was worth it as if you like any character in particular they are all present in this one. THAT ICONIC INTROIf you are familiar with Evil Dead you will have noticed I did my best to pay homage to the opener from Evil Dead 2 that explains the Necronomicon's origins. Making that was so much fun, animating the front cover of the book, combining it with some stock footage of an ocean that I tinted red, and for the "ink effect" on the page reveals I used some simple track mattes of real ink drop footage to do that. I love how it turned out.I also did the narration in the intro, I rearranged elements of the original script to work better with the set up for this parody. My goal was to allow people who've never heard of, or watched Evil dead to get up to speed as quickly as possible with the idea that "this book is bad news" TECHNICAL STUFFOne of the biggest challenges is creating new environments and props. Something you see on screen for a few seconds in a few shots has had to be created from scratch. Some times I over engineer stuff too and I probably could've made the chainsaw without an actually animated chain... but because I did, It allowed me to get some cool camera angles of it in action.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586351_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586351_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,317"> Same can be said for the shotgun that Franklin is using. it is based of the same model they used in Evil Dead 2, the original film Ash used a single barreled Winchester, but the sequel it was a 12 guage double barrel Stevens model, and later in the 3rd movie it was a double barrel Stoeger Coach Gun, which is lovingly referred to now as "The Boomstick"Ash famously saws the barrel off in Evil Dead 2. Of course I needed a forest. Not any easy set to build but I made it easy by cutting a lot of corners, the whole forest set is just a simple plane with a particle system placing tree images randomly across the surface.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586349_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586349_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,495">I made it within an hour and the lighting is doing most of the heavy lifting. which is again fairly simple. I like my renders to not take AGES. Most of the animation scenes take about 4-5 seconds per frame. So the forest was as basic as it needed to be. Paul's date cutaway was another external set that required a suburban feel to it. so I modeled some simple houses and kept camera angles to a minimum and focused only on what I needed. it was a very short scene so keeping the set small was important... but I could probably use it again in future should the need arise.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586352_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586352_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,295">Voodoo Vids itself as a set is the biggest and most detailed because I wanted a space where I can point the camera pretty much anywhere and have a great shot. A lot of time was spent on that, but it still needs work and more will come to the set eventually. Another huge time save has been using multiple cameras within the same scene and swapping between them. traditionally I would've worked on one scene per camera shot, but using Blenders camera marker system I can have multiple cameras that I can cut to whenever I need. so I can animate the whole scene in one blend file. This also makes it easier to alter small parts or fix things in post easier without having to dig through a load of different scene files. MUFFINMuffin the Dog was referenced in the <a href="https://voodoovids.newgrounds.com/news/post/1619729">Spooky Zine</a> and fun fact, he is voiced by our own dog Podrick. Recording his various noises is fun. To get his taco crunching sounds we used a Poppadom, he very much enjoys working with us when there's food involved.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586356_28415006.jpg" alt="iu_1586356_28415006.jpg" data-smart-scale="764,764">The next two episodes will probably be a little shorter again too not keep the gaps too long between them. AND for the finale there's going to be another great addition to the page that you can all experience and join in. more on that soon.We may even see some more new characters too!! FINAL NOTEThank you all for watching and a special thanks to Bruce Campbell and Director Sam Raimi for making a bonkers horror franchise that inspires fans and creators still to this day.As for Voodoo Vids please share it if you can, tell people about It! Your support is greatly appreciated with every like, vote, comment. It will be available on youtube next week, right now they remain as Newgrounds exclusives at launch. If you want to know anything else about production or things I've not mentioned here, then please ask. more than happy to answer any questions.See you in the next one! and look out for the next edition of the Spooky Zine for some more info soon!

First 3 Scenes of Murder Drones: Intermission 3D Animated

Hello! Thank you so much for watching! I know that this is a little bit late, but this has been just sitting on my computer for months now and I just thought, hey, screw it I'm gonna post it. This is a 3D animation of the first 3 scenes of the Murder Drones fan episode, Murder Drones: Intermission, made by ‪<a href="https://ghoulinfuschia.newgrounds.com">@Ghoulinfuschia</a>‬. I have gotten explicit permission from her to animate these scenes. However, I was not able to animate the full episode due to technical issues. I would also like to try to work on more original animations in the future and shift away from fan projects. Anyways! Thank you again for watching! This was very fun, and I hope you enjoy it. MURDER DRONES: Intermission - Scenes 1-3 (3D Animated)

Guys, check out this old VHS I found! I remember getting nightmares from this as a kid. This my my part for the NGTV Halloween collab! I tried a lot of different things while making this. I got to thank Valdriks for providing the amazing music for this, it would not even be as half as good without it! I also might post the non-VHS version if I remember. I've wanted to combine 2D and 3D animation for a while now and it was fun! I really liked making environments in blender, and I like how they turned out, even if I basically had bs a lot of what I was doing. The only thing I hated about it was the render times. I also tried out rig animation for the mantis aliens, and you could tell. It's pretty obvious I didn't really know how rigged animation worked when looking at some of the animations. It was also kind of a pain in the butt trying to make them not move so maniacally. I didn't enjoy it as much as hand-drawn, but it was a lot faster to animate so maybe I'll use puppets again in the future. I learned some new compositing techniques while working on this. Usually I just combine my animations with the background and add some sounds, maybe I'd add the occasionally VHS effect if I was feeling fancy. Now that I know how to do some real compositing I'm definitely gonna do more. This was my first real attempt at making horror. Hopefully it turned out okay. I got inspiration from Alien but I thought it'd be interesting if the human was a threat to the aliens instead. I probably could've made said human look more threatening but whatever. Also for those who've been following me for a while, It's the same character from <a href="https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/961703">this</a>. Despite all the criticisms I have for this, I'm happy with how it turned out.

Mantis Trap VHS

I HATE COMPOSITING. Why is Davinci Resolve SO DUMB HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Anyway, it's finally done, and I learned a few things, so I can't wait for the next project I come up with.

A scene from the book "Oh F*ck! Dinosaurs!"

Hey Newgrounds! Been a bit! Heres an animated scene from my book, "Oh F*ck! Dinosaurs!" Available now! I animated this from top to bottom; modeled the environment, animated the CG and 2D and did the post after effects editing. Its something I've always wanted to do since I saw Titan AE in theaters and played Xenogears as a kid, make a 3D environment with 2D characters. Been animating for about 13 years now and somehow this is the first time Ive done it! Hope you enjoy! The character is saddened from what he’s done and lays his hands behind his head while his eyes are closed. Later, he appeared in a grass field with the desk and chair with him. He opened his eyes in shock, leading him to walk up the hill to see the horizon of the environment. The character breaths in and out and smiles. The final frame is the drawing completed of the character himself in the grass field. Concept and InspirationThe idea behind Mario and the Purple Spot came from MrSeb81’s fascination with glitch art and video game lore. He wanted to explore an unusual plot point in the Mario universe, where the normally cheerful world of Mario is disrupted by a strange, unexplained phenomenon: the purple spot. The concept was to give Mario a task that felt strange but oddly relatable—much like the frustration players feel when encountering a glitch they can’t solve. Character DevelopmentMario’s character, usually a fearless plumber, was portrayed in a slightly more confused and paranoid light in this short film. Voice actor behind Mario (MrSeb81 himself, perhaps!) went for a more stressed, edgy tone throughout the video. Mario questions the purple spot’s existence, often engaging in humorous inner monologues that reflect the absurdity of the situation.Supporting characters, such as Luigi and Toad, make brief but impactful appearances, each offering their own ridiculous theories about the purple spot. These small cameos were improvised, adding a spontaneous flavor to the character dynamics. Set Design and Visual EffectsThe purple spot was no ordinary visual. In post-production, MrSeb81 experimented with glitch overlays, using vibrant purples and pixel distortions to make the spot look out-of-place in Mario’s typically vibrant, cheery environment. Using modern editing tools, they were able to give the purple spot an eerie glow that hints at something "off" in the Mario universe. Many of the sets were classic Mario worlds recreated using fan-made 3D models and custom animations. The contrast between the crisp 3D designs and the glitchy, ominous spot is one of the video’s highlights.

Experimenting with more stylized environments

More messing around with Blender and Grease Pencil!Trying to get around the problem of the characters looking flat in the 3D environments by going for something more stylized.I took insperation from games like Rayman 2 and early Ratchet and Clank. Also added a rim light to the character, and I think the extra shading here also helps.Only problem I'm facing now is with the line art... I was hoping to keep the pixelated/non-anti aliasing look from previous animations, but when zooming the camera out, the line art becomes jittery. Still trying to find away around that... This test is more than a few weeks old by now, but I figured I should post this here anyways, since I posted the previous 2.A more indepth look at how I made this can be watched <a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7U53XBM1T_c" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">here!</a>
